The Select Committee and the Manhattan DA are playing chess....

The indictment of the Trump Organization is just the beginning. In effect, it is an indictment of Donald Trump, the owner of Trump Organization. In my opinion, their work will be slow and methodical. They will make their moves as if in a chess match. They will not try to checkmate their opponent in one move.

In my opinion, they have the evidence to prove that the Trump Organization is a criminal enterprise and they will work toward that end. It could very well be a RICO case. Because of the political repercussions, they have to take it one step at a time.

Similarly with the Select Committee, Speaker Pelosi understands that "public sentiment" is everything. It was not there for the impeachments. However, it was their duty and it had to be done.

With the present Committee, whenever it is gathered, they will be in no hurry to conclude. The former President is out of office, but still garners a lot of support from his followers. Speaker Pelosi understands that he uses them for political cover. He hides behind them as if they will protect him from any legal ramifications. As the facts come out drip by drip, she believes the "public sentiment" will eventually change? The present political reality will not stay as it is forever. The truth will not be concealed or swept under the rug. It is a time for patience.

One line that not even Bill Barr could cross.

He was a big believer in having a strong unitary government, with the Executive in charge. That helped land him the job of Attorney General.

He did everything he could to protect Trump from the Department of Justice, of which he was in charge. He buried the Mueller Report, along with multiple charges of obstruction of justice. All for his strong Executive.

He did everything he could do to kiss Donald Trump's ass. He saw to it that Donald Trump's friends, such as Roger Stone, did not do time, and permitted numerous "unitary" pardons.

He did everything he could do to please his Boss. Until the Boss asked him to confiscate voting machines and to help him steal an election. He wanted him to do the dirty work. But that was a bridge too far for Bill Barr.

He was willing to rob a few banks and bust some kneecaps, but he was not ready for murder. He refused to kill our democracy.

Will the Select Committee be public hearings?

Or will it all be behind closed doors?

Don't the people deserve to know what their Congress is doing?

Anytime you have a closed-door hearing, the Republicans spin the crap out of it.

Why is Barr separating himself from Trump at this time?

He was the most loyal devotee.

Could it be that he know some rocks are being turned over and some of them do not make him look very good?

He was in on the entire disastrous conspiracy until the very end. Now, he wants people to think that he was always contradicting and opposing what Trump wanted. The truth is that no one was more instrumental in assisting Trump with the attack upon our country and Constitution than Bill Barr, with the possible exception of Rudy Giuliani.

Obviously, he wants to rehabilitate his reputation. He can see the writing on the wall and it doesn't look good for the former sycophant and henchman for Donald Trump.

Americans cannot do the things that need to be done because of huge taxcuts to the wealthy...

The last time we had a balanced budget was at the end of the Clinton Administration. There was an actual surplus.

However, George W Bush persuaded the voters that the surplus was "their money" and proceeded to give a huge tax cut to the most wealthy. There is never a bad time for a tax cut in the Republican world.

If we fast forward to today's debate over infrastructure and things that need to be done for the people, Republicans are quick to say that it is not paid for. They refuse to raise taxes to pay for what needs to be done. Even after the $2 trillion dollar tax cut at the beginning of the Trump Administration, they cannot raise any taxes to help the people.

They can only cut taxes. It would be a sin to do otherwise.
