n2doc's JournalWarren goes to Lincoln Memorial after ObamaCare repeal vote to 'replenish my soul'
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) paid a visit to the Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday, saying she needed to replenish her soul hours after the Senate approved a procedural vote for repealing ObamaCare.
"I needed to replenish my soul tonight," Warren tweeted, alongside a photo of herself and her husband at the memorial.
The Senate on Tuesday afternoon voted to begin debate on an ObamaCare repeal plan. Shortly before the vote, Warren issued a warning about the bill and urged people to speak up and fight back.
"This is not a drill. This is the real thing," she said in the video.

Collins on hot mic: Farenthold 'so unattractive, it's unbelievable'
Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) was caught on a hot mic Tuesday talking about the looks of GOP Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas), who a day earlier was quoted in a story blaming some female senators from the Northeast for the healthcare repeal impasse.
Did you see the one who challenged me to a duel? Collins asked Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.) following a spending bill markup.
Trust me, you know why he challenged you to a duel? Because you could beat the shit out of him, Reed says.
Collins then brought up a picture of Farenthold that was taken at fundraiser while he was wearing duck-print pajamas and standing next to a lingerie model. Hes so unattractive, its unbelievable, Collins says. Did you see the picture of him in his pajamas next to this bunny, playboy bunny?

GOP House Science Chair: Melting Arctic Sea Ice A Win For The Earth
By CAITLIN MACNEAL Published JULY 25, 2017 11:26 AM
Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), noted climate change denier and chair of the House Science Committee, on Monday penned an eyebrow-raising op-ed that argued there are benefits to a changing climate.
The benefits of a changing climate are often ignored and under-researched. Our climate is too complex and the consequences of misguided policies too harsh to discount the positive effects of carbon enrichment, Smith wrote in an op-ed for The Daily Signal, a website run by the conservative Heritage Foundation.
Smith acknowledged that the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is increasing and argued that it would help plant growth and farming. He also posited that sea ice melting in the Arctic would open up new shipping routes, spinning ice melt as a positive change for the Earth.
The use of fossil fuels and the byproducts of carbon enrichment play a large role in advancing the quality of human life by increasing food production to feed our growing population, stimulating the economy, and alleviating poverty, he wrote. Bad deals like the Paris Agreement would cost the U.S. billions of dollars, a loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs, and have no discernible impact on global temperatures.

Jeff Sessions Is Growing Pissed at Trump, His Allies Say. And He Doesnt Plan to Quit.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions has no plans to leave office as friends say he's grown angry with President Donald Trump following a series of attacks meant to marginalize his power and, potentially, encourage his resignation.
Sessions is totally pissed off about it, said a Sessions ally familiar with his thinking. Its beyond insane. Its cruel and its insane and its stupid.
Sessions allies say the presidents criticism of the attorney general is counterproductive. Perhaps more than any other member of Trumps cabinet, Sessions has been an uncompromising advocate for Trumps agenda. The attorney general has worked methodically to dismantle Obamas legacy at the Justice Department: reconsidering the departments efforts to make troubled police departments change their practices, changing the DOJs stance on voter I.D. lawsuits, and rolling back former Attorney General Eric Holders sentencing guidelines that were aimed at reduced incarceration and balancing out drug-crime-related punishments.
Every pick for a U.S. Attorneys office that Sessions has made has underscored the administrations focus on border security. Hes visited the border twice to emphasized a desire prosecute undocumented immigrants. Hes passionately defended Trumps so-called travel ban and threatened to withhold funding from sanctuary cities.
