Aristus's JournalYou know those powerless creeps who go through their lives constantly threatening to sue everyone?
Snivelling losers whose lack of accomplishment is due in equal parts to bad decision-making and a sense of entitlement?
That's Trump, but with (someone else's) money...
Friday Night Moscow Mule Buzz. Oh, God! What a week! Hold me!
One of the roughest weeks in clinic for a while. I had to give it my all; and, as is often the case, I find myself wondering if my all is enough. On the plus side, I felt like I practiced good medicine even during the roughest patches.
I'm fighting anti-vaxxers in GD, tooth and nail.
I'm seeing our nation sink further and further into squalor and criminal behavior as a new normal.
And in the midst of it all, I play the 'Jupiter' section of Gustav Holst's "The Planets", and cry tears of joy at the 'I Vow To Thee' middle section of the piece, which is beautiful, awe-inspiring, uplifting, hopeful, triumphant, and life-affirming. Sometime life truly is good.
I'm drunk. Be patient with me...
I love you all...
Whew! It's been months since someone tried to shake me down for opioids or benzos.
Today, I got four already.
And the day's only half over.
The weekend can't come fast enough...
Please...... *sob* ......think of the tanks......
&feature=shareWish me luck. I'm trying to keep a patient of mine from being deported.
I have visited with this patient for six years now. He's in his late sixties. He ran track and field for his country in the 1976 Olympics ( I won't say which country; a trip to the almanac could reveal his name.) and he's been homeless for about the last ten years. He's not a US citizen, and now the Trump government wants to deport him.
I wrote a letter just now disapproving him for overseas travel based on his medical condition. I'm hoping they will delay or cancel his deportation as a result. Be thinking good thoughts for my patient.
I never stop trying to encourage my patients to quit smoking.
When they sigh and say: "I'll try..." I want to go the full-Yoda on them:
"No! Try not! Do! Or do not! There is no try!"
What I actually do offer a lame: "Well, keep at it..." because doing this: hurts too much, and is bad for the thought-process.
Friday Night Wine Buzz.
Any night owls up?
I'm sorry this is so late. It's what I get for binge-watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel...
