Hello from Judge McFadden's virtual courtroom, where a hearing is set to begin soon on J6 defendant Brandon Fellows, who is accused, for a second time, of violating some of his pretrial release conditions. More here:

@ZoeTillman
Prosecutors are trying for a second time to have Jan. 6 defendant Brandon Fellows' pretrial release revoked — this time they say he left a "very disturbing" voicemail for his supervision officer and repeatedly failed to call in when he's supposed to https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/20791908/5-27-21-us-motion-to-revoke-release-brandon-fellows.pdf

Meanwhile, DOJ has sent out a fact sheet in advance of tomorrow, which marks 150 days since the Jan. 6 riots. Highlights:
~465 people arrested from nearly every state + DC
~130 people charged with assaulting/interfering with police
~200 charged w/ obstructing official proceeding

Back to the Brandon Fellows hearing: Judge is asking about his mental health, and whether there are issues there that are behind his compliance problems. Probation officer is recc'ing at least an eval; AUSA argues he continues to disregard the "privilege" the court has given him

Judge heard that Fellows has been in compliance with his call-in requirements since the govt filed the latest notice of noncompliance; AUSA argues that it's logical that he'd suddenly comply now that he's potentially in trouble again

Zoe Tillman
@ZoeTillman
Fellows' lawyer argues they should try getting him mental health services before revoking his pretrial release and sending him to jail. She argues his conduct was bad, but didn't mean he was a danger or a flight risk, and maybe he could do better with compliance once he gets help

Judge will allow Brandon Fellows to go home and will try getting him mental health services to see if that improves his compliance with pretrial release conditions. So no pretrial detention for now, but the judge warns: "Don't expect any more chances."

Zoe Tillman
@ZoeTillman
Judge warns Fellows that beyond the question of pretrial release, his behavior would be a factor at sentencing if the case gets to that point: "You are just digging the hole deeper for yourself."

"I would be trying to be on my very best behavior and making friends for myself."

[THREAD] Last time we checked in on Brandon Fellows he was giving interviews to local TV in his insurrection costume and comparing his situation to the Holocaust. You may be shocked to learn he has been *ARRESTED AGAIN*

@seditiontrack
Fellows was initially placed under house arrest but the judge later relaxed those conditions and gave him a 9PM curfew. What nobody knew at the time was that he had already stolen $700 from a couple just days after the insurrection.

He then promptly violated the curfew twice and also lied to pretrial services by telling them he had left messages explaining his curfew violations. Of course there were no messages.

Meanwhile the couple he defrauded went to the State Police to report the theft.

Sedition Track
@seditiontrack
Fellows agreed to turn himself in to the State Police on March 8 but he never showed up. He eventually turned himself in and was arrested six weeks later after they contacted him *AGAIN*. He also failed to report all of this to pretrial services (another violation).

Federal prosecutors asked the judge to revoke his bail and send him back to jail until trial. Incredibly, the judge denied the request and ordered him back into home confinement instead.

The former president is actively pulling a huge percentage of contributions away from the RNC to his own PAC. The small percentage of it that won’t go in his pockets will be used solely against ‘disloyal’ RINOs. This election cycle for the GOP is going to be a Trump-induced mess.

“I had just climbed the west wall lol."

U.S. Marine veteran Carey Jon Walden was arrested in Kansas City in connection with the Capitol attack. Feds interviewed him back on Feb. 3 after receiving a tip.

“This is from my Facebook,” he wrote on a printout of his Facebook post.

“I, Carey J. Walden, climbed a wall into the Capitol building on 6 Jan 21, at approx 1:00pm to 1:30pm. I took pictures and videos of where I entered. I went into a broken window, which was already broken… I fist bumped and ‘Devil horned’ the swat line.”

Walden actually has an initial appearance right now (which is probably why the court just got around to unsealing this). I happened upon it when I called in for another hearing. Don’t see any coverage of the case. He was arrested last Wednesday, May 28.

Donald Trump’s latest statement praises Pennsylvania Sen. Doug Mastriano, who was repeatedly photographed with a Jan. 6 suspect currently on the FBI’s Capitol wanted list. Their most recent photo together was at a Giuliani event last month: https://huffpost.com/entry/samuel-lazar-trump-mastriano-capitol-attack_n_60a31164e4b03e1dd38d718e

Doug Mastriano, who spent campaign cash on buses to D.C. on Jan. 6, trespassed onto restricted Capitol grounds and was feet away as the pro-Trump mob ripped down police barricades during the Capitol attack.

Samuel Lazar — aka FBI Capitol suspect no. 275 — was essentially a Mastriano groupie. His family has a cult-like devotion to Mastriano, who boosted his political career on the Big Lie. #facepaintblowhard https://huffpost.com/entry/samuel-lazar-trump-mastriano-capitol-attack_n_60a31164e4b03e1dd38d718e
