n2doc's JournalChina hospital demolished 'with people inside'
A hospital in China has been bulldozed while still in use, reportedly causing doctors inside to flee and burying six bodies from its morgue under rubble, state media say.
The Number Four Hospital of Zhengzhou University in Henan province was partially demolished on Thursday amid a land dispute, Xinhua news agency said.
Hospital staff told reporters equipment worth over $600,000 was damaged.
The case has sparked outrage in China, where forced demolitions are common.
Doctors told local media that several men in camouflage uniforms showed up at the hospital, in Huiji district, on Thursday, and began bulldozing the building.

Injuries soar after Michigan stops requiring motorcycle helmets
In the three years after Michigan repealed a mandatory motorcycle helmet law, deaths and head injuries among bikers rose sharply, according to a recent study.
Deaths at the scene of the crash more than quadrupled, while deaths in the hospital tripled for motorcyclists. Head injuries have increased overall, and more of them are severe, the researchers report in the American Journal of Surgery.
Senior author Dr. Carlos Rodriguez decided to do the study after noticing an abrupt change in the trauma unit at Spectrum Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, where he works.
The first week after the law was repealed in April 2012, he told Reuters Health, "I just could not help but notice the number of patients that had been in motorcycle crashes with no helmet on, which was enormously different in number and volume than we had experienced the weekend before."

Guns in Texas psychiatric hospitals could harm patients, advocates say
Mental health advocates have condemned Texas new firearms law for allowing the open carry of guns in state psychiatric hospitals, arguing it could negatively impact patients treatments and could lead to an uptick in suicide rates.
The state hospital in Austin took down its signs banning guns this week, the Austin American-Statesman reported, though officials have requested that if visitors enter with their weapons, they at least keep them hidden.
With the new law in effect, we are putting up signs asking licensed gun holders to conceal their firearms or leave them safely in their vehicles before going into our state mental health hospitals, said Carrie Williams, a spokeswoman for the state health department. While licensed visitors are legally permitted to carry on our hospital campuses, our patients are being actively treated for psychiatric conditions and generally its best not to expose them to weapons of any kind.
On New Years Day, Texas became the 45th and most populous state to allow some form of open carrying of handguns. Open display of long guns such as rifles was already legal, though a rarely-exercised right. The law repurposes concealed handgun licenses as licenses to carry, meaning that licensed Texans may now visibly carry guns in hip or shoulder holsters in many public places.

A bullet hole was discovered in a storefront window at the Bernie Sanders campaign headquarters in northwest Las Vegas on Thursday morning, the same day the Democratic presidential candidate was on site, Metro Police said today.
Officers responded just before noon to the campaign office at 815 South Rainbow Blvd., near Alta Drive, authorities said. Police said it appears a bullet went through the window but declined to comment on whether a shot had been fired.
Sanders did interviews with several media outlets at the office Thursday morning, including with the Sun.
The Sanders campaign declined comment.
Police are investigating.

Sanders: If LBJ followed Clinton ‘we would not have Medicare’
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa Sen. Bernie Sanders challenged Hillary Clinton on Friday over her refusal to increase payroll taxes to expand family leave, arguing that alternative approaches would jeopardize funding for the proposed benefit.
Here is an area where Secretary Clinton and I have a different point of view, he said in a short speech at the DoubleTree Hotel. She has talked in vague and general terms about the need for paid family leave and medical leave. She has not described how she will pay for it.
Im the only candidate running, in either party, who will tell you my goal, my pledge, is to raise incomes, not taxes, on the middle class, Clinton said in a speech in Des Moines earlier this week.
Thats not true almost the entire Republican field has pledged not to raise taxes and every major contender has released proposals along those lines. But it does set up a contrast with Sanders, who argued that more a broad-based tax enshrines middle class benefits and keeps them from being gutted down the line. He estimated the average cost to a worker under his plan would be $1.61 a week.
If Lyndon Baines Johnson had taken the same position as Secretary Clinton that a small payroll tax was unacceptable, we would not have Medicare in this country, Sanders said.

Charles Koch is 'disappointed' in 2016 Republicans – but will still give $900m
US businessman Charles Koch spoke candidly about his role as a power broker for Republicans and his disappointment with the candidates for the 2016 election in a rare interview published on Friday.
Speaking to the Financial Times at the headquarters of Koch Industries, the second-largest privately held company by revenue in the US, Koch who has been vilified by both Democrats and the press explained why he agreed to the interview.
Were being attacked every day by blogs, other newspapers, media, people in government, and they were totally perverting what we do and why we do it. We have had other people answering it, Koch said. But Im the evil guy, so I need to come out and show who I am, like it or not.
The businessman and philanthropist claimed he was a classical liberal and said he considered William Gladstone, the 19th century British politician who was against Corn Law trade tariffs and political patronage, as a political hero.
