The nightmare scenario for frightened Republicans.

Yes, they have the votes to acquit Donald Trump in a Senate trial.

But what happens then?

They witnessed the shock in the Party when Trump tweeted an attack upon an impeachment witness, even at the moment she was testifying!

What might happen once he is acquitted? Nobody knows. It is the unpredictable that scares them the most. A lot can happen in a year.

Will another crime be discovered ? Will another witness appear? What might the Courts rule? There are so many devastatimg events that can happen once they acquit him in the Senate.

The scariest part is that they know something bad will happen. They can paint themselves into a corner very easily.

Did Elizabeth make a mistake with her MFA endorsement?

Looking at the polls, she may have scared a few voters away that do not wish to surrender their employer-provided insurance?

If that is the case, what can she do to correct the mistake?

Perhaps there is another reason her polls have gone down?

In my opinion, she needs to refine her message on the MFA. The reality is that many voters do not support Medicare For All at this time.

Does Elizabeth need to change her position to fit political realities?

Ukraine, in context

This scandalous and treasonous story coming out of Ukraine did not happen in a vacuum.

If it had not been for the many questions about Russia after the 2016 elections, Ukraine may not have seemed so important?

All the Intelligence agencies were saying that Russia interfered in our elections, systematically. Donald Trump was calling it a "hoax" and a "witch hunt".

The Justice Dept appointed a Special Counsel to investigate. The Mueller Report showed us a lot. There was a network of criminals within an international network.

Whether or not Mr Mueller was requested to end the investigation prematurely, we do not know? However, the very next day, after Mueller had given his closing comments, Mr Trump was on the phone with the new president of Ukraine, wanting to make a deal. If he went along, he could get a visit at the White House and the money released that Ukraine needed for its national defense. He let him know that he needed a favor.

So, the seeds of doubt had already been planted with the Russia investigation. When it become known that Mr Trump wanted the new president of Ukraine to "investigate" Joe Biden and his son, for political advantage in the next election, the people of this country were on guard not to let any foreigners interfere in our 2020 election.

Trump, Rudy, Lev, and Igor, and others, have assisted with a corrupt and criminal act. That is why the House is impeaching Donald J. Trump.

How exactly did Trump acquire the Old Post Office Building that is now the Trump International ?

The best that I can understand is that he knew someone in the GSA and got a favorable bid and was able to lease the building for like 99 years?

Has this ever been investigated? And is he up to date on the lease? Also, is he abiding by the agreement within the lease?

We now hear that he wants to sell his "lease"? Wonder which Russian oligarch will buy it? Wonderful location just down the street from the Capitol.

This transaction has always seemed very suspicious to me? But, its gotten to the point where every transaction is suspicious?

Regarding impeachment, how much stock should be put in public opinion polls?

For example, if the opinion polls do not reach 60-65%, Donald Trump should not be impeached?

Isn't it obvious that a majority of voters do not know shit from shinola? They vote for Congressmen and Senators to make big decisions for them.

Look at the gun issue with Republicans. Do they care that 90% of the people support background checks for gun purchases? No they do not.

It would be nice if those Congressmen on the right side of issue were able to persuade a huge majority to their side, but that should not be the sole criteria for passing legislation, in my opinion.

These people are paid to make the tough decisions, not those citizens that are asked a a question in a public opinion poll.

How many times has Trump tampered with witnesses and obstructed justice?

His witness tampering yesterday in real time was not the first time he has tampered with witnesses. He hinted at a pardon for Michael Cohen, until Cohen turned on him. Then, he threatened his father-in-law and his business ventures.

Similarly with Paul Manafort, from the beginning, he was hinting at a pardon for him, and let everyone know how terrible he was being treated by the Special Counsel. He was receiving info from Manafort, even while he was in prison.

Several times he attempted to obstruct the Mueller investigation with threats and outright obstrution. He tried to fire the Special Counsel. This was after he fired the FBI Director and destroyed the reputations of many in the Justice Dept in the process.

This has been a pattern with Mr Trump since Day one. It did not begin with a phone call to Ukraine.

Body language of Donald Trump after shaking hands with Vladimir Putin?

The video has been shown many times on cable news.

They are sitting down and Trump offers his hand to Putin and when the "shake" is completed, Trump does not look toward his audience.

Instead, he looks down and toward the side for a brief moment, as if he is ashamed of something?

I am not an expert on body language but it seems there is something between Mr Trump and Putin that is very affecting for Mr Trump?

Has anyone noticed that?

The Republican Party knows Trump is guilty and is engaged in massive cover-up

They are, in their entirety, betraying our country and the American people.

No amount of lies or propaganda can hide them from the truth.

They know that the emperor has no clothes, yet they continue to pretend it is nothing more than a partisan squabble. Their denial is obvious to everyone except themselves.

How long can they continue this charade? They believe they can lie their way to victory in the next election.

Unfortunately for Republicans, there is no easy way out. They are about to reap what they have sown.

After yesterday, Republicans will need to re-calibrate.

Their Counsel, Steve Castor, was criticized by some on the right as being on the "other" side. Also, he was caught on camera, leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed, as if resigned to the futility of his argument.

Their strategy was to disrupt with procedural motions and "points of order" but they were quickly squelched by Chairman Schiff, who recognized their scheme from the beginning. They were going to let Ms Stefanik lead the charge and then let Gym Jordan clean up with his rapid-fire questioning. They were persistent. They tried about six times each to disrupt the hearing but were scolded and silenced by Mr Schiff in very short order. He showed that he was in total control of the hearing.

What will they do different going forward? Since their initial strategy failed so miserably, what can they do to interrupt and disrupt with the future witnesses? Mr Trump was probably very disappointed in their efforts yesterday?
