kentuck's JournalSomething un-American and traitorous in the air...
A Congressperson calls the President a "piece of shit".
As our country and our troops are under siege in an enemy country, all they can do is criticize.
They no longer care for our country or our democracy. They are tightly wrapped in a bubble of hatred and lust for power. They simply cannot be trusted.
They take the side of dictators and terrorists over our own country, if it embarrasses the opposing Party or their leader. It is unprecedented in American history.
What do you foresee as the future of Afghanistan?
Where will they be one month from now or one year from now?
None of us can predict the future but the past is prologue. We could expect the Taliban to do much what they have done in the past.
Will they attack the Americans before they leave Afghanistan? That would seem like a very foolish move.
Will they be able to form a functioning government? Or will they compromise and form some sort of coalition government, in order to receive IMF and foreign aid? Will they adhere to their agreements?
Or will they break down into civil war amongst their tribes, creating millions of refugees in the process? It is all unpredictable.
Will the US maintain any diplomatic relations with the Taliban government? Will they keep their Embassy open for further evacuations?
Or with the presence of the Americans for the last twenty years, have they moved more into the 21st century? Will they moderate any at all on their deeply held Sharia beliefs? Will they continue to treat women as they did in the past? Will they continue to chop off the hands of thieves and common criminals?
There are many questions left as Joe Biden attempts to wean them off the American teat.
Biden should make a request of Donald Trump, as a statesmen, diplomat, and former President...
Since he negotiated a deal with the Taliban personally, with the assistance of his Secretary of State, Mike Pompe, he could do a great favor for his nation.
He could travel to Kabul and talk to the Taliban leaders and get them to guarantee safe passage for all Americans and those Afghan citizens that helped them and now wish to leave the country.
Surely with his vast persuasive abilities, he could make sure all the Americans and our allies get out safely and quickly.
Trump could do that if he was a real "patriot".
Since he made the deal, it's the least he could do.
Biden should request that favor from him.

The US should move its operation to Bagram Air Field?
They would need to secure it first.
Is it being occupied? Have mines been planted? There are all sorts of issues if attempted to go back in.
But, Karzai Airport is indefensible beyond its wall. It is not the safest place to be.
I suspect the Taliban will be busy for the next few days negotiating amongst themselves about who is going to lead them?
This might be the best time to re-take Bagram and set up a base to complete the mission?
Going Up The Country
Was there really any doubt that once Trump became involved with Afghanistan....?
...he would screw it up like everything else he came into contact with while he was President?
Biden is taking responsibility for the present predicament in Iraq but he was left a terrible mess to deal with. The buck stops with the President.
What didn't Trump screw up? Immigration? Allied relationships? Economy? The pandemic? The government in general? The institutions?
Well, what about Jerusalem, they say. It's probably just a matter of time until that blows up in our face, also. It was a move made in haste, without thought or wisdom, and without thought of peace in the region. He did it because he could.
There has never been such a disaster to sit in our White House.
Are they still trying to secure the airport at Kabul ?
I heard on CNN that the perimeter around the airport had not yet been secured by the American troops.
Also, it was reported that Mullah Baradar had flown out of Qatar and had landed in Kandahar to a hero's welcome.
Known as Baradar the Butcher, his welcome was compared to the return of Ayatollah Khomeini to Iran in 1979.
Is he the actual leader of the Taliban? Will he be arriving in Kabul in the next day or two to take control of the operation? And the government?

In Afghanistan, Al Qaeda equals The Base
In America, The Base = Trump Republicans
Republican Base = White Nationalist Terrorists
Which is the bigger threat to America?
In my opinion, the Republican Base is a bigger threat than Al Qaeda.
There's really not that much difference between them.
