Those born in 1947...

After the war had ended... It was near the beginning of the Baby Boom generation. The atomic bomb had been already dropped on Japan. Chuck Yeager had broken the sound barrier. Mahatma Ghandi was fighting for peace and independence in India and passed away early in 1948.

Israel was trying to establish their own independent country after their race was almost decimated from the world with the German extinction movement. Jews were fighting for their very existence.

It seems like we have come full circle.

We have now gone to the moon and beyond. Several countries now have possession of nuclear weapons that can wipe out the world. And Israel is still fighting for its existence.

Over there, the hate is spilling over. It seems like we have learned very little in 76 years.

What is the argument against prosecuting former presidents?

The argue that they cannot be prosecuted while they are president because it might interfere with them protecting our country and other duties of a president.

But once they are no longer the president, what is to keep them from being prosecuted if they are charged with crimes?

Is it just their former title of "president"?

Is it too partisan to hold a former president accountable? It might create violence and division where it is not needed?

Since the revolution was fought to rid ourselves of the yoke of kings, it does not sound logical that we would treat anyone like royalty?

What do you think is the reason for the hesitancy to prosecute former presidents?

The rambling incoherence of a simple mind.

"Have you noticed that US is the same as "us"? I bet I am the first person to ever think of that?"

"These lights! They make you look like a Christmas tree. They were trying to destroy Christmas before we came along."

It is impossible for such a simple mind to come up with a complex thought. He has the mind of a ten-year old. He is always looking for a nickname to call someone. "Should we call him Sleepy Joe or Crooked Joe", he asks his audience?

Ignorance will kill us all. Joe Biden and Donald Trump are both considered very old by the majority of Americans. Trump supporters think he is a "genius". But compared to Donald Trump, Joe Biden is the genius. At least, he thinks like an adult.

The simple-minded believe that everything is "fake news" unless it comes out of the mouth of Donald Trump. That is a dangerous situation for everybody.

Can we all agree that they are a "Cult"?

Almost all of Trump's supporters are members of a cult of personality. They admit that there is nothing he could do, not even murder, that would prevent them from supporting him. There should be little doubt but that they are a "cult" and we should not hesitate to call them by their true name.

Except, of course, except for the very few that support him because they are accomplices to his crimes and are just as guilty as he. They include his lawyers and members of the Republican caucus. They know better but choose to support him for their own criminal reasons.

I think it would be beneficial for conversation to refer to them as the "cult" they are. They may not like it, but so what. There is no reason not to tell the truth about them.

MeidasTouch is reporting that Colorado Supreme Court has turned down Trump's request...

It was reported on the YouTube channel just a while ago. Trump had wanted the Court to stay the decision and had made an emergency request.

The trial is set for October 30th, this Monday.

It is about the 14th Amendment's wording to disqualify anyone that has participated in an insurrection against our country, including aiding and abetting.

In my opinion, it would be hard to argue that it was not "aiding and abetting" by promising pardons to those convicted of their crimes of January 6th. Did it include the Proud Boys and those convicted of seditious conspiracy?

Also, would it include making a CD with those in jail for their parts in the January 6th insurrection?

Would it include his continued praise for those that participated at his request?

Would State Authorities, such as Attorney-Generals and Secretaries of State have the right to keep someone off the ballot if they have been a part of an insurrection?

My hunch is that this case will be appealed all the way to the Supreme Court.

Who's winning? Trump or the US Justice System?

If Trump is found not guilty by a jury, or wins the next election, we could realistically say that Trump has won and the Justice system has lost.

From many reports, Trump supporters say, almost unanimously, that they will support Trump, no matter what the charges?

That is one reason that the Trump trial should be televised for all of America to see. The Jury will look at the facts and the evidence and make their decision of guilt or innocence from those alone.

At this time, it is difficult to say that the American justice system is working, since if it was any other American charged with the same offenses as Trump, they would not be free at this time. Trump is winning on that point.

But, he is charged with 4 indictments and 91 criminal charges. If his supporters do not accept the verdict of the jury and resort to some sort of violence, then who wins?

The only way the American justice system wins is if Trump is held accountable.

Any other result is a loss for the rule of law and for our democracy.

We can only deduce that the entire Republican caucus in the House....

...supported the coup and the violent attack upon our Capitol.

Otherwise, why would they throw their unanimous support behind the architect of the Electoral College sham?

How could we assume otherwise?

They knew exactly who and what they were voting for.

Is the sole goal of the new Speaker to obstruct the Dept of Justice?

And their investigations of the crimes of Donald Trump?

Johnson did not come into the job with clean hands and the entire Republican caucus voted to put him in as Speaker.

If their plan is to claim that the Justice Dept has been weaponized and is on a witch hunt to convict Donald Trump and they have a duty to stop it, then they are guilty of obstruction of justice.

The Justice Dept is not following the dictates of Joe Biden. They are following the law.

The new Speaker and the Republican majority must decide if they are going to follow the law or if they are going to follow the wishes of Donald Trump?

House Republicans have reconciled with Trump and the Big Lie.

For a short time, it appeared that they might be ready to take back their Party from the former president, now Defendant in ninety-one felony charges.

But the break-up was temporary. Trump refused to permit anyone that did not support him in his attempted over-turn of the election to be the new Speaker. So they got someone out of central casting, who looked less threatening, and put him in the Chair.

The Republicans appear ready and on the verge of making Mike Johnson, Trump acolyte, in charge of the House of Representatives. It will finally relieve them of the pressure they felt when Kevin McCarthy was voted out as Speaker.

They can now return to the Trump agenda. Shutting down the government and blocking aid to Ukraine and assisting Putin in any way they can. Of course, they are not sure of what his health condition is at the moment?

They will continue to follow the guidance of their Cult Leader. No progress has been made with the election of Johnson. We are back to square one.
