Another RW antivax religious nutcase has departed.

https://twitter.com/KyleClark/status/1437601256357388290

From wiki, this guy sounded like a real piece of work.

Enyart has picketed the homes of doctors performing abortions, causing one Colorado town to ban such protests in residential neighborhoods.[3] Enyart also angered families of AIDS victims when he read the men's obituaries on his television show calling the deceased a sodomite.[4] Enyart has also led residential protests against executives of a company which provided construction services for Planned Parenthood offices leading to similar neighbor complaints.[5] Enyart has criticised presidential candidates who do not share his view on abortion.[6]

He is a proponent of corporal punishment of children saying that their "hearts are lifted" by spanking.[7] He was convicted of misdemeanor child abuse in 1994 after beating his girlfriend's child with a belt so hard that the beating broke the skin.[8][9]

Bob Enyart filed a lawsuit which got U.S. District Court judge and Trump appointee to issue a temporary restraining order against the Colorado public-health order over COVID-19 and the wearing of masks during religious services, also against rules preventing gatherings exceeding 175 people during the pandemic. Bob Enyart and his wife have refused to take the Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, and Pfizer COVID vaccines because they were reportedly and without substantiation, "tested on cell lines from aborted fetuses". Both Enyart and his wife developed COVID,[14] and Bob Enyart subsequently died from the disease on approximately September 13, 2021.[15]

TN woman busted for 20 lbs of marijuana, 40 plants on her farm

Love this mugshot

JACKSON, Tenn. (ABC4) – A Tennessee woman is facing big trouble after a drug bust at her farm.

Peggy Brewington was arrested in Jackson, Tennessee following a month-long investigation.

On August 27, a drug task force and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of Brewington’s home. During the search, they asked Brewington how much marijuana was inside the residence. Brewington responded with, “maybe an ounce.”

After a continued search of the residence, officers located over 20 pounds of marijuana inside the home and around 40 marijuana plants from around the property. A second search was conducted at a nearby residence and more growing marijuana and processed marijuana was recovered.

Brewington will now face the Jackson County Grand Jury for her charges.

Another 'patriot' bites the dust.

When former President Donald Trump sent a tweet early this year promoting Jan. 6 as a “Historic day,” a conspiracy-minded former bodybuilder from Michigan let the president know he had his back.

“I’ll be there,” Logan Barnhart replied to @realDonaldTrump on Twitter.

Now, seven months after the man online sleuths dubbed #CatSweat was photographed dragging a police officer down a set of stairs during the attack on the U.S. Capitol, the Michigan man has been arrested by the FBI. An official confirmed the arrest to HuffPost Tuesday morning.

Barnhart, whom the FBI referred to as Capitol suspect 128-AFO because he was wanted for assaulting federal officers, was a major target for the “Sedition Hunters” community, which had given him the nickname “CatSweat” because he was wearing a sweatshirt branded with the name of Caterpillar, the construction equipment manufacturer. (Barnhart worked as a machine operator for Barnhart & Son Inc., which is owned by his father.)

HuffPost positively identified Barnhart before his arrest based on the work of citizen sleuths months ago, but held off on publishing his name based on his violent history (which included rioting charges when he was a teenager) and because the FBI was working on the case.

The Onion nails it.

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN—As reporters, news crews, and pundits rushed to evacuate from Hamid Karzai International Airport, the United States completed its withdrawal from Afghanistan Monday, thereby marking the end to the longest media farce in American history.

“Today, 20 years after the first invasion, we are finally concluding our nation’s longest-ever campaign of media hot air and bullshit punditry,” said Georgetown University historian Alan Hawthorne, adding that the media’s mission to sell the American public on the essentially impossible goal of establishing a self-sufficient government in Afghanistan had dragged on through two decades, four presidents, and three generations of journalists.

“Ever since the attacks on September 11, the U.S. media machine has sacrificed countless hours of prime-time coverage to validate the idea that we could accomplish something of lasting value to Afghanistan, struggling valiantly against common sense and any inkling of skepticism toward the policy establishment. Of course, America’s newspapers engaged in similar campaigns in Vietnam, Korea, and Iraq. But none lasted so long, and few mischaracterized the situation so thoroughly to the American people.”

Hawthorne went on to add that despite having withdrawn from the occupation, the damage the U.S. media did to the reputation of journalists everywhere could last for generations

WI woman shoots friend while using gun's laser sight to play with cat

KENOSHA, Wis. (NEXSTAR) – A Wisconsin woman accidentally shot a friend while using the laser sight on a handgun to play with a cat, authorities said.

