Oh no, didn't you hear? Freddie Gray broke his own neck. And smashed his own vocal cords.

And "mistakes were made." Over there somewhere.

Baloney.

NONE of them was responsible? Not ONE?

Bullshit. He's calling for an independent investigation? They just had one! Which is why we got the results we got. Mr. Ryan - if you want THAT kind of "justice", in other words, another whitewash, you need to move to Ferguson MO.

I'm with you on that, too, mountain grammy.

I am SO tired of seeing these schmucks wriggling out of the hot seat. SO tired of seeing these assholes get away with it, again and again and again and again. Maybe that's why I'm taking such joy in the actions and statements of that prosecutor in Baltimore. She was quite brilliant!

ROFL! Quatloos! You Gamester, you!

I HOPE they refuse to take the fall. I would LOVE to see christie face some genuine shit on this. It's impossible to believe that, in the kind of climate and tone HE set in that office, as the bully and in-yer-face asshole and political hard-baller he is, that they were out there as lone wolves, going rogue or something. Seems rather clear, they were doing his bidding as they very clearly understood it. As Michael Dukakis once said - "the fish rots from the head."

Welcome to DU papertolio!

Glad you're here! I think we all hope that, but with reservations. We're all too accustomed to seeing these lice escape or otherwise get out of it. They never have to face the music. But it'd be awfully nice to see. We haven't had that kind of satisfaction since Nixon. And we're LONG overdue for more.

No pity. Hey, Smith - YOU probably VOTED for this asshole, too, didn't you!

You're just now realizing abbott's a schmuck?

May 1, 2015

OUCH. That's a good one, geek tragedy. "Retirement balls."

I guess he knew that bush/cheney had his in their clenches while he was still in that administration.

I find it fitting that his capitulation to them, his going along with them, his not standing up to them - has made all those nice loud speculations about him being president someday just evaporate into thin air. You sacrificed not only your soul but whatever might have been left of your political future, colin. You let them finish you. Was it worth it?

I used to respect colin powell. Not anymore. He could have made a HUGE statement by refusing to carry their water at the UN. Hell, with his clout at that time, he might even have thrown an unremovable monkey wrench into their eagerly-pushed and long-desired war plans. He didn't want to, initially, but went along anyway. Coward.

A star is born, maybe? I found myself imagining her in the future - undoubtedly

headed for a higher office. Wouldn't be surprised.

Magnificent, impressive debut on the national scene for this young woman today. She just won a lot of respect, I think. No-nonsense. And pretty clearly - no bias apparent. Looks like HER office is not one of those many prosecutors' offices that's in bed with, or otherwise biased toward, the police. Like her counterpart in Ferguson CLEARLY was.

May 1, 2015

No kidding. I was thinking that same thing. He embodied the "friendly prosecutor's office"

miscarriage of justice. He was WAY too cozy and WAY too biased toward the cops. TOO MANY like him are that way. This wasn't.

I'm impressed! About time!!! The civilians in the crowd during her announcement were audibly pleased with what they were hearing. She's throwing the book at 'em.

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
