Mr. Scorpio's JournalI see what kids in school today have to deal with, and I consider myself lucky...
Despite of the fact that I'm the product of an inner city school system. I don't believe that I would recognize what passes for a grade school education in the present environment. And this is in spite of the fact that all of my schooling happened in the 60's and 70's. From riots to the Disco Era in my time, it wasn't all that bad.
Instead, schooling today looks more like a war-zone to me.
I'm sure that most of you in your fifties and before feel the same way. We were all nurtured in a completely different environment. One that was all before the threat of gun daily violence, before the destruction of the public school system and the rise of for-profit education, before teaching and teachers were being treated like public enemies number one, before a massive opioid epidemic, before cyber-bullying, before the school-to-prison pipeline, before the prospect of going into massive debt just to get through college and inadequate job market wages and salaries. And without a host of other things that kids have to go through today.
Just like much of society in this country over the last forty years, kids are being set up to fail. So much of their childhoods has been taken away from them and asked of them in spite of the sacrifices. And it shows, through depression and suicide, over-medication and self-medication.
It's as if school children today are expected to be treated as if they're miniature adults. And once they become actual adults, they find out that society is ready to exploit them and dispose of them at the drop of a hat. Their so-called education has failed to prepare them for basic adult existence. Instead they find that some of them have been indoctrinated into a religious fundamentalist, white supremacist world, without civics, without the arts and sciences, without regards for the basic human rights for all. And we end up with some of these kids garishly attempting to emulate Nazis, or promoting anti-black agendas.
No wonder that so many have found empowerment through the barrel of a gun. Guns that are easier to obtain than the means of driving a car. Something that our politicians have seen fit to accomplish.
And the sheer amount of violence and neglect that kids are dealing with, both physical and emotional, both institutional and personal, it's mind-boggling. And you know what, why this has happened? It's because we are all living in a world created by regressive, right-wing Republican ideology. It's happening here and now. It's so obvious that something as tragic as seventeen people being slaughtered today in a school is only made real in the kind of world that Republicans have created of us all.
Republican dystopia is the here and the now.
We're killing the future of kids out there. We shouldn't be surprised that this becomes an endless, cynical cycle of self-destruction which creates more chaos. Can it be reversed? Not without stopping Republicans, of course.
We need a new paradigm. We need to destroy the Republican dystopia in order to save ourselves. We need to do that for ourselves and to save the kids. We owe it all to them to do that.
Otherwise, it's only going to get much, much worse.

Can afford to offer plenty more thoughts and prayers to the victims of another unnecessary gun tragedy, I’m sure.
It’s not like they have jobs where they could pass laws or something about this nonsense, right?
The only reason shit like this continues to happen is that we’ve collectively decided that the price of “freedom” is gun violence. Lots and lots of gun violence. Even that protection FROM gun violence requires the handy ability to inflict even more gun violence.
It’s nothing more than a nasty vicious circle.
As reasoned and influenced through the handy application of millions of gun manufacturer dollars and RWNJ propaganda, of course.

I’m not expecting anything to come out of this other than the same impotence and deflection that always happens when people are slaughtered by another gun nut.

Twenty years ago, when I picked up an assignment to an Intel Squadron after Europe...
I had to qualify for a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information upgrade to my security clearance. So I got all the instructions, carefully filled out my SF-86 completely and truthfully, signed and submitted it and after a few months, I received my clearance upgrade.
It wasn't that hard for me. It's not that hard at all for anyone who tells the truth and does it correctly.
So, when I see that so many of the people who require security clearances in the Trump White House haven't yet received them after about a year and a half from the time they were informed that they would need them, it only goes to show that there's definitely something real shady about these motherfuckers.
REALLY shady, REALLY Super shady.
Hell... I doubt that even Trump couldn't score a security clearance if he was already President.
This shit is not normal. Nothing about these assholes in the Executive Branch is normal at all. There's still more stuff to reveal about what these motherfuckers have been up to that has caused their clearances to be held up. There's nothing preventing that from happening, other than the prevention of full disclosure. Which means that both the press and the Congress needs to get to the bottom of this bullshit.
This is some really important shit. It also gets to the heart of what this administration has been up to. So when the last chapter of the book on these people has been finally penned, harken back to the fact that their clearances were not granted in a timely manner.
As a matter of fact, anyone who doesn't yet HAVE a clearance to do their gawd-damned jobs should be considered as another "scandal" waiting to happen. It's simple; no clearance means that they're shady and fuck. The White House leadership is well aware of their shadiness, and instead of letting them go, they're trying to slide these shady as fuck motherfuckers under the door.
That should not be allowed.

"Judith and Holofernes" is the title of the painting, so there's no mistake as to what the subject matter is about. It's in the GAWD DAMNED BIBLE! You'd think that a gaggle of right wing nut jobs would figure out that the painting came out of a biblical scenario, right? Wrong. These people are just too stupid and racist to figure any of that that out.

But why are they upset that about Kehinde Wiley' beautiful depiction of a biblical passage? Because she's black? Because the same artist also painted Obama's portrait? Because they're fucking unsophisticated morons, triggered by melanin, who couldn't buy a clue about art history?

Notice a common theme here? It's all the same scenario, but each one done in a way that's relative to the artists' own frames of reference. That's how art usually works. But don't tell that to the people who are so pissed off at Kehinde Wiley's paintings.
To those Obama hating racist motherfuckers, it's only a problem when black people are doing it. That was the entire response to his presidency by these same people. So, it's not like it wasn't expected, right?
So, whenever you come across any of these racist dip shits who are so "upset" that the artist who painted Obama's striking and beautiful portrait has also painted a picture of "a black woman who cut the head off of a white man." Simply reply, "You're damn straight!" And point out just how fucking racist and stupid they are and tell those morons to learn some fucking art history before they open up their putrid pie holes.

Has anyone else noticed that RWNJ trolls are giving up on their trolling when confronted?
Last year, they'd stick around with their asinine arguments getting more and more ridiculous.
But when they'd show up in comment sections these days, you could just ask them some simple questions, pointing out the flaws in their arguments, and they just disappear. Like the fight is all out of them.
Either that, or they're just nothing more than hit-and-run Russian trolls.
Either way, I love it when they just go away.
