As you read Judge Benitez's recent 94 page decision holding California's assault weapon ban
unconstitutional, the full impact of the "Trump Principle" bludgeons your conscience into insensibility.
Lying is no longer called wrong or immoral or dishonest or any of those "judgmental" terms. With a shameless arrogance that would make Big Brother envious, those who adopt the Trump Principle are free to simply redefine "quaint" notions like right, wrong, facts, truth---any previously respected quality that now seems inconvenient. If you are able to win, how you won doesn't matter at all.
Saying that something is so---makes it so. Therefore, the number of Americans shot with assault rifles is "infinitismally small" because---well, that's what Judge Benitez said to support his position that there was no reason to ban these rifles.
So, you see, the Trump Principle can be very useful---if you are just shameless enough to use it.

---He studies for prostate exams.
---He failed the entrance exam for Trump University.
---He thinks condominiums are for birth control and disease prevention.
---Finally, he voted for Trump---TWICE!
If we lose control of Congress in these upcoming midterms, do not assume that there will
be a "next election" that means anything. I think it likely that a Trump Party Congress would impeach, convict and remove President Biden and possibly also Vice President Harris. The 2024 "election" would be decided by Congress as they simply would refuse to confirm ANY Democrat.
That the Trumpies are intent on stealing the midterms is no longer really a subject of debate. GOP state legislators are working tirelessly across the nation to make it as difficult as possible for people who might "vote wrong" to cast their ballots. Taking their cue from their Dear Leader, they no longer hesitate to "say the quiet part out loud" and have adopted shameless arrogance as "the Republican way". They are ready and willing to do ANYTHING---no exceptions or restrictions--- to win control of the Congress, the next and last election and the nation's future.
Those citizens who are able to stay registered or get re-registered and make their way to the long lines at the new distant polling places chosen by Trump loyalists may find themselves confronted by angry partisan Trumpist "poll watchers". And, you know what? They've got to do that and we've got to help them.
As long as we are healthy, we will be voting early in Illinois so we will be free to canvass again in Ohio or Wisconsin or WHEREVER we can help get our voters out on election day. We will be contributing financially to help fund a legal strike force capable of responding to the Trump cults theft attempts. If we lose the Congress in 2022, I don't want it to be because I was sitting on my ass whining about how "mean" those damn Trumpies are. Stuff needs doing.
Again---don't assume there'll be another election if we lose this one. All our chips are on the table.
The inherent danger of the "Big Tent" is that those who only occasionally or casually pay
attention to politics may come to the conclusion that we don't really "stand for" anything.
If anything between genuine communism and fascistic autocracy are "acceptable" in our party, won't the independents and casual voters see our policies as "meh"?
Please don't start accusing me of suggesting a "purity test" and don't ask me to spend hours detailing what I believe Democrats "should" believe. Generally speaking, I think our approaches and policies may certainly differ, but our GOALS should be pretty much in agreement.
My purpose is not to offend or exclude anyone. I just want to hear what some of you folks think.
In the past, we've had sit-ins and die-ins. Maybe it's time for "laugh-ins".

Trump HATES being laughed at and ridiculed. If a relatively small group of dedicated people were to gather at one point on his known route or outside his scheduled "appearances" and then simply pointed at him and laughed long and loudly---ON VIDEO---I believe the television machine would play it on the evening news and it could go viral on-line.
There could be different groups in all regions who would stage a "laugh in" any time Trump was in their territory---maybe using "flash mob" tactics. It would not require a lot of time or travel for any one activist, but would make it clear that people everywhere think Trump is a laughable figure.
Trump would be furious!
Federal law requires election officials to "maintain and preserve" all ballots and related election
documents for 22 months after the election. "Maintaining and preserving" requires maintaining a "chain of custody", which means, in plain terms, being able to document where the ballots were AT ALL TIMES and in whose custody and control they were AT ALL TIMES.
Not only have the election officials in Arizona failed to maintain a chain of custody, they have apparently allowed some ballots to be taken to a "secret" location in Montana.
I have just one question: when do these clowns get arrested and prosecuted?

As I consider possible vacation destinations, it occurs to me that there are easily over 20 states
that we would consider "hostile territory". Not only will we not visit these states, we will do everything possible to avoid travelling through them. If we absolutely must pass through one, it will be a non-stop transit.
Just for example, why would any rational person voluntarily enter Texas, knowing that any racist Trump-humper over 18 is free to openly carry a firearm into any restaurant, service station or interstate rest stop?
I prefer to vacation somewhere where my "Does Your Trump Sticker Make You Feel Stupid Yet?" bumper sticker isn't likely to draw gunfire.
