We're So Sorry, Uncle Albert...

Every American should perform his/her patriotic duty...

...and vote in the next election.

But only after studying the candidates and their positions very carefully before making their decision. They should not look at it as "just another election". (They should look at it as the mother in the Bible that had to decide whether to have her child cut in half until, Solomon the Wise, figured out which was the real mother?) It is an election that requires all the wisdom the voters can gather, before they cast their vote. It is the time for everyone to think about what is best for our country?

Otherwise, we are not doing our patriotic duty.

Of course, everyone on DU has given it a lot of thought, just as the other side would also claim. We have almost unanimously, I hope, decided to give our support to Joe Biden.

We do not believe the "Deep State" is out to get Donald Trump. We believe they are part of a bureaucracy that has built up over the years, but they are not out to harm our country. Most of us believe that they are mostly patriotic Americans trying to serve their country the best they know. We believe we are witnessing a con-artist, who cannot be trusted, constantly lie to the American people. The facts do not match his assertions. The lies cannot be tolerated.

That is why I will vote for Joe Biden.

People should not make knee-jerk decisions in this upcoming election, as they did in 2016.

A time for every purpose...

Should Democrats buy time on television networks to respond to the lies surely to come...?

...from the Republican Convention, led by Donald Trump?

In my opinion, they should purchase 10-15 minutes airtime immediately after each night's performance to rebut or clarify the attacks of Trump and the Republicans.

But only if they can get it within a 30-minute window of the closing each night, when people are still focused on what they had just witnessed.

By the Side of the Road

August 23, 2020

Donald Trump is a "hoax".

Nobody knows him better than his family.

His older sister, Mary Ann, was secretly recorded saying some very unkind remarks about her younger brother, Donald. She said he was a liar. He could not be trusted. He had no principles. Donald only cared about Donald.

"Holy sh*t", she said.

But the media then debated whether or not her comments had any value because they were taped secretly? However, that should not be the question.

The real question is whether or not she was speaking with candor. Most would agree that she was saying exactly how she felt about her brother. Whether or not it was taped "in secret" or not is a secondary issue.

She was only saying what the majority of Americans already know. They know that Donald Trump cannot be trusted. They know that he lies to protect himself from embarrassing or criminal charges. They understand that loyalty is a one-way street with him.

The truth is that he is the biggest "hoax" ever perpetrated on the American people. He is the domestic threat that is mentioned in our Constitution. He lies with a purpose. He is a most dangerous propagandist, that threatens our very democracy.

Sunday Morning Comin' Down

August 23, 2020

Let's go to Luckenbach Texas and get back to the basics:

The country needs a leader when we are in the middle of a pandemic. It takes more than just calling it a "hoax".

People need to understand that the Stock Market is not the Economy. Wall Street is not Main Street. It operates at the whims of the very, very wealthy.

Are we better off now than we were four years ago? Ask a blind man. As a poet once said, "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows".

It is not wise to tolerate someone who divides the nation in the manner of the present White House occupant. Patriots do not support such actions.

The lies are a cancer upon our nation. And the MainStream Media does not seem capable or willing to take the time to correct the information coming to the people.

We must protect the truth from assault.

If FOX News doesn't report it, a large portion of Americans do not know it happened.

I must confess, I do not watch a lot of FOX News, but I doubt very much if they have reported on the comments by Trump's sister, Mary? She was secretly recorded making some rather unpleasant and damning comments about her brother Donald. More or less, she said he was an idiot, who had someone else take his tests for him in order to get into college. Also, she said he was cruel, that he is a phony with no principles. She said he could not be trusted.

Will FOX News report that?

Also, Republicans on the Senate Intel Committee finally released their report on the Russian investigation. They did not find a "hoax". But, they did ascertain that Paul Manafort, the Trump Campaign Chairman, was handing over inside campaign information to a Russian agent. Also, they discovered that Trump knew about the communications of Roger Stone with Wikileaks and the Russians. Any other time and that story would have been earth-shaking.

But, has FOX News said anything about it?

If not, there are a lot of blind sheep walking around dangerously close to the edge of the cliff.

Why did the Republicans release the Senate Intel Report at this time?

It has been mostly ignored by the mainstream media, even though the Senate Committee said the Russian investigation was not a "hoax" and that Trump' campaign manager, Paul Manafort, had given inside-campaign information to a Russian agent during the 2016 campaign. They were seeking foreign help. The Senate Report considered Manafort a "grave" security threat.

Yet, the Republicans continue to act as if nothing happened? The Senate Report was meaningless. They still believe the Russian investigation was a "hoax". They have no problem with Manafort, the Campaign Manager for the Trump Campaign in 2016, dealing with a foreign agent to affect our elections?

The Republicans on the Committee must have known this was the ideal time to release the Report. People were distracted. There was simply too much chaos for people to notice that their democracy was being sabotaged right before their eyes.
