Midnight Blues

Republicans have just gone thru the third stage of grief?

This may help to understand where Republicans are at this time?

As we know, the five stages of grief are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance

They tried to bargain with the Supreme Court and were shot down.

Some may still be in the denial and anger stage.

However, after the Supreme Court's refusal to even hear their case, many are entering into the depression stage. In my opinion, that is where most Republicans are at this time. It will take a while to recover from mental and emotional grasp that Donald Trump had on them.

Who knows when they will enter the "acceptance" stage? When will they accept that Joe Biden is the new President? When will they accept that Donald Trump lost the election?

Suckers and Grifters

The word of the Supreme Court is not good enough.

The word of Republican and Democratic election officials is not enough.

The audits and recounts are not enough.

Sixty straight defeats in the courts is not enough.

Trump said it. I believe it. That settles it.

What's next?

The electoral votes are not enough?

January 20th is just a date on the calendar?

The truth is whatever we choose to believe?

Insanity is just a medical term?

Every Congressman that took part in this seditious act should be censured on the floor of the House.

That is the least that should happen to them.

They put Donald Trump above our democracy and above our country. Their actions were a disgrace.

126 Republicans joined in this dangerous game. Now, after the fact, they say they were just following their judicial options. They were not. They were following the dictates of Donald J Trump.

They deserve a much worse punishment. They deserve to be thrown out of Congress. Their seditious and treasonous act should never be forgotten.

Has America lost the rule of law?

That may be the most serious loss from the Trump years?

Without justice, there can be no Constitution, no democracy, no freedom.

When people can flagrantly violate the laws of our country, because of position or whatever, the country can not long last.

When elected Senators turn the other way as laws are broken and the Justice Department becomes a partisan apparatus to help their Leader , then democracy as we know it, cannot survive.

America is definitely at a crossroads.

Why the Supreme Court will throw Trump out on his ear?

Because, if they were to do otherwise, they would destroy their own legitimacy. They would no longer be a credible "court". They would be an operative of an autocrat, rather than a democracy.

They would cease to exist. It's as simple as that.

Trump may have thought he had it all figured out? He appointed "his" own Justices, along with the partisans already on the Court, and they would rule for him when the time came?

Well, the time is here.

The Supreme Court will end this effort to overthrow an election.

Trump and the seditious Republicans will be dumped in the trash can.

If Trump is not charged with any Federal crimes, he will escape any state charges?

We hear a lot about NY's AG and the SDNY and how they will make life a living hell for Donald Trump when he is out of office.

I am not convinced that will happen.

He committed his crimes in NYC for the last 40 years and contributed to every politician that came along and never was charged with anything. He did not start committing crimes once he became the president. He has been committing crimes forever.

So, if the new Attorney-General and the FBI refuse to investigate and prosecute, the Trump Family will escape all legal scrutiny, in my opinion.

From what we are experiencing as a nation, at this very moment, he should be prosecuted. What charges??

You name it.

106 names that will live in infamy.

Write them down.

I am almost certain they will not look so good two years from now when they are running for re-election.

Trump wanted someone to show "courage". They are showing "chicken shittage". Selling out their country for a two-bit con artist, fearful of a tweet.

They have sold out their country.

Many people register to vote when they get their driver's licenses...

...or when they get them renewed.

That is their identification. They have signed their driver's license and stood in front of a camera to get their photo taken.

Now, Republicans are challenging those signatures when they go to vote. They say they don't match and that many are illegal.

How much more bureaucracy should the government require from a person before they can cast a vote?

I thought the Republicans were "anti-government"?

Voters do not get a ballot unless they have been registered to vote. It is just another anti-democratic ploy by the Republican Party.

Voters do not need to be further harassed before they can vote.

He's making a list - checking it twice

Gonna find out who's naughty or nice?

Donald Quixote wants a list. He's calling all the State Attorneys-General to get them to join him in his suit before the US Supreme Court. If they cannot join him, he is warning them not to go against him.

He wants to unite the Republicans in his war against the windmills. His purpose is to divide the nation into Democrats vs Republicans. It's a foolish and deadly game that he plays.

He believes that if he can get a united Republican Party before the Supreme Court, they will have no choice but to go along with their Party. The pressure will be too great for them to ignore. He wishes for them to believe that half the country is behind his efforts to overturn the last election, which saw him soundly defeated by the American people.

Hopefully, the Court will dismiss his folly with another one-sentence ruling?
