Just had a patient claiming a 'needle phobia' who had a tattoo you could see from orbit.



Had to defer lab testing for his condition, and of course, his immunizations. Who knew phobias could be selective?

"I'm afraid of heights on a telephone pole, but not on a rope ladder..." - That kind of thing...

The latest battleground in anti-vaxx nuttery: the package insert.

Their newest gambit in trying to discourage patients from getting immunized against deadly diseases.

"The only way for you to know what's in the vaccine is for the doctor to show you the package insert. But they don't show it to you, do they? "DO THEY?!?"

I tell you, for people who think vaccines are an evil plot concocted by the government and the pharmaceutical companies, they place a lot of trust in the package insert printed and placed by the pharmaceutical companies and required by law to be in there by the Federal government.

I was on a cruise recently when I overheard a woman complaining about how bored she was.

We were on the Lido Deck, with the most spectacular landscape of Alaska's Glacier Bay clearly visible out the windows behind her.

"I'm so bored with this cruise! I'm done. I'm just done..."

I expect if someone had tossed her overboard into the frigid waters of the bay, her boredom would have vanished pretty quickly...

Driving through Trump-country Eastern Washington yesterday, I saw a big 'Fuck Trump' sticker

on the rear cab window of a pickup truck.

It was a delight to see. I guess the tariffs are hitting Spokanistan and environs very hard...
