Dear trof:
Thank you for contacting me with your concerns regarding the ongoing investigation into Russias interference in the 2016 election and President Trumps firing of FBI Director James Comey.
Let me be clear: the 2016 election is over and nothing indicates that any conduct by Russia had an effect on the outcome of the election. After a hard fought campaign, President Donald J. Trump was duly elected President by the American people.
That said, any attempted interference by any country, including through members of a presidential campaign, is unacceptable and must be investigated. For that reason, I support the ongoing investigations into this issue by the United States Congress and the Department of Justice.
In the House of Representatives, the Select Committee on Intelligence and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform have ongoing bipartisan investigations into this matter. In the Senate, the relevant committees of jurisdiction are also conducting their own investigations. I have complete confidence in my congressional colleagues leading these investigations to be thorough and nonpartisan in their assessment and to get to the bottom of this issue.
On May 17, 2017, Assistant Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed former FBI Director Robert Muller as special counsel to investigate this matter for the Department of Justice (DOJ). Special Counsels operate independently within the DOJ to investigate sensitive matters of potential wrong doing. Director Muller has received bipartisan praise, and I also have the highest confidence in his ability to complete this important task.
Although I recognize some Americans have concerns that President Trumps firing of FBI Director James Comey will influence the DOJ investigation, the Acting Director of the FBI has indicated this is not the case. Many Republicans and Democrats had called for Director Comeys firing before and after the election due to his poor performance as head of the FBI, and the President had complete authority to fire him for any reason under federal law. However, the appointment of Director Muller should give all Americans confidence in the continued impartiality of this investigation by the Department of Justice.
In the digital age, it is easy to jump to conclusions and convict individuals of wrongdoing based upon the latest breaking news. That is not how the American system works. Rather than jumping to judgment, it is important that we collect all the facts and allow time for the nonpartisan investigatory process to play out.
Please be assured, as your Congressman, I will continue to monitor this issue closely and keep your thoughts in mind.
I am honored to serve as your voice in Congress, and I hope you will stay in touch. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can ever be of assistance to you.

Anybody else have 'spot blindness'?
Spot Blindness: If an item is not in the exact same location where you last placed it, or if it's not in the exact same location where it been for days, weeks, or months, you can't see it.
It could be a foot or two away, in plain view, but if it's not where you're used to seeing it, it goes 'invisible'.
I suffer from this and I know a few 'elderly' men who also do.
You?
Me an' Earl, my redneck buddy.
Earl voted for tRump.
I heard him say so and it damn broke my heart..
We've been close friends for a long time.
He is a self-proclaimed redneck, but he ain't stupid.
Stupid doesn't make more money than I'll ever dream about seeing and I'm 76.
Earl is 79.
He is one of the most generous people I know.
If you're down on your luck, Earl is glad to give you a hand up.
He thinks everyone is 'good people' unless they prove otherwise.
Yesterday I said "This Special Counsel appointment doesn't look good for tRump."
"Aw, they just oughta leave the guy alone and let him do his job for four years."
As smart as he is in business, Earl just doesn't get it.
That's where most of tRump's supporters are.
I told Earl it was a big deal with the Russia thing and that we'd just have to agree to disagree.
Damn.
Why is it, in old movies...
If you put a hanky over the phone mic it completely disguises your voice?
Today: "Sam? Is that you? You sound like you're talking through a handkerchief. Got a cold?"
Trump's trip: What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
I can hardly wait.
I just hope he doesn't get us in another war.
Tucker Carlson. He of the permanently knitted eyebrows.
He has those two vertical wrinkles (creases?) at eyebrow level, on each side of his nose.
You can just tell that the boy is CONCERNED!
He is REALLY CONCENTRATING on whatever trumped up (no pun intended) outrage that he's currently outraged about.
Tucker and Coulter...making the bucks from their true believers.
REPUBLICAN UBER ALLES!
That's where we are now.
Is there ANY question, any question AT ALL, that the Republicans are party before country?
There is no doubt in my mind.
Another letter to Brad, my congressman. A regular feature?
I think I'll start sharing all of these.
MY congressman is Bradley Byrne.
(R) 1st District, Alabama
This is Brad.
Ain't he a good looking dude?
He loves tRump.
I write him letters.
Here's the latest.
Dear Brad,
Man!
It sure is looking bad for the home team, hunh?
Just when you thought it couldnt get any worse, it went nuke.
And Im not talking about the North Koreans, which is scary enough.
The president of the United States of America, the leader(?) of the Free World, hobnobbing, backslapping, and grinning with TWO Russian operatives?
Good thing he allowed no U.S. reporters or photographers in the room to record THAT!
Oh, wait.
He DID allow a photographer from TASS?
Tass is owned by the Government of Russia. Headquartered in Moscow, Russia,
Tass has 70 offices in Russia and in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), as well as 68 bureaus around the world.

Son, I think were in some deep doo doo now.
Way deep.
I think it might be a good time to begin to distance yourself from this train wreck.
At this point I think you could STILL give yourself some plausible deniability.
Barely.
Listen, its never to late to see the error of your ways, do a mea culpa, and try for redemption.
What have you got to lose?
Yur bud,
