Biden Aides Provided Questions in Advance for His Radio Interviews

New York Times

The questions asked of President Biden by two radio interviewers this week were provided in advance to the hosts by members of Mr. Biden’s team, one of the hosts said Saturday morning on CNN.

Andrea Lawful-Sanders, the host of “The Source” on WURD in Philadelphia, said Biden officials provided her with a list of eight questions ahead of the interview on Wednesday.

“The questions were sent to me for approval; I approved of them,” she told Victor Blackwell, the host of “First of All” on CNN. Asked if it was the White House that sent the questions to her in advance, she said it was.

“I got several questions — eight of them,” she said. “And the four that were chosen were the ones that I approved.”

Reality Check - the angst about President Biden isn't just by the media and the misled...

My candidate funding circle (which is significant enough to get Nancy Pelosi and Hakeem Jeffries to moderate our campaign events) has been talking for days about the Biden situation and a growing number of members -- highly informed and politically engaged -- are saying Biden should step aside. Yelling that they're "bed-wetters" or "spineless weaklings" isn't going to address the problem.

"This sucks. I want to go back to being famous."

As the game “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” suggests, actor Kevin Bacon is pretty famous, and has been for a long time.

The “Footloose” and “Friday the 13th” actor – who’s been in the business for well over 40 years and has two movies out this week, “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” and “MaXXXine” – spoke to Vanity Fair for an interview published on Friday in which he discussed his longtime status as a highly recognizable star, and how he recently tried to see how the other half lived.

“I went to a special effects makeup artist, had consultations, and asked him to make me a prosthetic disguise,” Bacon told the outlet.

Once outfitted and incognito, he went to The Grove – one of the most visited and populous commercial centers in Los Angeles – and was thrilled to discover that “nobody recognized” him.

He was thrilled at first, to be clear, but that soon faded.

Biden at peace if he loses to Trump: "As long as I gave it my all"

Source: Axios

President Biden indicated in an interview with ABC News Friday that he would be at peace if he lost to former President Trump "as long as I gave it my all."

Why it matters: Biden is under growing pressure to step aside as the Democratic nominee in the wake of his disastrous debate performance last week, especially given the stakes of a potential Trump second term.

...snip...

What they're saying: "If you stay in and Trump is elected and everything you're warning about comes to pass, how will you feel in January?" Stephanopoulos asked Biden.

"I'll feel, as long as I gave it my all, and I did as good a job as I know I can do, that's what this is about," the president responded.

"The Case for Kamala"

Political Wire

A document titled “The Case for Kamala” — purportedly written by senior Democratic operatives — says bluntly: “Like it or not, there’s one realistic path out of this mess: Kamala.”

CNN reports the document “has been popping up in group chats of Democratic donors and leading coalition groups. It lays out a detailed argument and plan for a campaign.”

Biden Digs In, Declares He Is Staying in Presidential Race

Source: Bloomberg

President Joe Biden declared he was staying in the presidential race and denounced efforts to push him out during a visit to swing-state Wisconsin, kicking off a furious effort to restore the faith of voters, donors and party officials deeply skeptical of his fitness for office.

“Let me say it as clearly as I can, I’m staying in the race,” Biden, 81, said Friday during a campaign stop in the state capital of Madison. “I’ll beat Donald Trump.”

In a revamped stump speech that directly addressed questions about his age, Biden said those imploring him to end his bid were trying to overturn the will of Democratic primary voters. He said his age wouldn’t stop him from pushing for abortion rights or gun control laws.

“I keep seeing all those stories about my being too old,” Biden said. “Let me say something — I wasn’t too old to create over 15 million new jobs.”
