Candy Crowley twin in a lab coat

looking very concerned and doctor-like in a TV ad just now, bashing healthcare reform. What the hell is this? Paid for by "Concerned women for America" looked it up: Seems they just bought $6 million of ad time.

"Concerned Women for America (CWA) is the nation's largest public policy women's organization with a rich 30-year history of helping our members across the country bring Biblical principles into all levels of public policy. There's a cultural battle raging across this country and CWA is on the frontline protecting those values through prayer and action."

Off duty SWAT cop puts man on life support

(for "talking too loud" on cellphone. Punched man for using cellphone on outdoor patio of local pub, victim on life support after two emergent brain surgeries last night. Witnesses say the only interaction between the two men was when the off duty cop said he was talking too loud on phone, then decked him. WTF?)

Minneapolis police officer punches man unconscious on bar patio in Andover

ANDOVER, Minn. (KMSP) -
A father of four from Ramsey, Minn. is not spending this Father's Day as anyone would like. Brian Vander Lee is fighting for his life at Mercy Hospital.

"Everyone is taking it hard -- it's tough," said Mike Archambault, Vander Lee's longtime friend.

Archambault says Vander Lee was on the patio at Tanners in Andover around 7 p.m. Saturday night. Vander Lee was talking loud on his cell phone when a stranger at another table asked him to be quiet. Minutes later, Archambault spoke to Vander Lee as he was pulling into the parking lot, but the cell phone went dead.

"He did a Superman punch," Archambault said. "Brian went back, feet up in the air, and the guy landed on top of him and his head bounced off the concrete

If your parent/grandparent is is a nursing home

and on Medicaid, be forwarned.
My Dad died 18 days ago. He was a WW2 veteran and former POW. He was never on Medicaid, had VA coverage and disabiity. However, my Mom who died in 2008 was on Medicaid for her nursing home stay. They had no home, just rented, and had a tiny blue=collar savings, they spent down, followed all the Medicaid rules. Like most lower-middle income folks, they had no fancy "estate planner" to hide assets in the Cayman Islands, heck they wouldn't do it anyway. They were just hard working poor people who never asked for anything, until Mom had a stroke, we coped as long as we could until she finally needed skilled care.
Today, while my Dad's body is barely in the ground, we get a letter saying that the state "estate asset recovery"
would like $108,000.00 from his "estate" to pay for my Moms nursing home care prior to her death in 2008!
Fortunately, they have nothing to go to probate, there is no "estate" but if, for instance they had a home to sell, ALL of it's proceeds would go to "payback" Medicaid, even years after the fact. They wait until the surviving non-Medicaid spouse dies, then place a lien. I was not aware of this and shocked to get the letter at how fucking cold hearted this country has become.

One haircut no Romney menfolk ever had

the one in bootcamp. Not Willard, or pappy, nor grandpappy, nor Willard's FIVE sons: Biff, Barf, Tad, Turd, and Thurston the IV (whatever their names are).

Lieutenant James Earle Carter, Jr., USN

It steams the hell out me to hear Willard Prissypants Chickenshit insult President Carter. Willard, who supported the Vietnam War while he did a couple tours in Paris trying to convert the French heathens. Willard whose FIVE sons ALL found military service beneath them. ("They support their country by working on my campaign&quot Willard, whose entire family going back five generations, have NOT ONE veteran among them. Not the Civil War, WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, none, NADA, zip, not a one. Romney is not a harmless inept baffoon, he is one evil asshole.

Distinguished Naval service of Jimmy Carter.

Bachmann's Democratic challengers

The 6th district convention is April 14th in Blaine. So far three DFL candidates have announced they want to battle the dragon.

#1: Brian McGoldrick

"I’m excited to let you know that Brian McGoldrick announced this morning that he is seeking the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) endorsement to run for the U.S. House of Representatives this November, on behalf of Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District.
We believe that the Sixth District needs representation in Washington that works as hard as its people. Brian McGoldrick isn’t afraid of government and doesn’t think Americans should be either. He thinks it’s time for all of us to believe once again in a government that’s reasonable, fair and optimistic.
You can follow Brian on Twitter and Facebook, and visit our fantastic new website. And, we hope that you will spread the word about our campaign to your network of friends.

Sincerely,

CHRISTOPHER POLLARD

Acting Campaign Director

#2: Anne Nolan

"Late yesterday, the St. Cloud Times broke the news that Anne Nolan, a long-time DFL activist and former legislative candidate, will announce her intention to seek the DFL endorsement to take on Michele Bachmann in the Sixth District.

Ms. Nolan lives in St. Cloud. She ran against Rep. Jim Knobloch of House District 15A in 2004. Knobloch went on to lose to Michele Bachmann for the GOP nomination for Congress in the Sixth District, and his seat was later won by Steve Gottwalt. More recently, she ran against Rep. Gottwalt in 2010."

#3: Jim Graves

"Graves is chief executive of Graves Global Hospitality, a company with holdings that include the Graves 601 Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Graves, also a political novice, lives outside the district in south Minneapolis. He isn’t required to live in the district, but a statement announcing his campaign stressed his St. Cloud roots. Graves was born and raised there, and serves as a trustee at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph. His statement said he had “created hundreds of jobs” beginning with his roots as an entrepreneur in St. Cloud. Graves Hospitality Corp., now led by Graves’ son Benjamin, built downtown St. Cloud’s Radisson Hotel, renamed Le St-Germain Suite Hotel in February 2011.

Graves plans to announce his plans definitively in early April, spokesman Donald McFarland said."

"find something that bothers you and try to fix it"

That's a quote from Fire Chief Leanna Mims, Seminole County Fire Department. Her Seminole County FD EMT's are the ones who tended to Zimmerman and his "mortal wounds". This will be the testimony I can't wait to hear, that will answer many questions. No leaks from anyone yet, I think they've been told not to talk until the Grand Jury convenes.

"Her career advice to girls: "Find something that bothers you and try to fix it. No matter what career you choose, keep your principles and never give up your integrity". Chief Leanna Mims

I am hoping she means what she says. That the Seminole County police/fire would not cover for each other. Female Chief, female EMT, I am hopeful honesty and real justice for Trayvon will prevail. (Yeah, I do have more faith in females, sorry if that offends anyone) I hope they are mothers as well.

Paperwork detailing the EMS response to the shooting scene shows that a call for a second ambulance was canceled.

An audiotape containing the EMS communications, also obtained by The News on Friday, records unidentified workers discussing the scene.

Zimmerman’s condition is mentioned briefly in the 30-minute recording.

“Do we have a second patient?” a man asks.

“That’s affirmative. We have a second patient,” a woman replies. “The second patient is not a gunshot.”
