Atticus
Atticus's JournalCould someone please explain why Madison Cawthorn is such a terrible embarrassment
that virtually all the rest of the GOP is "disowning" him while they have no problem with Taylor-Greene, Gaetz, Boebert, Jordan, Gosar, etc., etc., etc.?
Would this solve the Proud Boys/Three-Percenters/Oath Keepers problem?
Howzabout we just send all of them a free package of Odor-Eater shoe inserts. Next time they lace up their "lib-stompers" they take five---maybe six---steps and just "disappear"!
This could improve the environment in more ways than one, amiright?
How would we react if terrorists kidnapped Donald Trump
and threatened to RELEASE him if their demands weren't met?
As Hannity says, "Just asking---"
I would imagine that the haters are pretty darn proud of themselves.
Not that long ago, if you wanted to hear white supremacist militia-speak, you had to venture out into remote rural areas where a motley crew of pudgy panting "GI Joe wannabes" were grateful for the chance to spew their malignant nonsense.
Nowadays, the same vile targetting of "the Others" is proudly shouted onto social media by male and female members of Congress who still call themselves "Republicans".
Is this not already the "civil war" that some were ridiculed for fearing just a handful of years ago?
Was Buffalo simply one more one-sided battle in this conflict?
I am having one of those days when I bounce back and forth between being exhilarated by
the magnitude of all there is to learn and being crushed by the magnitude of all that I do not and never will know.
Right now I am feeling awfully puny and leaning towards "crushed".
I either think too much or not well enough.
A little more Tolkien---for those in shadow.
"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, its only a passing thing this shadow. Even darkness must pass.
So---Ms Birx-with-a-book, what woulda done it? Did you even have a "red line"?
After praising Trump's ability to "analyze" medical and scientific info, you uncritically stood with him as he minimized the danger of the covid pandemic, recommended hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin and suggested somehow ingesting or injecting ultraviolet light and harsh chemical disinfectants.
Is there ANYTHING you would not have let pass uncontradicted? Was there no "bridge too far"?
Well, I did it! I went to a barber and lost my substantial ponytail.
Thanks to covid,I had gone 28 months without a cut and it was an interesting experience. I had a short "Paul Revere" ponytail nearly 55 years ago, but this was different.
I noticed that people look at gray ponytails very differently in this community. If a younger man has a ponytail, a full bushy beard AND drives a jacked-up pickup with Trump and Confederate flags flying from it, he's "one o' the boys". But, if a 70-something guy has a ponytail and drives an EV with signs saying "TRUMP BELONGS IN PRISON!", he is obviously a "dirty fucking communist hippie".
In the end, I decided I preferred my usual easier-to-care-for shorter hair. I'm too unconcerned with appearances and too lazy to have long hair. Besides, I have plenty of other attributes that piss people off.
I just heard this CASUALLY stated by CNN reporter: "--- a surge (in PA) by Ms Barnette who
APPEALS MORE TO THE REPUBLICAN GRASSROOTS---"
This is the woman who is even too "Trumpy" for Trump----a bigoted, racist homophobe who opposes ALL abortions with NO exceptions!
Hillary was being kind when she referred to these mean-spirited idiots as just "deplorable".
