Last night, Donald Trump livetweeted President Obama’s speech from the Oval Office. One part of the tweetstorm stuck out: Trump’s reaction to the President saying, “Muslim-Americans are our friends and our neighbors, our co- workers, our sports heroes.”

Obama said in his speech that Muslims are our sports heroes. What sport is he talking about, and who? Is Obama profiling?

1) Muhammad Ali, boxer

2) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, basketball

3-4) Hakeem Olajuwon and Shaquille O’Neal, basketball

Sanders takes no questions from media at 'press conference'

Sanders takes no questions from media at 'press conference'
By Nolan D. McCaskill

The Vermont senator spoke for roughly 10 minutes during what was billed by the campaign a health care press conference and featured remarks from industry professionals such as Deborah Burger from National Nurses United.
Story Continued Below

“I’m gonna say a few words in a moment but I wanted to introduce some people who on a daily basis are working amidst the health care crisis in this country and I want them to reflect on what they see and where they want this country and this state to go,” Sanders said from Emeryville, California, ahead of the state’s June 7 primary.

He then introduced three people, one by one, before delivering his brief remarks, which were largely a portion of his stump speech.

Hillary Clinton for President

From the NRDCA Action fund webpage http://www.nrdcactionfund.org/

Posted by: Rhea Suh - May 31, 2016

In 160 days, voters will face a choice between two major party nominees in the 2016 U.S. presidential contest: Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Only one of those candidates wants to build a future powered by a clean energy economy. Only one of those candidates will make America a leader in the global fight against climate change. And only one of those candidates will work to ensure that every child and every family in America has clean water to drink, clean air to breathe, and a safe and healthy place to live.

That candidate is Hillary Clinton, and that’s why – for the first time – the NRDC Action Fund is stepping up now to endorse Secretary Clinton for President of the United States.
Hillary Clinton understands the environmental challenges America faces, and her approach to solving them is grounded in the possibility and promise our democracy affords us.

She knows that polluted air and unsafe drinking water are far greater burdens on poor communities and communities of color in America, and like us, she believes these communities deserve justice. The NRDC Action Fund will stand with her as she works to prevent crises like the one in Flint, MI, that has left the people of that community without safe drinking water for more than two years.

Major environmental group makes first ever endorsement of Hillary Clinton

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/05/31/major-environmental-group-makes-first-ever-endorsement-of-hillary-clinton/

By Abby Phillip May 31 at 6:30 AM

A major environmental group, the NRDC Action Fund, will endorse Hillary Clinton on Tuesday in its first-ever political endorsement in a presidential election.

In a statement, the NRDC Action Fund, a political affiliate of the Natural Resources Defense Council, said that the unprecedented endorsement is reflective of the need for left-leaning groups to unite against Donald Trump, the likely Republican nominee.

“Hillary Clinton is an environmental champion with the passion, experience and savvy to build on President Obama’s environmental legacy,” Rhea Suh, president of the NRDC Action Fund, said in a statement. “More than any other candidate running, Hillary Clinton understands the environmental challenges America faces, and her approach to solving them is grounded in the possibility and promise our democracy affords us.”...

The endorsement is a blow to Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who hopes to upset Clinton next week in the Democratic primary in California, a state where environmental issues loom large.

The NRCD Action Fund's move to endorse Clinton comes at a critical time for her as she seeks to dispatch with Sanders and pivot to a general election fight against Donald Trump. Clinton may also be facing a tougher-than-expected challenge from Sanders in California. Her campaign announced on Monday that she would spend more time than originally planned campaigning in the state this week.

Rise, Hillary, Rise – A Poem By Maya Angelou (1928-2014)

Rise, Hillary, Rise – A Poem By Maya Angelou (April 4, 1928 - May 28, 2014)

You may write me down in history

With your bitter, twisted lies,

You may tread me in the very dirt

But still, like dust, I'll rise.

This is not the first time you have seen Hillary Clinton seemingly at her wits' end, but she has always risen, always risen, don't forget she has always risen, much to the dismay of her adversaries and the delight of her friends.

Hillary Clinton will not give up on you and all she asks of you is that you do not give up on her.

There is a world of difference between being a woman and being an old female. If you're born a girl, grow up, and live long enough, you can become an old female. But to become a woman is a serious matter. A woman takes responsibility for the time she takes up and the space she occupies. Hillary Clinton is a woman. She has been there and done that and has still risen. She is in this race for the long haul. She intends to make a difference in our country. Hillary Clinton intends to help our country to be what it can become.

She declares she wants to see more smiles in the family, more courtesies between men and women, more honesty in the marketplace. She is the prayer of every woman and man who longs for fair play, healthy families, good schools, and a balanced economy.

She means to rise.

Don't give up on Hillary. In fact, if you help her to rise, you will rise with her and help her make this country the wonderful, wonderful place where every man and every woman can live freely without sanctimonious piety and without crippling fear.

Rise, Hillary.

Rise.

Hillary Clinton marches in hometown Memorial Day parade

NEW CASTLE, N.Y. — Hillary Clinton marched in the New Castle Memorial Day parade on Monday morning, an event that has become an annual tradition in the town that she and former president Bill Clinton now call their home.

The hamlet of Chappaqua welcomed Clinton, the former president and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo with signs and cheers as they walked briskly through town on a muggy and gray day.

“Love it!” Clinton told a woman who asked whether she was enjoying being a part of the quaint festivities. “It's my favorite parade."

The bagpipes played and the band marched. Children in soccer jerseys waited on the sidewalks waving American flags. Teens scrambled to snap selfies as the former first family walked by.
