Can someone explain to me why it's impossible to like and admire both Bernie and Hillary?

Because I do.

I don't understand the bitter, bad-tempered tribalism of the Democratic Primary. I have my problems with both candidates, but neither of them makes me ashamed to believe what I believe. I'm sure there are some level-headed establishment Republicans out there who clutch their heads every time they see one of their primary contenders. But we Democrats are very fortunate to have fostered a culture of logic, reason, and commitment to public service that informs our primary candidates. Let's not treat them as if they were the same as the insane clown posse that is the Republican slate.

I suppose a plea of 'can't we just all get along?' will get its share of jeers. But regardless, I'm voting straight Democratic all the way down the ballot in the primary, and then again in the general. Flouncing off in a huff on Election Day without voting because our favorite candidate didn't clinch the nomination is the surest way to lose everything we have gained in the Obama Era, and end up worse than we were in 2008.

Vote.

Vote for the Democrat of your choice.

But vote!

Okay, who's holding the kryptonite? I've been 'blaarrrfff!'-sick for close to a week now.

I have the unfortunate habit of getting sick one symptom at a time. It makes for a weird recovery. I'll take a sick day, and go to work the next day. Then sick the next day, and well the day after.

Had to go home from work this morning with a new and exciting symptom, and I'll probably be taking tomorrow, too...

I hate being sick...
