Whoo! That's how it's done. If I still smoked, I fire one up right now. Damn.

Arredondo was aware that radios might not work.

Uvalde police chief says he ditched his radio during school shooting response – experts are stunned

Thinking he was the first officer to arrive and wanting to waste no time, Arredondo believed that carrying the radios would slow him down. One had a whiplike antenna that would hit him as he ran. The other had a clip that Arredondo knew would cause it to fall off his tactical belt during a long run.

Arredondo said he knew from experience that the radios did not work in some school buildings.

From Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn Grody

Mandy Patinkin
@PatinkinMandy

Abortion was liberating for me and allowed me to become a parent when, how, and with whom I wanted. Everyone should have that fundamental right to self-determination, regardless of zip code, income, race, or gender. Links in thread to share resources and donate. #bansoffourbodies

Mandy Patinkin's wife, Kathryn Grody, shares her own experience with abortion and her thoughts on the Supreme Court's overturn of Roe v. Wade.

eta: a search on YouTube did not come up with an alternate source for the video, alas. Likely there's been no time to add it there yet.

I remember Romper Room.

I don't remember hearing about this, but I was too young then to understand even if I had. Chessen, of course, lost her job. She lost the job after that for *drumroll* getting pregnant.

"I remember waking up after the operation and saying to the Swedish doctor, 'Was the baby a boy or girl?' And he said, 'It was not a baby. It was an abnormal growth that never would be a normal child.'"
(snip)

"The Supreme Court may be surprised to know there is light in what they've done: they have empowered women everywhere. I feel it. My granddaughters feel it. Added to all of that is a great dose of anger, and we as women, I will say it again and again, we shall prevail."

Thank you for your unwavering courage and voice, Sherri Chessen.

So, in the case of a pregnancy caused by a rape,

the rape victim who receives the death penalty for getting an abortion will receive a much heavier punishment than anyone has ever tried to levy against a rapist in the US justice system. Ever.

Frankly, forcing a raped woman to carry a child to term, to be responsible for raising that child for at least 18 years, and then be forever biologically tied to her rapist through that child is also a much heavier punishment. Pity the poor child as well.

It really is all about punishing women, essentially for being women. Abortion "abolitionists" like Durbin are a menace.

There are issues with the way this is written.

One Black man was seen tangling with the groups as tempers flared, the Herald observed. No arrests or citations were disclosed by the Boston Police Department or the Massachusetts State Police by 5:45 p.m. Saturday.

Did he, though? Did he 'tangle' with them or was it the other way around?

No arrests? There was 'tangling' going on, but no arrests or citations at all?

Funny how women protesting about Roe can be thrown to the ground by police and/or arrested just for showing up with a sign, but a man can hit a woman with a truck, running over her foot, and this motley crowd of racists can 'tangle' their way through downtown Boston with not one arrest. Not a single citation.

Interesting.

I decided to look for the answer to my question.

Turns out both the state of Florida and Leon County have policies regarding bullying, and the new LGBTQ policy is in direct violation.

https://www.fldoe.org/safe-schools/bullying-prevention.stml

Bullying in schools is of increasing focus for Florida schools, districts, and for the Florida Department of Education. Florida Statute 1006.147, also known as The Jeffrey Johnston Stand Up for All Students Act, requires school districts to adopt an official policy prohibiting bullying and harassment of students and staff on school grounds, at school-sponsored events, and through school computer networks.

Bullying/Harassment Definition:
Systematically and chronically inflicting physical hurt or psychological distress on one or more students or employees that is severe or pervasive enough to create an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment; or unreasonably interfere with the individual’s school performance or participation.

Hypocrisy. Rules for thee but not for me. How Christian.

Does the Leon County school district have a bullying policy?

If so, why should students take it seriously?

Sadly true.

Jimmy was right about energy conservation and alternative energy sources, but Reagan made sure to squash any of that as soon as he took office. I'm still angry that he removed the solar panels from the White House.

Obama installed new panels:

The original panels were rescued from storage:
