Pajiba: "There are no bigger grifters than The Lincoln Project"

I know I've caught flack on DU for bad mouthing the Lincoln Project in the past. My main complaint is that their attacks are, in typical Republican politics, almost exclusively ad hominem attacks.

They talk about his philandering, but are silent about children being locked in cages. They ridicule him for being in debt and lying about his wealth, but never question the massive tax cuts he's used to bankrupt our children's future. They gut him on the cronyism and corruption that he funnels through his creepy children, but don't make a peep about climate change or court packing.

They tell us all the nasty things we want to hear about Trump, but they're critique it doesn't seem to go beyond the juicy gossip stage--they're just a different wrinkle on the politics of personality that Republicans have been using to diminish America's political debates for the last two generations.

In a world that needs to eat broccoli and whole grain bread, they're handing out sugar pills and diet soda. Now here's an article arguing they're mostly in it for the money and they're almost as corrupt as Trump.

The Lincoln Project Is The Biggest Grift Of Them All

{T}here are no bigger grifters than The Lincoln Project, the Never Trumpers who have been creating viral, anti-Trump ads all year long. We love those viral videos, because they effectively dunk on Trump (using low-hanging fruit), even if they donít move the needle very much. However, the Lincoln Project in and of itself is its own kind of grift, one that exploits liberals (including myself!) and Democrats who want to believe that there are good Republicans.

Saying you're a constitutional originalist is kind of lazy

You know how four years ago people were saying Donald Trump was a poor man's version of what a rich man would be like? I think originalism is a dumb person's idea of what a smart person would think. It's the Rubik's Cube of judicial philosophy. It's just a trick you learn and people who aren't knowledgeable about how the whole system works are impressed by the fancy finger work and the way the pretty colors all line up.

Some say Trumps impending balloon payments to Russian mobsters is a security threat. But don't worry

Trump told us years ago he's the king of debt! I'm sure he can handle this

A nice summary of the Trump family tax fraud

President Trump, Tax Fraud? runs about 33 minutes, but gives you a lot of insight into how they use their wealth to avoid pay taxes

Please don't say karma

Karma kills a quarter of a million Americans by mid-December

Trump gets his infection detected early, then gets world class medical care paid for by tax dollars he never contributed to. Not a bit of hydroxychloroquine.

And Americans are all going "Good job, karma!!"

*sigh*

We were afraid he was Benito Mussolini

Turns out, he was Basil Fawlty all along.

Guess who dodged a bullet

Trump, Biden skip handshakes, social distance at podiums for debate in shadow of coronavirus pandemic

President Trump and Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden will not shake hands at their first debate next week in Ohio due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, campaign sources told Politico.

The move is one of several adjustments the campaigns are ironing out to comply with social distances guidelines. An elbow-bump was considered but both campaigns decided that it would awkward.

Trump stating that there are higher covid death rates in "blue states" just stuns me

I always kinda suspected he doesn't mind people dying in Democratic states, but I never thought he'd come right out and state it.

Bob Woodward sat on this audiotape for 7 months

New Yorkers were planning Mass burials a month after this tape was made because they were running out of refrigerated trucks to handle the volume of bodies piling up.... and Bob Woodward thought he needed to sit on this another 6 months to help his book sales.

Trump is an amoral piece of shit who'd kill his own supporters if it would get him re-elected. He bragged about that 4 years ago. We knew that about him.

But I would have expected Bob Woodward to do something a little bit sooner because it would have saved lives.
