Dang. Internet's fast.
She was amazing. I hung on to every word she had to say, but then
I also wanted to hear Biden's response. The speaker, whose name is Porsche Bennett, begins at about 42:50. There is no reply right away, but another speaker after. Joe's comments start at 51:52; he addresses Porsche personally at about 56:39 and his remarks include a promise to form a National Commission on Policing. He rips trump for his incitement of white supremacy and lack of morality. He also talks about John Lewis and how we all have to vote. He says that we have to deal with the original sin of the country, slavery. There's more, and Joe is eloquent and heartfelt.

💥Information on Voting and Homelessness💥
https://www.nonprofitvote.org/voting-in-your-state/special-circumstances/voting-and-homelessness/I also have a link to this in my sig, shortened by bitly to fit. Same for following info pdf.
You Don't Need a Home to Vote - includes a table of State Voter Regulations starting on page 17.

https://www.governing.com/now/The-Homeless-Have-Voting-Rights-but-Face-Many-Hurdles.html
In some states, voters are not required to provide a permanent address or any address. They can simply list a landmark, such as an intersection. If they spend every night sleeping under the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge in Bangor, they can register to vote in that precinct, says Maine Secretary of State Matt Dunlap. We cannot turn down voter registration from those people because they dont have a fixed address.
Twenty-one states and the District of Columbia allow same-day registration, meaning people can register as late as Election Day, but Ohio voters must register 30 days ahead of an election. If they move during that last month, or start sleeping on someone elses couch, their registration is no longer valid.
If you move within that 30-day window prior to the actual election, you get into a more gray area, says Bill Faith, executive director of the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio. Technically, you should vote at the address where you registered. If youre in limbo, the only thing you can do legally is cast a provisional ballot.
https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2020/08/an-eviction-wave-could-wreak-havoc-on-voting-by-mail/
For those who cant get a mail-in ballot and do choose to vote in person, a recent change in address should not prevent them from voting at the polls. In the District of Columbia and the 21 states that have same-day voter registration, a resident can register a new address at the polling place, even if its just a temporary place to stay, such as a friends house. People who have become homeless need not even list a permitted addressthey can list a cross street. The federal voter registration form, which voters can use to register in all but three US states, includes a blank map with a pair of unlabeled intersecting streets where voters can write in the street names of the crossroads nearest to where they are staying. In the states where same-day voter registration is not an option, residents can vote using their old address, provided it has been less than 30 days since they left.
The US Election Assistance Commission [https://www.eac.gov/] provides the National Voter Registration Application Form for U.S. Citizens (in 15 languages) with instructions, registration deadlines, and mailing address for each state:

During the House hearings, a Dem asked Duncan about DeJoy's hiring.
Sorry I can't recall who asked the question, but the gist was that the USPS spent a chunk of change getting an outside agency to help them find the right candidate. The potentials were whittled down from over 200 to a group of 14 and then DeJoy's name was put in the pot. Questioner got Duncan to admit that he was the one responsible.
From reading the article, it seems the DeJoys have a history of throwing money around to get what they want, and stepping on the heads of as many people as possible once they've gotten it.
Also, Steve Mnuchin's role in this hasn't gotten nearly the amount of attention it deserves.
The Treasury was using that responsibility to make demands that I believed would turn the Postal Service into a political tool, ending its long history as an apolitical public infrastructure,? Williams told the Congressional Progressive Caucus at a forum last week.
Nancy Pelosi went to a salon and got her hair done. Oh, the humanity!
The rules about being able to go to salons changed on the day she had her appointment. Neither the stylist nor Pelosi did anything wrong, but the salon owner made sure Pelosi was blasted for it anyway by putting out a video.
The plot thickens: Salon owner lied. It's a big con job.

Pelosis stylist has retained an attorney and says the salon owner (who has been bashing the speaker) authorized her appointment - and also says they have evidence the salon owner has been operating during the stay-at-home orders as far back as April.
Superheroes visit kids at Levine Children's Hospital

It was an altogether average day outside Levine Children Hospital, when suddenly a group of superheroes appeared from above, begging the question: Did Spidey and the gang get day jobs?
Not quite. Instead, these heroes are window washers from Joffe Contracting and this is no ordinary high rise.
What a wonderful idea! It's especially sweet this year for all of the kids who can't have visitors.

Nazi tactics [the big lie] and a few pages ripped from the abuser's playbook:
gaslighting, and DARVO writ large.
https://medium.com/the-ascent/one-way-to-disarm-gaslighters-understand-darvo-8e0aeb184f7
From the Wikipedia page:
DARVO is an acronym used to describe a common strategy of abusers: deny the abuse, then attack the victim for attempting to make them accountable for their offense, thereby reversing victim and offender.[snip]
Gaslighters, those who respond with DARVO when confronted about bad behavior, feed on your self-doubt. Even people who start out quite sure of themselves, if mistreated enough, become mentally and emotionally malleable. The more youve been attacked, whether physically, sexually, or emotionally, the easier it is for other people to destabilize you going forward.
Apologies for dragging this over from another thread, but it just can't be repeated enough: trump, with media help, is gaslighting the hell out of the country.
Agreed. Andrea Mitchell is not admitting that trump's latest word gargle
is the usual distraction from COVID, the economy, police brutality, donnie's taxes, and all of the other things going on in reality world. That's disappointing. I thought she had more sense.
