calimary's JournalI read another thread here - I think it was nadin's (?) about the "Samson Option."
Wonder if that's ... well ... I don't even want to think about it.
VERY disturbing. And it would be a "final solution" for more than just Israel and the Palestinians, I fear.

BRILLIANT!!!! OMG!!!
Freakin' BRILLIANT!!!!!!! Who thought this up? Should get an award! I'm stealing this!
And Emma Lazarus.
She's the one who wrote the poem that is on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty - you know, the one that includes the wording "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, your wretched refuse... " It would be a really nice finger in the face to the teabaggers and racists and jingoists who are terrorizing those poor unaccompanied immigrant kids.
AND the three you cite, as well. Wouldn't a Rosa Parks coin or bill be a poke in the nose!?
ALL FOR IT!!! I'd love to see one of MY gender on there, and not just the figurative imaginary "Miss Liberty." She isn't a real person. But Rosa Parks and Harriet Tubman and Eleanor Roosevelt (!!!!) ARE, and WERE.
No kidding!
Arresting images. Probably what they all see in those smoke clouds over there.
Thank you, Chris.
I remember the avalanche of kindness and love and support I received the night my mom died. I couldn't believe it. It was overwhelming, and so incredibly sustaining. I have thought about it many, many times since, and it's always buoyed me up. One of a lot of reasons why I love this place.
This is so loving and supportive of you! I can only imagine what a difficult time for him and his family. Many of us can sympathize AND empathize, too. Hopefully it will give him strength and solace at this very strange, sorrowful, stressful time. You are a mighty good friend.
Say goodbye to the minority vote - FOREVER, assholes!
You'll get three or four African American votes from here on: herman "999" cain, michael steele, clarence thomas, and j.c. watts. I may have forgotten a few - so let's allow ten to 12.
Remember the republi-CONS railing about all those lazy moochers we liberals supposedly love
so much - all they want is free stuff! romney said that all the time, such a pejorative!
Well, ladies and gentlemen, let's all say hello to Governor Vaginal Probe and his lovely First Lady, Gimmee Freestuff!
Yeah, no kidding.
I'm 61. I've never seen it this bad, either. I don't remember it ever being this bad.
His worst crime is presidentin' while black. His second-worst crime is presidentin' while not a republi-CON. And that's the long and the short of it. (See "World's Biggest Entitlement Program" - as in the GOP's presumption that it is the GOP ALONE that is entitled to rule.)
Embarrassing, isn't it?
Thank you for this lovely photo! What a beautiful bride she was!
So sorry to hear what's happening now. It's so sad - I know quite a few people at the moment who are preparing for "that" moment, when they are forced to say farewell to a beloved mom or dad. They don't last us forever, do they?
I remember watching my father in his last few days. And the vibrant, active, interested-in-everything man I had known - was little more than a piece of meat. With a lot of wires and tubes coming out of him at various places on his body. It was awful. AWFUL. I so sympathize. It's one of those situations in which you don't know what to pray for - safe passage, or some sort of incomprehensible recovery? I was too cynical to hope for a miracle.
I send you love and strength and all the prayers I can think of. We all do, my friend.
Wow. Pretty well boils it down.
One reason why I find myself throwing up my hands on this. It's a problem that doesn't seem to have a satisfactory solution. Seems to me it might be time to stop squandering so much money and so many lives on it. Since we'll all be doing the same damn thing tomorrow, and the day after that...
and the day after that...
and the day after that...
and the day after that...
