The childs mother, who was taken to a north London hospital days before the birth with suspected pneumonia, has also caught the virus.

The NHS trust has confirmed that two patients tested positive for coronavirus, with staff in close contact with them during treatment now being advised to self-isolate.

Poll: Kelly opens up double-digit lead against McSally in Arizona Senate race
Source: The Hill
Democratic Senate candidate Mark Kelly (D) has a 12-point lead over Sen. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) in the Arizona Senate race, according to a Univision poll released Friday.
Kelly, a former astronaut, is challenging McSally, who lost the general election in 2018 to Sen. Krysten Sinema (D). McSally was later appointed to the Senate to succeed interim Sen. Jon Kyl (R), who filled Sen. John McCain's (R) seat following his death in 2018.
In the Univision poll, Kelly earned 48 percent support among registered voters, while McSally earned 36 percent support. Kelly polled significantly better than his opponent among Latino and black voters.
However, the Univision poll isn't the first sign of an uphill battle for McSally. A poll released earlier this week by OH Predictive Insights, a Phoenix-based polling firm, showed Kelly with 49 percent support among Arizona voters, compared with 42 percent for McSally.

The President may have to revise his remarks...again
Google is not building a nationwide coronavirus screening websiteFollowing President Donald Trump's national emergency declaration in response to COVID-19, @Google_Comms said that Verily, a division of Google's parent company Alphabet, is in the "early stages of development" of a "tool to help triage individuals for Covid-19 testing" but that the triage website is not nationwide or live. When it becomes active, the site will only direct people to "pilot sites" in the San Francisco Bay Area with the "hope of expanding more broadly over time."

Sanders: Coronavirus has 'radically changed our campaign'
PoliticoThe remarks from the Vermont senator came after a roughly 15-minute speech he delivered from his hometown of Burlington, where he discussed the lessons Americans could learn from the coronavirus and argued that its rapid spread demonstrated the need for his Medicare for All policy proposal.
But following his brief address, Sanders was pressed by reporters on what the brutal political realities of the pandemic meant for his campaign. Thats why Im here today, he said with a wink and a smile, before turning somber.
Youre right, it has significantly impacted our campaign, as all of you know, Sanders said, describing his love for the massive rallies and more intimate town hall meetings his campaign has begun canceling in the wake of the burgeoning outbreak.
Inslee expands coronavirus school closure to all Washington K-12 schools
Source: Seattle Times
OLYMPIA Gov. Jay Inslee was set to announce Friday that he is mandating the closure of all Washington schools from Monday, March 17, through at least April 24.
The move comes one day after Inslee said he was using an executive order to mandate K-12 school closures in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties for those same dates.
Since then, school districts here have begun planning for ways to get core services, such as food, to families. Meanwhile, closures spread across the country, from Oregon to Ohio to Los Angeles, as officials everywhere ramped up their efforts to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Shutting schools statewide affects more than just instruction. Schools are a critical lifeline for low-income families, who rely on schools to provide free or reduced-price lunch and often other meals each day.

Uh oh! Trump will speak without a teleprompter
https://twitter.com/rgoodlaw/status/1238541284266201090Doctor Sanjay Gupta on CNN: Less value in COVID-19 testing once it's endemic
There's no vaccine so no need to identify individual patients to be treated. On a community level, you probably assume that everyone does have it already, so no value in individual checks.
Kennedy suspends campaign activities for a week due to coronavirus outbreak

Massachusetts Senate contender Rep. Joe Kennedy III's (D) campaign announced on Friday it will suspend all activity for one week amid the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S.
The campaign will instead focus on its digital platforms, communicating with Massachusetts voters on the virus.
The directive includes the suspension of all fundraising and voter contact, with the exception of communication on the virus, for at least one week. All campaign staff are also required to work from home.
Campaign manager Nick Clemons said in a statement that the team will reassess the situation by the end of the day on March 20.

Things Losing Candidates Say...
Roll CallIm running a grass-roots campaign. This translates to: Im not going to raise any money. Running an effective grass-roots and get-out-the-vote operation is important for a campaign, but winning a competitive House or Senate race requires multiple millions of dollars to make your case in paid advertising.
The only poll that matters is the poll on Election Day. This doesnt guarantee defeat in the upcoming election, but it means you are losing the race at the time and have no empirical evidence to the contrary. Its up to the candidate to change the dynamic of the race.
Im the next [insert big name politician here]. This means the campaign strategy is to emulate a previous candidate who overcame nearly impossible odds to win their own race. Whether a candidate is invoking Republican Scott P. Browns special election victory in Massachusetts or then-Illinois Sen. Barack Obamas improbable presidential run, its probably unlikely that the candidate using this phrase will be able to replicate those victories.
Im not going to run any negative ads. This is one way to virtually guarantee defeat. We can argue about the definition of negative, but campaigns are about contrasts. And successful campaigns rarely let the opponent run unscathed and define himself or herself only on their own terms. The caveat to this is if outside groups run negative ads on behalf of a candidate. But if youre a candidate who wins without running negative ads, then you were probably going to win anyway.
