Forget football, Mr. president, what's going on with

hurricane relief in the Texas Gulf Coast, Florida, Puerto Rico, health care, tax reform, immigration reform, infrastructure improvements and on and on and on.

What do you do all day other than piddle all over your Twitter account?

There is hope....

I was really beginning to despair that this country had really lost it moorings and its morals and that people have forgotten what the Constitution is all about. Then came the "jocks"....those muscle bound guys who we love to watch on Sunday afternoons and they gave this country and this vulgarian president a refresher course in Constitutional law. Unfortunately for all of us, this president has more in common with North Korea's "dear leader" that he has with any president who has preceded him. Many of the people I know follow sports more than they follow politics and they admire these guys who practice discipline and team work and win gracefully and lose gracefully. These people are taking notice and are comparing these accomplished, disciplined athletes with the fat ass, out of control Nero in the White House. I think this has woken up a portion of the population that has been hard to reach.

Make sure everybody you know understands this:

the compassionate Mr. Trump, who loves the dreamers, could have just left DACA in place and proposed legislation to Congress replacing it. That is all he had to do. He didn't do it because his base wanted to screw these kids and their families. He had to throw some red meat to his base and he did. Trump loves the dreamers like he loves this country...not at all. And he loves his base like he loves the dreamers....they will reap what they have sown.

According to NYT, Trump may not understand what he just did to DACA.

"As late as one hour before the decision was to be announced, administration officials privately expressed concern that Mr. Trump might not fully grasp the details of the steps he was about to take, and when he discovered their full impact, would change his mind, according to a person familiar with their thinking who spoke on condition of anonymity without authorization to comment on it."

This is more than frightening.

Trump's wonderfully terrible decision on DACA...

He announces that he's ending it in 6 months and throws the issue to Congress just as the 2018 election season is in full swing. Congress, which can't organize enough votes to take a collective piss, will never be able to enact legislation in 6 months and, if Congress manages to amass the votes to abolish DACA, implementation will be a nightmare reminiscent of Hitler's deportation of the Jews. If Congress enacts legislation to save DACA, Trump will have to veto it and Congress will have to override his veto. Any legislation that Congress passes will be challenged in court by the right and the issue of DACA will fester right into the 2020 election season.

Meanwhile, Canada, whose population is aging, will open its borders to these young, educated, english speaking DACA kids...a win for Canada and a loss for US.

I am also betting that deep in the rotting hearts of Trump's advisors like Bannon, Miller and Sessions is the hope that when and if DACA kids are deported, their families will follow.

Just my random thoughts...
