Italy stabbing: One dead and Arsenal player among several injured

Source: BBC

One person has died and at least four others have been injured - some seriously - in a stabbing in a supermarket near Milan, northern Italy, reports say.

They say an employee of the Carrefour supermarket died after a man started attacking people in the town of Assago.

Among the injured was Pablo Mari, a football player on loan from Arsenal.

A 46-year-old suspect has been detained. The motive for the attack is not yet clear. The attacker has had mental health problems, the reports in Italian media said.

I shouldn't say that knife rampages are preferable to gun rampages, but the rate of death is lower.

"Mental health" is a global issue.

Source: WLKY.

Torrential rains caused flooding in parts of Kentucky and Indiana on Saturday, and an area in southern Indiana got hit particularly hard.

According to the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency in Indiana, Brushy Fork Creek Road northeast of Madison was impacted by a devastating flash flood.

Officials report a woman's body was found 5 miles downstream that may be that of a woman whose home washed away.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday when 9 inches of rainfall in Switzerland and Jefferson Counties in just three hours caused the flood.

Sacramento police make second arrest after mass shooting that left 6 dead

Source: CBS News

Police in Sacramento say a second suspect has been arrested in connection with the weekend mass shooting that killed six people and wounded 12. A police statement Tuesday says 27-year-old Smiley Martin was seriously injured in the gunfire early Sunday and remains hospitalized, but will be booked into jail once he is fit for incarceration.

He faces charges of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a machine gun.

Police say Martin is the brother of the first suspect, 26-year-old Dandrae Martin. Neither has been accused of homicide.

Yes, you read that right: Smiley Martin had a MACHINE GUN in downtown Sacramento and he used it on a crowd of people. Full-automatic weapon. Tell me again how guns make us safer.

Suspected Shooter in Normandale Park Mass Shooting Identified

Source: Portland Mercury

Smith, 43, has lived in an apartment across from Normandale Park for more than a decade, and has harbored growing animosity against Black Lives Matter protesters, COVID-19 mask mandates, unhoused Portlanders, and liberals, according to his roommate, Kristine Christenson.

Smith's brother told the Oregonian that Smith would often complain about the Justice for Patrick Kimmons demonstrations that regularly took place in Normandale Park. Kimmons was a Black man killed by Portland police in 2018. Kimmons supporters had gathered Saturday evening at Normandale to hold a demonstration in support of Amir Locke, a Black man killed by Minneapolis police earlier this month.

Christenson told the Oregonian that Smith collect guns, and kept at least four in his bedroom. "He talked about wanting to go shoot commies and antifa all the friggin' time," Christenson told OPB. "He was just a sad angry dude. ... He talked about wanting to do this for a while. He was angry at the mask mandates, he was angry at the damned liberals."

According to witnesses, Smith approached four unarmed woman gathered near Normandale Park Saturday night and yelled at them to leave. The women were all volunteers, assisting march organizers in slowing traffic to allow demonstrators to march down the street. Within minutes, Smith had allegedly opened fire on the four women, striking all four with bullets. One of the women, June Knightly, died at the scene.

Couple of observations:

1. This was ANOTHER unsable man with a gun, and of course, he shot women (and others). He doesn't appear to have been in any of Portland's RW Militias, but he sounds pretty RW.
2. A good guy with a gun shot a Rampage Shooter - an actual Defensive Gun Use - finally - and they were probably Antifa and/or BLM. Put that in your Anit-Antifa pipe and smoke it.
