There needs to be a Commission established to find all the facts.

There are a lot of questions and missing links.

There is so much we don't know. We are shocked with new information each day, it seems.

We cannot excuse any possibilities. How deep does it go? Was it planned? Who conspired to storm our Capitol?

Was the purpose of the attack upon our Capitol a violent overthrow of our government? Was it an attempted coup?

Who was involved? Were members of Congress involved in the conspiracy?

Were there plans to assassinate VP Mike Pence and Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the second and third in succession to the Presidency?

How much of it was organized over social media and how much was planned behind closed doors?

Congress should establish a Commission, with the assistance of the FBI, to find the answers.

What is Trump's last gambit?

Does he have one more scheme up his sleeve?

Do you get the feeling that this drama is not yet over?

Will he try to make a deal?

Or will he try to get "his people" to destroy something else before he departs the premises?

It's too bad that they can't arrest a President...

Will Republican voters try to take their Party back from the conspiracy theorists?

Will they hold the 197 Republicans in the House accountable, that voted against impeachment of Donald Trump? They did not vote just against impeachment, they voted for the insurrectionists. Surely that can not be lost on all Republican voters?

We shall see if they pay a price in the 2022 elections? My hunch is that many will feel a lot of pressure from their voters, and it won't be just the ones that voted for impeachment. Do they really want to be a part of that Republican Party?

Do they think their voters are not as patriotic and "American" as everyone else. They saw with their own eyes what happened to our Capitol and who instigated and led the attack. They are not all fools.

The Republicans in Congress are gambling with a backlash, in my opinion. The Democrats do not have the power to hold them accountable but the Republican voters do. We shall see if they use that power?

If Biden pardoned Trump, he would just go away?

No he wouldn't!

He would be even more of a saddle sore.

He would regain his Twitter account and continue the destruction of our democracy. He would rule the Republican Party with an iron fist.

The separation of powers would cease to exist. The Judiciary and legislative branches would exist in name only.

Instead of a pardon and unity, Biden should be thinking of justice and accountability.

The truth needs to be pounded into the heads of the cult until it hurts.

"You are cordially invited to a rally on January 6th..."

Coincidentally, it is close to the White House and the US Capitol.

It will really be wild. You won't wanna miss it!

We will be serving cake and ice cream. You may want to bring a blanket and an umbrella just in case the weather is bad.

As a bonus, your favorite president will be speaking that day. It will be a day of unity and we wish to thank each of you in person for your support.

Also, that is the day that the Congress counts the electoral votes for the next President. Unfortunately, we came up a few votes short and Joe Biden will be the next President.

We wish him luck in guiding our great nation into the future.

Yours truly,

What is the present status of the Senate trial?

Is it not going to happen until Joe Biden is inaugurated?

Or is Nance just holding it as an insurance policy against Donald Trump to insure that he is on his best behavior until he leaves office?

Would McConnell not accept the Article of Impeachment under any circumstances?

Where does it presently stand?

How bad was it for those hidden in the Capitol?

They were escorted out of the chambers before the violent mob made it in. They were taken to more secure areas.

They soon realized that no room was really secure. The angry and violent mob was breaking windows and knocking down doors in attempts to find them. They were terrorized.

They got on their phones to call for help. Some had a direct connection to Donald Trump and the White House. He ignored their calls as they feared for their lives.

He watched it on TV with glee. Why wasn't everyone else as happy as he with what was happening?

They begged and pleaded for him to call them off. He refused.

For hours they hid under tables and in closets, hoping they would not be discovered and killed. But, nothing came from the White House.

Outside, they were waving their huge TRUMP flags and beating a cop with an American flag still on its pole. It was easy to see without looking too far that they had no respect for the flag or for America.

Finally, someone persuaded Mr Trump to make a statement to call off the dogs. He did not want to but they convinced him that he could be held criminally liable if someone was killed? He finally bent to their wishes and gave his comments that said Biden would be the new President, which he later said was a mistake.

So today, the House is debating whether or not he did anything that merits impeachment. Really. They are debating that.

Donald Trump will be more "presidential" than we have ever seen him?

Because he needs Republican Senators to not vote to convict. Because conviction ends his political career and the Trump gravy train.

So he must act as if it is all a "hoax" and a "witch-hunt" by the Democrats. The Republicans must set aside the reality of what happened a week ago and who was responsible?

This will be his biggest role yet as a reality TV star. They must believe what he tells them, not what they have seen with their own eyes and heard with their own ears.

He will work overtime to demonize the "far-left, socialist" Democrats.

He only has a few days to persuade enough Republicans to ignore his crimes and his betrayal of this nation.

Will he be successful?

That is the only game he has left.

The Victory of Truth and Democracy

If truth is to be served, I am willing to admit that Donald Trump received almost 75 million votes in the last election.

At the same time, we must admit that Joe Biden received almost 82 million votes.

We cannot accept one without the other.

Those that scream "Fraud!" are more than willing to believe that Donald Trump received all those votes. But, Joe Biden did not receive his votes, even though 50 individual states, Democrats and Republicans, verified and certified them.

The truth is not a buffet. We do not get to choose which ones we believe and which ones we don't believe. It's sitting there right next to the grits and gravy.

The truth is that more Americans went out to vote than anytime in our history. The majority sensed the danger in the MAGA movement and went to the polls to fight it. They were victorious. The people spoke. Democracy won. Unfortunately, the supporters of the "Fascist" in the White House did not accept it. They did not even accept that he was a "fascist". Perhaps that is a truth yet to be determined?

However, every voter that went to the polls and voted for democracy is a hero for the country. They realized that it is much better to resolve our differences at the polls than in the streets.

It will take some time for our country to assimilate the truth about this election and how the "Big Lie" was used to manipulate the emotions and actions of millions of Trump supporters. It is up to them to reconcile their demons. The truth and democracy were victorious.

Will Trump resign tomorrow?

Once he sees the writing on the wall?

Once he realizes that he is going to lose the vote in the Senate, will he be looking to make a deal?

For the first time in almost 5 years, he will probably "act" presidential. He will be a martyr. He will be a victim.

He will be gone.
