Welcome to DU, brutus smith!
Indeed! It sounds like a decision she wrestled with. I think she made the right choice. Sad to see she's gotten nasty feedback, but then again, that kinda validates her decision.
Well, the political cartoonists certainly do get it.
That last one - the likenesses of Kerry, PRESIDENT Obama, Bibi, and trump - OUCH!
The pen really is mightier than the sword.
MAGNIFICENT! Again!!!
I hope it's everything you say. Hell, I'm even starting to wonder if this brings Jon Stewart and David Letterman out of retirement? Most of the media, I have no hope for. But the late night comedy monologues and SNL and political cartoonists WILL overrun the joint.
And for that, at least, I can't wait!
Welcome to DU, camelfan.
That sure seems like it to me, too. For all those who like to deflect directly to - "well, CARS kill people TOO! Do we have to ban all cars then?" - I like to point out that cars are not designed primarily To Kill. Cars are designed primarily For Transport. Someone may be killed in, or by being hit by a car. But that's not the specific purpose for which cars are designed and produced. However, that IS the specific purpose for which guns are designed and produced. What? We have guns so we can chop our vegetables efficiently? To do our nails? To shampoo our hair? Guns are meant to be used to harvest crops? Read to the blind? Drive carpool? Wrap gifts? Bake the birthday cake?
NO. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, and no. And no, some more. Guns are designed to kill. Secondarily to wound. But mainly to kill.
That would be something to see.
I've noticed there's a rather astounding number of invocations of the verb "impeach" and the noun "impeachment" - before this individual even takes the oath of office. More than I've ever seen, on the approach path to an Inauguration Day. More than I've ever seen, for ANY incoming President, in the four-or-so decades since I started keeping track. Serious and well-thought-out and credible mentions, too.
I'd LOVE to see him driven from office. Preferably before he starts World War III. Unfortunately, that'd leave us with a President Pence. Which is a nauseating thought, for sure. Only reassuring thing about that is - each of 'em would have only part of one term as POTUS, and hopefully wouldn't be able to get all that much done. Ahhh... to get a Dem back in the White House in 2020...
They'll get NO sympathy from me. NONE.
Not for an instant. Be careful what you wish for, trumpanzees.
