A Day at Disney California Adventure

Sometimes, you just need to let go and let the inner child out of your tired, old body. Well, that’s what we did when we visited Disney California Adventure Park!

Desert Views Road Trip Part Four: Ruddy's 1930's General Store Museum

Located in the heart of Downtown Palm Springs is one of the most unique museums that we have ever encountered. Neek, Sar and I felt like we literally stepped back in time and marveled at how pristine the items and relics were preserved!

That's From Disneyland! - Disneyland Memorabilia Pop-Up Exhibit and Auction

So much has changed at the park throughout the years and Neek, Sar and I have missed seeing some of the attractions from our childhood so when we heard that a Disneyland Memorabilia Pop-Up Exhibit was being held right nearby our home, we just had to visit. The exhibit will be open from August 1 to August 26, 2018 and the auction will take place on August 24 to 26.

Romance and Sex Life of the Date? - Desert Views Road Trip Part 3

Our next stop on our little desert road trip took us to Indio. One place that Neek, Sar and I were really curious to visit was Shields Date Garden. I had never been to this place before even though I love dates. But I had seen the place before on a Huell Howser TV show on public television, so I was very excited to experience the place!

Ruddy's 1930's General Store Museum - Desert Views Road Trip Part 4

One of the most unique attractions in Palm Springs is about the closest thing to stepping into a time machine that we have ever experienced. Located on Palm Canyon Drive in the heart of Palm Springs is Ruddy's 1930s General Store Museum. Just to step in through the front door is to immediately step back 80 years in time!

Desert Road Trip Part 2 - Salvation Mountain

The next stop on our journey through the desert was Salvation Mountain located near the remote town of Niland, California. I’m not a huge fan of religious art, but as far as folk art goes, this was pretty impressive, and I appreciate that the primary focus seemed to be “God is Love” rather than fire and brimstone. It is definitely worth checking out!

Our next stop on our little desert road trip took us to Indio. One place that Neek, Sar and I were really curious to visit was Shields Date Garden. I had never been to this place before even though I love dates; as a child my parents took me to another place that sells dates in Cabazon, Hadley Fruit Orchards (more on that in a later episode). But I had seen the place before on a Huell Howser TV show on public television, so I was very excited to experience the place!

We got our 'I Survived Nevada Highway 50' Certificates!

I've posted before in this group about our road trip through Highway 50 and all the places we had to get our passport stamped to prove we survived "The Loneliest Road in America." Well, we mailed it in and a couple months later, we got our certificates in the mail!
