white New York police officer is under investigation after he allegedly broke into a Nashville home where he used a racial slur against a sleeping family.

Officer Michael Reynolds, of Manhattan North, was reportedly caught on surveillance footage walking down the street around 2.30am on July 9 in a Nashville neighborhood.

Conese Halliburton said the officer, who was an Airbnb guest at a house nearby, broke down her front door.

'You heard the big boom and that was my door getting kicked in. My sons were trying to stop him and he's like, 'this is my m*****f**king house, this is my house!' He kept repeating it,' Halliburton told News 2.

Halliburton, who has lived at her home for 30 years, said the man refused to leave. That's when her oldest son threatened him.

'My oldest son said, "I will kill you if you don't get out of my house,"' Halliburton told the station.

See, this here is YET another example of why Trump's a shady motherfucker...

Who should have never been elected:

White House Takes Aim At Financial Protections For Military

August 13, 20185:00 AM ET

CHRIS ARNOLD
The Trump administration is taking aim at a law designed to protect military service members from getting cheated by shady lending practices.

NPR has obtained documents that show the White House is proposing changes that critics say would leave service members vulnerable to getting ripped off when they buy cars. Separately, the administration is taking broader steps to roll back enforcement of the Military Lending Act.

The MLA is supposed to protect service members from predatory loans and financial products. But the White House appears willing to change the rules in a way that critics say would take away some of those protections.

"If the White House does this, it will be manipulating the Military Lending Act regulations at the behest of auto dealers and banks to try and make it easier to sell overpriced rip-off products to military service members," says Christopher Peterson, a law professor at the University of Utah, who reviewed the documents.

I've got to hand it white people today...

The ones who stood up to the white nationalists in DC today, outnumbering them exponentially and showing them that white pride will not stand.

If we're going force back the tide of white supremacy that has been emboldened by Trump, this is how it needs to be done. Not just here, but whenever toxic white entitlement rears its ugly head.

Whenever some triggered white person threatens to call the police on a person of color for merely existing within their eye sight, righteous white people need to nip that shit in the bud.

Whenever the police are exposed for being violent and discriminatory to people of color, always remember that they can even abuse white people are well. Show some sympathy.

Be that white ally, because white supremacy harms us all. When one is harmed, we all are.

Fight the good fight. Stand up for an America where the only important colors are those on the American Flag.

Good work, y'all.

Psychologists surveyed hundreds of alt-right supporters. The results are unsettling.

By Brian Resnick@B_resnickbrian@vox.com Updated Aug 10, 2018, 11:42am EDT

The white supremacists marching at the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, last year were not ashamed when they shouted, “Jews will not replace us.” They were not ashamed to wear Nazi symbols, to carry torches, to harass and beat counterprotesters. They wanted their beliefs on display.

It’s easy to treat people like them as straw men: one-dimensional, backward beings fueled by hatred and ignorance. But if we want to prevent the spread of extremist, supremacist views, we need to understand how these views form and why they stick in the minds of some people.

It’s important because they’re not going away. This weekend in Washington, DC, a second Unite the Right rally will convene. No one is really sure how many white nationalists will attend, or if the counterprotesters will greatly outnumber them. But they plan to meet in front of the White House to once again put their beliefs on proud display.

Last year, psychologists Patrick Forscher and Nour Kteily recruited members of the alt-right (a.k.a. the “alternative right,” the catchall political identity of white nationalists) to participate in a study to build the first psychological profile of their movement. The results, which were released in August 2017, are just in working paper form and have yet to be peer-reviewed or published in an academic journal.

That said, the study uses well-established psychological measures and is clear about its limitations. All the researchers’ raw data and materials have been posted online for others to review. Meanwhile, Forscher and Kteily are working on an extended, more rigorous version of the survey, which will pull from a nationally representative sample of Trump voters. (Read more about their plans here.)

So while last year’s survey is a preliminary assessment, it validates some common perceptions of the alt-right with data. It helps us understand this group not just as straw men but as people with knowable motivations.
