About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

Awww... poor widdle thing!

Must just kill him to have to reel it back in like this. Boo hoo.

Well, guess maybe you can't start your beloved impeachment proceedings today, can you, asshole? As Kathleen Parker once said - "put on your clown suit and go play in the street."

End of first paragraph on Page 2. I don't agree with her on some things, here or elsewhere, but that particular line was PRICELESS!!!!!

Knowing the track record for the GOP's lies and penchant for malicious mischief against political

foes, AND knowing kkkarl rove's track record for sneaky-ass duplicitous schemes, I would actually bet on that ORCA program being everything Anonymous says it was. The GOP CANNOT be trusted. And it wouldn't surprise me at all if they put something together to try to make SURE the fix was in. I'm just looking at past track records, that's all. As that old cliche says, the past is prologue. This would have been a scam to make lee atwater proud enough to try to rise from the dead. And that it might have been cooked up by his most loyal and attentive disciple - well, what I've seen and observed over numerous election cycles, and the way the GOP tends to maintain a default position of attempting to rig the game, either overtly or covertly, tells me this is plausible.

I wouldn't be ONE BIT surprised, considering the people involved here.

California does it again!

Welcome to DU, piechartking, stopwastingmymoney, and mimi85!

Great to have each of you with us! Good things come in threes! The more of us there are, the better able we will be to solidify the gains we made on Election Night! We have to build on all those good results, and not take a bit of it for granted. There ARE some, well, semi-sensible opponents who are looking at our strong demographic groups with rawther hungry eyes!

Welcome to DU, Fence rider!

Good to have you with us! What a November! Let's make sure we solidify the gains we made on Election Night. Remember what Mad-Eye Moody told Harry Potter: "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!!!!!" 'Cause you know the bad guys aren't gonna give up and go away, OR be gracious losers.

I'm just marveling at the take-away so many of them got from the election. Too many of them simply have not learned ANYTHING from it! Too many of them think they just didn't message their ideas and agenda well enough. Fact is, they DID. They messaged it all over Kingdom Come.

It's not HOW they messaged that failed. It's WHAT they messaged. It's their IDEAS that suck. It's their AGENDA that sucks. It's their POLICIES that suck. THAT is what America voted against!

And I posted with it: "Let's finally make truth-tellers out of the GOP! Help them find their way back at least as far as their 2008 campaign motto: "Country FIRST!"

Did anyone see this post, re mcsame becoming unspooled at a reporter's unfortunate question:

MOST amusing story in TPM - where he let his temper fly at a CNN reporter who dared to ask him a rather pointed question. But note the post below it - someone referring to "'Wet Start Johnny' in 1967" ?!?!? Sounds like some sort of military slang?

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) flashed his temper on Thursday morning when confronted with questions from a reporter regarding the former Republican presidential nominee's absence from a briefing on the September terrorist attacks at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
According to CNN, most Republican members of the Senate committee in charge of investigating the attacks were absent from the classified briefing, which was led by Obama administration officials on Wednesday. On the same day, McCain held a Capitol Hill press conference to call for a special investigation of the attacks and also took to the Senate floor to issue a blistering criticism of President Obama's handling of the situation in Benghazi.
Approached by CNN's Ted Barrett on Thursday, McCain said he had no comment on his schedule or "how I spend my time to the media." When Barrett pressed McCain, the senator became agitated.

Don't go away mad, you senile old incompetent fool, just go away. the Navy was right when they decided to get rid of "Wet Start Johnny" in 1967 (a decision you only reversed by being stupid enough to get yourself shot down, going back over the target you'd just bombed, and thereby demonstrating the truth of the Navy's decision.

Even worse was 1987, when ownership restrictions were lifted. Waning days of reagan.

Once upon a time, any individual Ma&Pa owner OR a major corporation could own only three properties in any one market - and it usually shook down to two radio stations, an AM and an FM, and also a TV station. You weren't allowed to gobble up a cluster of stations - maybe six or seven in the same city, all supposedly "competing" with each other. Now, anything goes. That really unleashed the hounds.

New parlor game: Casting the David Patraeus Sex Scandal Movie.

I got this from Current. Pretty funny - if not inevitable!
