John Delaney's Wikipedia vandalized to say he died at the Democratic debate

WASHINGTON – Former Rep. John Delaney, D-Md., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., sparred over the future of the Democratic Party at the second Democratic presidential debate in Detroit, Mich.

Some time afterward, Delaney's Wikipedia page was vandalized to say he had died at the Democratic debate at the hands of Warren. Ken Klippenstein of progressive media outlet The Young Turks noted the change, which was quickly changed back and protected from future revisions, according to Wikipedia's editing logs.

9 tarantulas shipped to SC home are missing — and unsuspecting porch pirate may be why

A package carrying several hairy spiders is missing from a South Carolina porch — and a thief may be responsible, officials say.

The FedEx shipment of about nine tarantulas was supposed to arrive at an Upstate home on Friday, according to a report from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.

A resident on Sunday told a deputy she received a notice that her package had been sent but didn’t see it on her doorstep, the report says.

The spider-filled shipment was worth about $1,000, according to the sheriff’s office.

Hong Kong Police Tear-Gassed Themselves Because They Forgot How Downwind Works

Footage has emerged from Hong Kong which shows police officers accidentally tear-gassing themselves, apparently forgetting about the effects of downwind gusts.

Officers had been trying to tear-gas protesters in the north west town of Sheung Wan. However, this quite literally blew back in their faces.

The footage has been shared by Hong Kong University’s HKU Campus TV Facebook page, and shows the deployed tear gas blowing straight back over police lines.

Adopting a dog - some questions

We lost our cats over the last two years. Can't replace them.

Little one is a teenager and my wife and her have been talking about a dog.
We got a cage (not sure about that) and we are going to surprise her.

So where are the best places to get one of those dog things?

My wife and I are going between a puppy or an older dog - my preference. We bought a boat load of new furniture with the new house so I'd like an older dog + everyone wants a puppy.

So what kind of places PLEASE NO SPECIFIC CITES (unless they are in Richmond VA) to get a dog?

I have a connection to the blind world so I'm going to see if there is a retiring assistance dog out there.

Army Lets Slip That It's Conducting Secret Operation Around D.C.

The Pentagon has revealed a few details about a secret Army mission that has Black Hawk helicopters flying missions over the Washington, D.C., area backed by active-duty and reserve soldiers.

The mysterious classified operation was disclosed when the Army asked Congress for approval to shift funds to provide an extra $1.55 million for aircraft maintenance, air crews and travel in support of an “emerging classified flight mission.”

It’s part of a $2.5 billion request this month to “reprogram” funds in the current fiscal year’s budget to programs considered high priorities. “Without additional funding, the Army will not be able to perform this classified mission,” the Defense Department said.

Army spokesman Wayne Hall declined in an email to comment on some possibilities -- including whether the mission involved protecting the White House or other federal buildings and whether it’s making use of specialized commando units of the Pentagon’s Joint Special Operations Command, which includes the Army’s Delta unit and Navy’s Seal Team Six.
