Cha
Cha's JournalThat is beautiful, Effie.. Thank you
so much for giving such a detailed essay on why the POC community found Sanders' comments on President Obama so offensive.
I know I did when I read it.. I appreciated President Obama all the years we had him. Wow, I even had a dream about him last night.. lol he was back in school, wanted to be a Doctor.. not sure what of. I saw Michelle riding about on a bicycle, too.
I just saw this..

Sellers argued that Obamas legacy encompasses not just his work as president from a policy perspective, but his symbolic importance. He alluded to the photo of a boy touching Obamas hair in the White House to see if it felt like his. Bernie Sanders doesnt understand how that photo is emblematic of the hope of many African Americans and that it speaks loudly to who Barack Obama is.

And, it's you who I care about, Exotica...
I took it the same way..
From Joshua DuBois..

"Bernie's comments were tone-deaf and will not help him with communities of color, especially black folks," said Joshua DuBois, a strategist who led Obama's faith-based initiative. "On that hallowed day, our focus should've been on the transformative legacy of Dr. King and how we can come together to continue King's fight against systemic racism and injustice not attacking the legacy of the first black president, who fought against many of the same things Dr. King fought."

Agree, brush.. and BS attacked the Democratic Party on the day
after we WON big in Wisconsin.. and we have been winning.. why didn't he mention that?
And, he went after President Obama on the Anniversary of the assassination of MLK.

BS chose the day after we won big in Wisconsin to attack the Democratic Party.. and the day of the Anniversary of the assassination of MLK to go after President Obama.
Oh yes! President Obama's legacy and excellent works will go on and on no matter who tries to drag
him down..
There's more.. So very patronizing and going negative instead of talking about Accomplishments.
https://twitter.com/rubycramer/status/981707158306869248On the Anniversary of MLK's assassination.. he thought that was the best day to go after President Obama.
This is what President Obama was doing..
