I just watched "Koch Brothers Exposed" on Netflix.

I also posted this in GD.

It shows just how malignant an influence these bastards are in our country.

I won't comment further except to say that you should watch it and draw your own conclusions.

I would say that they are a pair of walking turds, but I have too much respect for turds!

PEACE!

An apology to America from Winthrop, Maine.

Of course, if I were a part of willard's campaign, I may have said that this was an apology to "Amercia", but if I were with willard's campaign, I'd never have had a brain that thinks this way.

I, who lives in a state that voted for President OBama, re-elected 2 house members, elected a new Independent/little "d" democrtaic senator, voted for Marriage Equality, gave both houses of the State Legislature to the Democrats to reign in our teabaggergovernor, elected a potential future Democratic woman governor as the DA of my home district and had a pretty danged good election for our side, would like to apologise to America for the horse's ass of a republican/teabager party chairman charlie webster.

webster, in his little pea-brained "wisdom", looked at this 97%+ white state and decided to raise an issue about African Americans voting and defended himself against charges of being the racist dipshit that he is by saying, essentially. that some of his best friends are black. Uh, charlie, that's what bigots said 50 years ago to show that they supposedly weren't bigots.

Remember, as charlie webster oozes off into the sunset (which in his mind is probably in the East) is the guy who did such an obviously clumsy job of stealing his party's February caucus for willard over alternative loon ron paul. He then had a state party convention that was such a disaster that it made the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago look like a love-fest. I would say that the man is a walking turd, but I don't want to insult turds.

Thank God that we in Maine will be rid of his moronic influence very soon. Unfortunately, knowing the republican/teabagger party, I dread what they'll put in his place.

That's my 2 cents, and quite possibly overpriced at that!

PEACE!

A story to share with all DU parents.

I also posted this in the parenting forum.

If you haven't been throgh this yet, don't worry, you will; you WILL.

My son is an great kid. He's 12 & 1/2 and looks like a young Denzel Washington. Last Saturday he went on his first date. He and a girl his age who've been both friends and foes since 2nd grade went to see "Taken 2" and then to Barnes & Noble for cheesecake. I'd seen the young woman at school and the library a number of times, but I only just actually met her when we picked her up to go so I could take them to the movie. She's a very pretty and very intelligent young woman and I was very impressed with her.

I stood in line with them just in case I had to tell the ticket seller that the girl's parents, as well as my wife and I approved of them seeing a PG13 movie. After that I didn't see them until my wife and I met them at B&N.

As with any parent, I'm proud of the new advances my son makes and I'm also heartbroken by what's being left behind. I'm proud of how my son followed every single rule we teach him about respect for women and how to act on a date and about just being himself. We also miss the baby, toddler and little kid as we a the young man developing in their place.

Don't get me wrong. At 12, there are still more times than not that I just want to knock him through the floor, especially when he just drops things at his ass when he could have just as easily put them where they belong 8 inches away. Still in all, my wife and I are proud of him and very happy that his first date was a success. I know that they want to do it again soon.

I just thought i'd share this with my fellow parents in the DU community. As I said at the beginning, if you haven't gone through this yet, you will!

That's my 2 cents and quite possibly overpriced at that.

PEACE!

Hello from Winthrop Maine,...

...where we became one of the first states to VOTE in favor of marriage equality!

I'm a straight white 57 year old man. My wife and I were proud and happy to stand with our LGBT friends and allies as Maine voted 53% in favor of equal rights for all.

I mention my age because I lived through the civil rights movement and the "Women's Lib" movement. I've never seen something become so accepted so fast as LGBT rights and marriage.

To illustrate my point, do you remember that as recently as March of 2005 the republicans, fundies and those whove become the teabaggers were having a serious shit fit over the notion of a lesbian saying hello to a cartoon bunny?

If ANYONE tried that today they'd probably be laughed out of the room and rightfully so.

So, republicans, homophobes and teabaggers, please accept my sincere desire that you go SUCK IT!!!!!

BTW, Congrats, Senator-elect Baldwin!

That's my 2 cents, and quite possibly overpriced at that!

PEACE!

Has Florida been called yet?

If the Prez gets Florida, will the media start calling it a blue state> After all, it will have voted for Clinton in 96, Gore in 00, kerry in 04 (even though it was stolen those times) and the Prez twice.

PEACE!

I just posted this on Facebook.

Just to give you an idea of how often I use Facebook, I found out about my high school class's October 2009 reunion in August of 2010.

Here's my fresh FB post, though:

President Obama re-elected comfortably.
Maine and 3 other states approve same sex marriage
Elizabeth Warren wins
Tammy Baldwin wins
pro-rape republicans lose
karl rove and donald trump make asses out of themselves (again).

Message to teabaggers everywhere: SUCK IT!

Just my post-election 2 cents and quite possibly overpriced at that!

PEACE!

My family and I thank you Mr. President.

Not counting all of your accomplishments in your first term and what you'll do in your second term, I have a very personal reason for thanking you.

I am so grateful to you for being a man that I can point out to my son and say "here is a leader and someone that you can emulate with pride". Thank you for being a wonderful role model for my precious 12 year old son.

When I was a boy and I misbehaved, my mother would ask "What would President Kennedy say"?

I can finally look to a President and say something similar to my precious young man.

My family and I will mwke an exchange with you for the next four years. If you'll accept our gratitude, we'll have your back.

Forward!

PEACE!

Gee, willard is choosing to end this campaign by acting like a dick.

I'm shocked. Shocked I tell you, SHOCKED!

A spoiled brat pathological liar of a greedy plutocrat is choosing to go out acting just like the walking turd that he is. WOW, what a stunner!

PEACE!
