5 Confessions of a Female 'Nice Guy'

I don't know if you have heard the term "Nice Guy." Ironically, it does not actually refer to any nice guy. It refers to a sort of Internet phenomenon of a guy who complains about how girls won't date him and prefer jerks, and therefore all women are bad and shallow and are too dumb to know who's good for them. Such guys existed before the internet, but their inescapable public complaining is the part made possible by the miracle of technology.

A lot has been said about the Nice Guy and what is wrong with him, so I don't feel the need to repeat it. What I do want to talk about is his mirror image, the Nice Girl -- the female who goes a little nuts after failing to get guys. I know a lot about this type, because I was this type for a long, long time. It's pretty sad, but I always say: if you can't mock the embarrassing parts of your past, what's the point of having lived them?

Now, Nice Guys and Nice Girls aren't exact parallels, as men and women have different roles and expectations in society or whatever, but there are some similarities. Let's play high school English class and compare and contrast.

This is my favorite part:

"I'll stop being pissed at the opposite sex when one of them agrees to go out with me," is basically you holding your own happiness hostage. You're probably hurting yourself more than anybody else

Haters are gonna hate. It's what they do. "You are all idiots, but why don't you like me!"

Montgomery Co. Local Election Endorsements?

Does anyone have strong opinions on any of the local races like Board of Ed, Judges, ballot questions, etc.?

I'll take endorsements from my fellow DUers. And yes, my vote can be bought!

I'll mostly vote Dem on the partisan elections of course, but I don't know much about the local stuff, I don't have kids, etc.. I'll probably hold my nose for some of these Dems like Ike Leggett, as I walk past the badly bungled transit center twice every day.

U.S.-led airstrikes on ISIS in Syria: Who's in, who's not

Source: CNN

(CNN) -- The campaign of airstrikes against ISIS in Syria has pitted several Arab countries into action alongside the United States.

Analysts say the involvement of leading Sunni Muslim nations in a fight against the Sunni extremism of ISIS is crucial.

"I think that's very important going forward as it does show that we've got some regional buy-in, it shows that there are Arab countries willing to put their reputations on the line," said retired Lt. Col. Rick Francona, an Air Force veteran intelligence officer and CNN military analyst.

But there are also some U.S. allies and regional powers that are conspicuous by their absence from the new phase of the conflict with ISIS.

Here's the lowdown on who's taking part and why -- and who's staying on the sidelines.

Good that some Middle Eastern nations are involved in the air strikes. What's the deal with Turkey? Maybe we should support an independent Kurdistan and tell Turkey to go F off.

Slender Man inspires teen to torch home with mom and brother inside

http://www.modvive.com/2014/09/06/slender-man-inspires-teen-torch-home-mom-brother-inside/

Sender Man has inspired another act of teenage violence as this time police say the fictional character led a 14-year-old girl to set fire to her Florida family home with her mother and sibling inside.

The suspected arsonist was arrested early Thursday after allegedly soaking a towel and a bed sheet with bleach and rum then lighting it on fire in the garage of the Port Richey, Florida home. Inside the home sleeping were her mother and her 9-year-old brother.

Fortunately the home featured working smoke detectors and the teens mother and brother were able to escape the home before it was completely engulfed in flames around 1:45 a.m.

After setting the fire the teen went to a nearby park and fell asleep in the restroom, where police eventually found her and made the arrest.

Florida girl, of course. Is Florida girl related to Florida man maybe?

U.S. Service firms post fastest growth in 9 years: ISM

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/us-firms-post-fastest-growth-in-years-ism-2014-08-05?dist=afterbell

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — U.S. service companies in areas such as retail, health care and entertainment expanded in July at the fastest pace in nine years, offering more evidence that the economy is shifting into a stronger phase of growth.

The services side of the U.S. economy, including government, employs about 85% of all American workers. Retail, health care and the restaurant business have been among the fastest growing over the past few years.

At the same time, though, U.S. manufacturers are also experiencing a resurgence and the construction industry is also growing at a steady clip as well. The ISM’s manufacturing index rose in July at the sharpest clip since April 2011, the nonprofit agency reported last week.

With nearly every sector of the U.S. economy showing improved sales, companies are hiring at a faster rate than any time since before the recession began. The U.S. had generated 200,000 jobs or more for seven straight months, the best stretch of hiring since 1997.

“Business has been strong this summer after a late start due to the poor spring weather,” said an executives at a wholesale-trade company. And an executive at an information-oriented firm said the “second half of the year is looking promising for increased orders versus last year.”

How can that be fastest growth in 9 years when the socialist has been in office for only 5 years so far?

Or more importantly, what can team GOP do to F this up?

If an H-1b has an American accent, they are probably not an H-1b. It's race, not citizenship. Americans are more diverse than you think. Millions of US citizens don't look the way you might expect. This fact is very important and will help us win elections.
