kentuck's JournalThe Storage Room Saga
The boxes went in. Some of the boxes came out. Some of the boxes went back in again.
The prosecutors are attempting to fill in the details between. Reportedly, they do have video. Why would they not indict a couple of people for conspiracy? If two or more conspire, it is a conspiracy.
Perhaps some documents are still missing? And are being used to extort the Justice Department? Is that too far beyond possible? How would we know?
The saga continues.
The most sensitive documents at Mar-a-Lago were found in Trump's office?
Why was that?
Were these the "personal mementos" that he was so fond of holding on to, as some of his supporters have stated? That doesn't appear to be the case.
One of his attorneys, Evan Corcoran, said that he was prohibited from searching Trump's office, just a day before the Feds came to search the place. It has not yet been reported who prohibited him from searching Trump's office?
When the Feds went in with a search warrant, they found all the most sensitive documents in the office, some of them in his desk.
If that doesn't raise a red flag, then nothing will.
What were his plans for the documents? Who did he show them to? Did he make copies? Did some of them contain intelligence that would help Russia in their war against Ukraine?
Will we ever know the truth?
With all the disinformation, misinformation, propaganda, lies, and Artificial Intelligence...?
How does one find the truth?
How can we keep the general population from being a mass of confusion?
It seems to be a real problem to me.
How do we solve it?
What happens when Trump is charged with espionage?
What will be the reaction in the MAGA movement?
Will they be in a minority in the country?
Most Americans might be shocked to learn about the degree of betrayal? That, not only did he steal the documents and desperately attempted to keep them from the FBI and the government, but he also, gave them to our adversaries, even though they were marked Top Secret.
Most Americans will be very surprised if Trump is charged with espionage. But the DOJ is required to follow the law. It will be up to a jury to decide guilt or innocence.
This is the most grave decision anyone in our Justice Department has ever had to make.
But, our Constitution must be defended and preserved.
Pardons for the criminals that attacked our Capitol on January 6th?
Should Democrats make this an issue in the next election?
Even talk about "pardons" lead many people to believe these people were innocent and are nothing more than "political prisoners" of the deep state.
Is it wise to ignore all the talk about "pardons" for the insurrectionists?

The recent revelations about the stolen documents raises some new questions
The latest reports are that a couple of Trump workers moved boxes into the storage room at Mar-a-Lago. Into the storage room, not out of the storage room. Reportedly, they were moved one day before the DOJ came to retrieve them via subpoena.
Where were they stored before they were moved? Were they stored in Trump's office, the place they found documents when they went in with a search warrant?
And what happened to the documents that were in the empty folders?
Were they moved to the Westminster Golf Club, where the Saudis sponsored the LIV golf tournament just a few weeks later?
Did Trump show or give the documents to the Saudis at that time?
There should be no ambiguity about the Big Lie, January 6th, or the Republican Party.
Republicans have betrayed this country. They continue to believe that somehow they will be able to control the fascist if he wins the next election. It is easier to believe that than to speak the truth.
January 6th was an attack upon our Capitol, an attempted coup to keep Donald Trump in power, and a planned conspiracy to stop the count of the electoral votes. It was a criminal act. It was not a patriotic act in any way. Nobody should be permitted to try and whitewash it or to minimize it. It was a despicable attack upon our democracy and it is a lie to try and define it as anything else.
Perhaps Democrats need to be more direct and confrontational about it?
There should be no ambiguity about what happened and who was involved and who inspired it and which Party continues to defend it.
It should be clear to the American people that it was not a typical tourist day and it was not the same as any other march or demonstration ever in this country's history.
The Republican Party and all those that have tried to cover up this attack upon our Capitol should not be allowed to lie about it anymore.
There is no defense for what they did.
If justice is permitted to die, then democracy dies.
