Congratulations , Republicans! Your refusal to bow to the limits society THOUGHT would never be

exceeded has given you yet another page in political history books.

We all---everyone!---felt certain that you could never engineer a Congressional candidate more truly STUPID than the likes of Louie Gohmert, Marjorie Taylor-Greene or Marsha Blackburn. But---Boy Howdy!---were we ever wrong!

Herschel Walker's IQ MAY be above room temperature, but I doubt it. I think if you Google "profoundly stupid" you should see his clueless grin. He makes Palin sound literate and eloquent and Trump sound well-read and educated.

Bravo, GOP! You have broken yet another record we thought would stand forever!

Women's suffrage. Civil rights. Same sex marriage. Legal marijuana.

All of these were once termed "IMPOSSIBLE!"---until they weren't.

Stricter gun laws?

"IMPOSSIBLE!"

That clause of our Constitution that guarantees every 18 year old the right to buy an AR-15?

It's right next to the part that outlaws abortion and adopts Christianity as our "official" religion.

That stuff is also straight out of the Bible, King James version, so----

Americans needs to be forced to see the gory, bloody, nauseating "inconvenient truth".

They need to be shown that when a round from an AR-15 strikes a 7-year-old's wrist, it leaves the hand dangling from the little arm by a shred of flesh.

They need to know that high velocity bullets often blow CHUNKS OF RED MEAT off the bodies they are fired into.

They need to have the PREDICTABLE---INEVITABLE---results of allowing any young man with the price to purchase two exquisitely efficient people-killing machines on his 18th birthday displayed in color on the evening news.

The babies in Uvalde were murdered YESTERDAY. Why do you imagine some have yet to be identified? We need to SEE why.

I will sob with you, but---damn it!---we are OBLIGATED to witness what the Republican party has wrought!

In the past, the first stage in responding to life-threatening situations was determining what

needed to be done in order to reduce or remove the danger. In response to small pox, polio and even Hitler's Nazis, we figured out how to prevent or defeat them and then---we did what needed doing.

Today, we seem to know what to do about gun deaths and women's rights to control their own bodies and literally dozens of criminals who participated in an attempt to overthrow the US government on January 6th, 2021.

It remains to be seen if we have the gumption to do what needs doing.

There are two possible alternatives which could greatly decrease these horrific

school shootings.

We could EITHER hire a trained armed guard to be stationed at each school door AND train and arm all teachers, school administrators, office staff and custodians AND provide each student with a protective "ballistic blanket" AND require all schools to hold frequent "active shooter drills" to prepare kids for the real thing-------

we could outlaw assault weapons and high capacity magazines and prevent violent or mentally ill people from possessing ANY firearms.



Why not choose the simpler cheaper more effective alternative?

Two contradictions with which I am totally comfortable: I refuse to tolerate intolerance and

I really hate haters.

In a nutshell, that's why I have no Republican friends.

"There are more of us than there are of them" no longer seems to mean much.

A majority of Americans wants significant gun control legislation.

A majority of Americans wants Roe preserved.

A majority of Americans oppose voter suppression.

A majority of Americans thinks the "Big Lie" is embarrassingly silly.

The "voice of the people" is being throttled by corporate cash, bible-thumping Philistines and political prostitutes.

This cannot stand.

Could we stop wringing our hands and whining each time one of ours makes an

"inelegant statement"?

You can be sure there are hordes of RWNJ's ready to pounce on and amplify anything a Democrat says that they can make sound terrible. If nothing is said, they'll just make something up. This is a given---to be expected.

What should not be expected is one of us publicly agonizing about "Why did he/she say that? This is going to offend/shock/piss off potential voters! OMG! OMG!"

Yeah, I know we are free to criticize our own, but I am just suggesting that we cut our own some slack and remember that there really is no comparison between their thousands of intentional lies and our handful of misstatements.