A criminal complaint charging the 19-year-old woman with negligent use of a weapon said she was visiting a Kenosha apartment on Tuesday afternoon where a 21-year-old man had brought a handgun.

The woman, who a witness said had been drinking, picked up the handgun, “turned on the laser sight and was pointing it at the floor to get the cat to chase it,” when the gun went off, the complaint filed Thursday said. The man, who was standing in a doorway, was shot in the thigh, authorities said. He left and went into another apartment, where police found him after responding to a 911 call, the Kenosha News reported.

A tourniquet was applied to his leg to stop the bleeding before he was taken to a hospital. There’s no word on his condition, but authorities said he was facing charges for violating bond conditions that prevented him from having a weapon.

The woman told police she thought the magazine had been taken out of the gun and said it “accidentally went off,” adding that she apologized to the gunshot victim and “he told her it was okay,” the Kenosha News reported.

The Gaetz-MTG Fundraising Tour Is Actually a Cash Fire

At the height of the controversy surrounding Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and the revelations that he’s under investigation for sex trafficking, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) bet big on a nationwide joint fundraising tour with her embattled colleague. But new campaign filings show that not only did the gamble not pay off, but that the much-maligned Republicans actually spent four times as much as they raised.

Since Gaetz and Greene kicked off their joint fundraising committee with a May 7 event at The Villages in central Florida, their campaigns and joint fundraising committee have posted a combined loss of $342,000. And according to recent filings with the Federal Election Commission, that joint fundraising effort, “Put America First,” reported only $59,345.54 in contributions.

That sort of meager haul would be fine for a dinner or one-time event, but Gaetz and Greene have repeatedly held high-profile events and spent a whopping $287,036.19 to hold them—meaning they’re in the hole by more than $225,000.

Both Gaetz and Greene contributed $150,000 apiece from their own campaigns to the joint fundraising committee. And they’ve raised money almost entirely from small-dollar donors. Only four people gave $500 or more to the shared committee. But their campaign tour of some of the most Trump-friendly areas in the nation has been inordinately expensive.

In fact, the big winner from the Gaetz and Greene barnstorming appears to be Gaetz’s PR firm.

The Logan Circle Group, which the campaign hired in early April, made off with more than a million dollars in the second quarter of 2021. While the majority of that money came from Gaetz—$825,000 over the course of one month—the firm nudged past the million-dollar mark with the $250,000 it received from Put America First. Those payments, nearly 90 percent of the committee’s total budget, were for “event production and management,” according to FEC filings.

Charlie Robinson who played Mac on Night Court has passed.

One of my favorite shows.

Charlie Robinson, who became a regular on the hit comedy Night Court starting in its second season, has died at age 75.

The actor passed on Sunday at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center from cardiac arrest with multisystem organ failures due to septic shock and metastatic adenocarcinoma, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

He had a career spanning more than five decades that featured major roles in films and in the theater, though he was best known for his work in television.

Robinson's best-known role was as the court clerk Macintosh 'Mac' Robinson on NBC's Night Court from 1985 until the show's final season in 1992.

His character replaced another clerk played by Karen Austin in the first season.

Mac was a Vietnam veteran and the most easy-going of the main cast, who had an instantly recognizable costume featuring some kind of plaid shirt paired with a cardigan and a knit tie.

The sitcom focused on the staff working the nightshift at a Manhattan court and also starred Harry Anderson and John Larroquette, among others.

Man sitting on toilet bitten by neighbor's escaped python.

BERLIN (AP) — A man in Austria was bitten by a 1.6-meter (5 1/4-foot) python during an early-morning visit to the toilet at his home on Monday, police said.

The reptile, which apparently escaped from a neighbor’s apartment and may have slithered through the drains, was cleaned and handed back to its owner.

The 65-year-old victim “felt a ‘nip’ in the genital area” shortly after sitting on the toilet at home in Graz just after 6 a.m., according to a statement from police in Styria province. He then looked into the toilet and discovered the albino reticulated python.

The snake apparently had escaped unnoticed from the apartment of the man’s 24-year-old neighbor. It wasn’t immediately possible to figure out how it escaped and how it got into the toilet, but police said it may have made its way through the drains.

A reptile expert was called to retrieve the snake, which was returned to his owner. Police said the younger man kept 11 non-venomous constrictor snakes and a gecko in his apartment, in terrariums and drawers. He faces an investigation on suspicion of causing bodily harm by negligence.

The victim sustained only minor injuries, police said.
