kentuck's JournalLet's not forget who paid $750 dollars in Federal taxes in each of his last two years in office...?
It leaves open the possibility that there may have been a little tax fraud going on?
I heard some very serious charges in the indictments handed down today, not the least of which was conspiracy, Altogether, they sounded like charges against a criminal organization.
It is disheartening that more charges were not made public today. We have seen so much criminality in the last 4 years, it seems there is no more justice in the world.
However, we should not overlook the fact that we have gone the last four years without a Justice Department, except in name only. Four years without any accountability.
That is why it is so important for this Justice Department to hold people accountable.
Does anyone know what the grievances were, of the mob that attacked our Capitol?
Other than, they were following the marching orders of their Leader, Donald Trump? Was their only grievance that they believed the election had been stolen?
Were they persecuted? Were they over-taxed? Were they victims of the system in some way?
What specifically were their "grievances" ?
McCarthy is threatening his entire caucus?
I heard on one of the cable news shows this morning that he has told his caucus that if any of them choose to serve on the Select Committee, they may as well join the Party of Pelosi. He wants a complete boycott of the Committee.
McCarthy is an accomplice to perhaps the greatest betrayal in the history of our country. It is difficult to understand why everyone in his caucus would choose to follow him, instead of their conscience. He knows a lot but refuses to talk. Those that follow him are complicit. Being a member of Congress does not exempt them from having to deal with the facts and the law.
Will Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger be intimidated by McCarthy's threats? Or will they join with the Democrats to protect our nation?
The Republican Party is a lost cause.
As are all those that still associate and support that political Party.
They are anti-American, anti-reality, and anti-truth. They no longer have the ability to distinguish politics from threats to our national security. They are victims of a cult and are incapable of thinking for themselves. They are stuck in a deep denial.
There is no indication that they will open their eyes anytime soon. They see it as nothing more than a war with the "libs". They are in the process of taking our nation under.
No one has any answers.

Who should be on the list of witnesses for the Select Committee?
Where should they start? At the bottom and work up? Or at the top and work down?
How about if they started with former VP, Mike Pence? That would create a world of interest in the viewing public and the odds would be good that Mike Pence would start off the Committee hearing with a bang. One can imagine the questions he would be asked and the answers he would give.
Or would it be preferable to start with police officers or members of Congress that were beaten or threatened that day? If a couple of Democratic Congresspeople were called as witnesses, it might make it more difficult for Republicans to refuse to testify?
Would it be best to get the people's attention right away, or just start at the bottom and work up? Personally, I think Mike Pence and Bill Barr would be an excellent place to start.
Trump went down to the border today to get his mind off the indictments coming down...
...'cause he's hard to live with when he is perturbed and angry.
He was probably advised that it would be good for him if he "play-acted" that he was still the President?
Because when he gets angry, he always gets his way. When he gets real angry, he gets psychopathic. He shows his sickness.
Who will he take it out on tomorrow? Bill Barr? Mitch McConnell? The Attorney General of New York? It's anybody's guess.
His narcissism cannot handle this type of pressure.
One thing is crystal clear - it is only the Republicans that are "playing politics" with 1/6 ...
Democrats need to set them straight on this point. It is the Democrats that want to investigate what happened on 1/6. The Republicans are doing everything in their power to cover it up.
Democrats should be ready with a clear message when they start talking about "playing politics". It is Mitch "Benedict" McConnell and Kevin McCarthy that are playing politics.
They do not want the truth to come out because many of them are complicit. All of them should be censured or removed from the Congress.
Republicans want to play politics with the January 6th Insurrection.
Democrats want to find answers and to prevent it from happening again.
Perhaps the Democrats should play the Republican game? No half-hearted political games but go all in.
Tell the people they are covering up because they are complicit. They don't want the truth because they don't want the people to know the truth.
Put two Republicans on the Committee. Pit Republican against Republican. Let them fight amongst themselves on the Committee. Divide and conquer. Play hardball politics.
Maybe this should be the Democratic strategy?
The Select Committee and the Manhattan DA are playing chess....
The indictment of the Trump Organization is just the beginning. In effect, it is an indictment of Donald Trump, the owner of Trump Organization. In my opinion, their work will be slow and methodical. They will make their moves as if in a chess match. They will not try to checkmate their opponent in one move.
In my opinion, they have the evidence to prove that the Trump Organization is a criminal enterprise and they will work toward that end. It could very well be a RICO case. Because of the political repercussions, they have to take it one step at a time.
Similarly with the Select Committee, Speaker Pelosi understands that "public sentiment" is everything. It was not there for the impeachments. However, it was their duty and it had to be done.
With the present Committee, whenever it is gathered, they will be in no hurry to conclude. The former President is out of office, but still garners a lot of support from his followers. Speaker Pelosi understands that he uses them for political cover. He hides behind them as if they will protect him from any legal ramifications. As the facts come out drip by drip, she believes the "public sentiment" will eventually change? The present political reality will not stay as it is forever. The truth will not be concealed or swept under the rug. It is a time for patience.
