Ghislaine Maxwell moved to a low-security prison in Florida for 20-year sentence

Source: ABC News

Ghislaine Maxwell has been moved to a low-security federal prison in Florida to serve her 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).

Maxwell, who has filed notice that she intends to appeal her conviction and sentence, is currently listed as an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee.

She was moved on Friday, according to a source close to the defense. The facility is different than what Maxwell’s attorneys had requested. They asked that she serve her time in Danbury, Connecticut.

Maxwell, 60, was found guilty of conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to recruit, groom and abuse minors.

Dallas Love Field shooting suspect shot by police, no one else injured

KDFW

DALLAS - A woman who opened fire inside Dallas Love Field is now in the hospital after being shot by Dallas police officers.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. Monday near the Southwest Airlines ticket counter on the public side of TSA security. Images from SKY 4 show the entrance to the ticketing area blocked off with crime scene tape.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia said a 37-year-old woman who was dropped off at the airport went into the restroom, changed her clothing and then came out with a handgun. She fired several shots toward the ceiling before officers engaged her and shot her in the lower extremities.

The woman was taken into custody and taken to the hospital. No one else was hurt, the police chief said.

Motion to oppose same-sex marriage forces rethink of Anglican summit

The Guardian

The archbishop of Canterbury has been forced into a last-minute rethink of plans to ask Anglican bishops to oppose same-sex marriage when they meet this week for the first Lambeth conference – held in Canterbury – in 14 years.

Liberal Anglicans and gay rights campaigners in the Church of England voiced outrage after the conference recently circulated a series of “calls” – similar to motions – for the 650 bishops and archbishops from around the world to consider.

They included one that calls for a reaffirmation of a position that “upholds marriage as between a man and a woman”, that “legitimising or blessing of same-sex unions” cannot be advised, and that “it is the mind of the Anglican communion as a whole that same-gender marriage is not permissible”.

The bishop of Los Angeles, the Right Rev John H Taylor, was among those aghast at the call, warning the conference was on course to register support for a position that “divides, hurts, scapegoats and denies”.

World's Oldest Murder Mystery Was 430,000 Years in the Making

The first known murder was just as brutal as any other. The attacker smashed the victim twice in the head, leaving matching holes above the victim’s left eyebrow. The dead body was then dropped down a 43-foot shaft into a cave—where it lay for nearly half a million years.

Talk about your cold case.

Paleontologists pieced together the 430,000-year-old skull and reported their forensic analysis Wednesday in the journal PLOS ONE. Injuries to the skull represent the oldest direct evidence of homicide, the scientists say.

As for whether this was the first murder ever to occur, “for sure that’s not the case,” says Nohemi Sala, lead author of the study. The scientists can describe this victim as a young adult, but the age and even gender are unknown.

Remember when people assumed we couldn't get a fair jury for the Derek Chauvin trial?

Remember when people assumed we couldn’t get a fair jury for the Steve Bannon trial?

Perhaps people need more confidence in the judicial process and the professional abilities of the criminal justice prosecutors.

Trump Wanted to Take Back Jan. 7 Speech Admitting Biden Would Be President

Source: Rolling Stone

“The day after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, then-President Trump released a video finally, reluctantly agreeing to a transfer of power to the ‘new’ Biden administration. As soon as two days after the release of the White House video, however, Donald Trump wanted a mulligan,”.

“A person with direct knowledge of the matter tells Rolling Stone that Trump told aides who were sticking by him that he wanted to deliver another speech to the nation, one in which he would double-down on the lie that the 2020 presidential election was ‘stolen’ via ‘fraud.'”
