Congratulations, Kemp. You played yourself.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp might not be able to vote because he’s in quarantine after close contact with U.S. Rep. Drew Ferguson, who tested positive for the coronavirus Friday.

But an absentee ballot requested Friday is unlikely to arrive in the mail before polls close Tuesday. Georgia law and a court ruling required all absentee ballots to be received by county election officials before 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.

Repubs weren't expecting Citizen's United to get turned on its head this way.

Too bad, so sad. The way people have been voting with their pocketbooks during this election cycle has been amazing.

This isn't "testing the limits" of immigration and child welfare laws.

It's ignoring them, along with any sense of decency. I hope someone is keeping good records of those who ordered and those performed these acts. When the time comes, "I was just following orders" will not be an acceptable defense.

Barbara Jordan - Demand Change

While watching one amazing ad from TLP, I ran across another from Meidas Touch in the responses.

The battle lines have been established. It's decency versus cruelty. It is justice for all versus justice for the privileged. It is the battle for the soul of our nation. And our democracy will win again. [Google translation of original tweet]

I missed this one when it first came out. In case you missed it too, here's the ad on YouTube. It incorporates part of a stirring Democratic National Convention Keynote speech given in 1976 by one of the most amazing women who ever served this country: Barbara Jordan. Enjoy!

Wilbur Ross is a real piece of work. No wonder donnie appointed him.

There are bigger allegations. Over several months, in speaking with 21 people who know Ross, Forbes uncovered a pattern: Many of those who worked directly with him claim that Ross wrongly siphoned or outright stole a few million here and a few million there, huge amounts for most but not necessarily for the commerce secretary. At least if you consider them individually. But all told, these allegations—which sparked lawsuits, reimbursements and an SEC fine—come to more than $120 million. If even half of the accusations are legitimate, the current United States secretary of commerce could rank among the biggest grifters in American history.

People have known for years. Why is he still in heading Commerce, much less still walking around free?

I just voted today in GA!

Finally, and it felt so good to get it done.

Signs on entering the building required masks, no electioneering or campaigning, no political clothing/hats allowed. There was a steady stream of people coming and going by ones and twos, but no waiting. Communal cup of pens (*bzzt*) for signing paperwork but plenty of hand sanitizer available. I wore gloves.

For all the care taken to move from the usual room to another larger room, the extra space was not effectively used. Half a dozen machines were available, but they were not spaced six feet apart or staggered into separate rows. The check-in table and machines were all crammed to the side of the room, leaving most of the normal furniture (large tables at the front for city council, rows of chairs for attendees) unmoved. People, what was the point? 🤦‍♀️

Voting was easy, my ballot registered everything as I wanted and printed fine, and it went into the box and showed I was voter number 6,654. Whee! More hand sanitizer and a sticker were offered on the way out. My gloves and I declined the sanitizer but kept the sticker. I came home and put on my new favorite t-shirt, woohoo!

There may some deaths before the night is over.

I know the first thought is, "they brought it on themselves," but there are elderly who may not make it out of this alive.

I do have some sympathy for them, idiots they may be. I don't know why, but I see the deplorables as a continuum, from the militia jerks who could fall off a cliff tomorrow and I wouldn't even bother to wave goodbye, to some of the older ones who may still be deluded that they are dealing with a garden variety Repub. I think they're horrendously out of touch at best, but that's no reason to die like this. Silly me, but there you go.

eta - and there's no excuse for this happening. trump and his campaign staff are completely on the hook for it.

Facebook policy is a farce. They wait to get 'caught' before fixing things.

While the Trump campaign has seen its ads approved, Priorities USA, a Democratic Super PAC, has had a different experience. The group reported that 586 of its ads, designed to encourage voter turnout, were rejected. The problem, allegedly, was that the ads were not active prior to October 27. But Josh Scherwin, Priorities USA's Communications Director, said that was not true and that all the ads had impressions delivered prior to the deadline. Other liberal groups are facing similar issues.

Adweek reported the problem was widespread.

The whole article is worth a read, if you can stand it.

The FBI should have a little chat with donnie about what he can and cannot say

regarding a political opponent. "Oh, that wasn't what I really meant" is not a defense. toddler in chief needs to chill.

Yet another mountain of grift trump needs to be investigated for if the Emoluments Clause

is to mean anything ever again. Time for an independent investigation and Special Counsel. It doesn't matter if no one has managed to nail trump for his crimes before now. The time for that has come as well.
