Maybe it's time to permanently retire the "Box o' Rocks" award.

For as long as I can remember, when someone did or said something that was jaw-dropping head-slapping STUPID, folks would say the person was "dumber than a box o' rocks". There was a bit of competition for a few years by those promoting the "dumber than a bag of hammers" award, but that never displaced the more traditional way to recognize the truly incredibly obtuse.

The award should go---for all time---to Donald Trump.

His recent editorial---which someone else wrote for him, of course---explaining in what he thought was great detail why he was suing "Big Tech" for violating his freedom of speech as guaranteed by the he First Amendment clinches his entitlement to the B.O.R.

As simply stated as I can manage, the First Amendment DOES NOT AT ALL APPLY to actions by private individuals or companies. It says THE GOVERNMENT may not infringe upon or prohibit our right to speak our minds.

Trump's suit against "Big Tech" makes about as much sense as him suing them for divorce.

Trump can display the "Box O' Rocks" next to his Nobel Prize and all those Time Magazine covers he graced.

At high enough concentrations, the Trump cocktail of equal parts willful ignorance

and sheer stupidity becomes toxic to our nation's health.

How close are we to a domestic Jonestown?

As someone who browses YouTube videos, I wonder if others here are aware of "Redpill".

Succinctly stated, this is a site that posts numerous videos dedicated to how stupid, slutty and cruel women are.

Seriously.

You cannot imagine a more disgusting embarrassment to the male sex than this crew of whiny wankers. They basically post sentiments on line which---duh!---quickly explain why women "discriminate" against them.

Just wanted to let you know what to avoid clicking on if you go to YouTube.

Woody's question is just as relevant today:

"Which side are you on, boys?
Which side are you on?

Oh, workers can you stand it?
Oh, tell me how you can
Will you be a lousy scab
Or will you be a man?

Which side are you on, boys?
Which side are you on?

Don't scab for the bosses
Don't listen to their lies
Poor folks ain't got a chance
Unless they organize

Which side are you on, boys?
Which side are you on?"

What else do we need to know? There is so much evidence and so many examples

of Trump's traitorous criminality that eyes would glaze over if I even summarized the offenses.

Simply stated, if Trump does not eventually go to prison and forfeit whatever wealth he actually possesses, anyone who dares to recite "no man is above the law" will be considered a fool or worse.

Don't misunderstand me---there have always been examples of wealthy and powerful people escaping the justice that we ordinary mortals would have experienced. But, we always TRIED---we always before considered these escapes to be the questionable exceptions.

When we are urged to "move on" and let history judge Trump, know this: if we do, history will judge US.

How many Americans will dithering kill?

Why are we not REQUIRING covid vaccinations for just about everyone? The vaccines have not gone through the usual FDA process for full "approval", but are authorized for emergency use. This is an emergency.

Right now, 99.2% of the covid cases are UNvaccinated people and the latest "variant", Delta, is much much more transmissible. Variants are caused by mutations that occur relatively rarely when the virus replicates itself in a newly infected person. And, even though these mutations are rare, as long as millions of unvaccinated people are available as "hosts", odd are that more variants will be created.

We KNOW that mass vaccinations would save tens or hundreds of thousands of American lives. The writing on the wall predicts a likely resurgence of covid cases beginning this fall, primarily among the millions of the unvaccinated.

When cases increase, hospitalizations increase.

When hospitalizations increase, deaths increase.

And, while we vaccinated folks are well-protected against the original covid virus and all known variants, what about the variants yet to rise from among the unvaccinated who will be the petri dishes in which the mutations can survive and flourish?

"Dithering"---not a very exciting term but it may be the death of someone we know; someone we love.

If someone bumps into you once on a crowded sidewalk, there is ample reason go

assume the collision was accidental.

If the same person bumps into you again a little harder the next day at the same place on the same sidewalk, you may call that a weird coincidence.

But, if you receive painful jolts from this person on a daily basis for the rest of the week and beyond, at some point the bruises are YOUR fault: you have, by your silence and inaction, given your batterer PERMISSION to hurt you.

If anyone thinks the above situation is comparable to the daily barrages of racist, vulgar, transparently stupid lies spewed by the moral pygmies on the other side of the aisle, well, gee---you just might have something there.

I have the utmost respect for President Biden and am grateful for his leadership. I was

encouraged by both the language and the passion in the speech I just heard and watched him give about how vital passage of the "For The People Act" is to the very SURVIVAL of our democracy. But,-------

----tell me how this legislation gets passed without at least a "carve out" from the filibuster.

I have no knowledge about what sort of communication is taking place between the White House and the duo of Manchin and Sinema. I hope it is being made "pellucidly clear" to them that "Yes, we really mean it---the very survival of our democracy as we know it depends on passing this Act. This is bigger than anyone's reputation or their reelection chances. You can either help us save our nation or you can allow it to perish."

I am tired of hearing how we "need" these two. We only need them if our democracy survives '22. If it does not, no Democrat or non-Trumpie will really matter.

We are such damn hypocrites.

Now, Cubans flood the streets all over their island nation to demand more freedom and a better government as that government's troops and police gather. And, we applaud them.

When millions of Polish people clogged the streets and filled the squares to support the anti-government Solidarity movement in the face of threats from communists determined to hold their power---we applauded them.

When tens or hundreds of thousands of Chinese packed into Tiananmen Square to face tanks and machine guns in protest of the totalitarian government, we cheered them wildly and wept as they were overcome by their brutal leaders.

But, when McConnell shamelessly stole the Gorsuch SCOTUS seat--whenTrump solicited, accepted and was placed in power with the assistance of Putin and his thugs---when Barr hid the Mueller report's 10 obstruction of justice allegations against Trump---when Republicans refused to convict Trump when he was impeached twice and Democrats presented "slam dunk" evidence at each Senate trial and when thousands of violent Insurrectionists stormed our Capitol at Trump's urging to steal back the election that that madman LOST, WE SAT AT HOME AND POSTED about how terribly unfair and unAmerican it all was.

That'll show 'em!
