Mad_Machine76's JournalPredictions of imminent and terminal doom of President Obama/Democrats
everytime there is a (largely) media- and/or Republican-driven spate of "bad news" for the Obama Administration/Democrats is getting really tiresome, particularly when you consider the previous (mis-)Administration of George W. Bush, whose incompetence and/or bad choices actually, literally, harmed and killed lots of people. President Obama's missteps/mistakes have largely resulted in little more than bad publicity and/or inconveniences for some.
Wow. A brief flash of sanity from McConnell
He forgot to add that they wouldn't trip over themselves to confirm a replacement for her if President Obama did call for Sebelius' resignation but I'm sure we all know that by this point. I mean, as I recall, they held her nomination up for several months when she was first nominated- until the Swine Flu hit and they realized how bad it would look on them to continue holding up her nomination when somebody needed to be in charge of the response.
Republicans are the ones playing games
Democrats want to govern responsibly but aren't being allowed to, particularly with one-half of one-third of the Federal Government being able to shut down the Federal Government. Unfortunately, their malfeasance and misconduct splashes down on everybody else.
Ever since he was elected
It seems as though President Obama has been expected to be the one to compromise with/capitulate to the Republicans and be "bipartisan" but the Republicans have repeatedly been allowed to be as partisan as they have wanted to be while simultaneously complaining that President Obama is being partisan and divisive. It seems to be a no-win situation for him.
Not being there myself I don't know
The Republicans obviously think that there was some kind of conspiracy/cover-up though they can't seem to actually articulate why or what the motivation is/was and you'd think that by now somebody would've blown the lid off the whole thing, especially since the Republicans run the House and could've done whatever they wanted to do to attack/embarrass the President over it. Why is that a year later, they have been unable to come up with anything more than a series of insinuations? BTW I heard from Media Matters that that guy from 60 minutes had previously shopped his story to Fox News FOX NEWS!!! and they realized that he was only out for money and dropped him like a hot potato, so obviously 60 Minutes wasn't very picky: http://mediamatters.org/blog/2013/10/28/60-minutes-benghazi-eyewitness-asked-fox-news-f/196623
The RWNJs are DESPERATE for anything to attack President Obama over. 60-70 embassy staff died in terror attacks during W's reign of error and I don't recall McCain, Graham, et. al grandstanding over those attacks and threatening to grind government to a halt over them. Rank hypocrisy is what is at the core of all of this IMHO. They need to put up some credible accusation and prove it to us or they need to STFU about it IMHO
But enrollment doesn't DEPEND on the website, does it?
Is anybody checking daily to see how it's working? Are people still going to be reporting problems after the problems have been fixed? I was able to go on last Sunday and create an account after having all kinds of issues for the first two weeks
Anybody who voted against ACA and/or tried to repeal ACA
shouldn't get a say as far as I'm concerned. And, at any rate, pushing out a glitchy website that AFAIK hasn't harmed or killed anybody is not a fireable offense IMHO. Republicans just love to see Democratic heads roll but they don't much believe in accountability for themselves.
And we spent trillions of dollars AND 4000K troops died and who knows how many Iraqi non-combatants
and they are demanding that Sebeilius resign because of website glitches for helping people obtain health insurance coverage (under a law they voted 40+ times to repeal- that would have resulted in no website at all)?
These people are seriously messed in the head
"the apostasies of the Bush Administration......"
What did they ever get upset at the Bush (mis-)Administration about? For all of their complaints about Wall Street bailouts, TARP, etc., they have been mighty resistant to any sort of meaningful reforms and/or increasing regulations on Wall Street following the 2008 meltdown. Many of them blame left-wing groups and government-run entities for the meltdown. Most of them- or at least a lot of them- were its most ardent defenders about just about everything- torture, Iraq, illegal (at the time) wiretapping, tax cuts, deregulation. You name it. None of them AFAIK were upset about the massive tax cuts for the wealthy or the massive deregulation or the vast sums of money or lives spent in Iraq over phantom WMDs not to mention the money and equipment that was stolen and/or went missing (or both). The only people raising objections to the Bush (mis-)Administration were progressives and Democrats though we were mostly shut out in the cold from any serious discussions of what it was up to. The Tea Party movement is/was IMHO a right-wing reaction against President Obama's election disguised as a populist movement supported and funded by rich right-wingers to cripple and obstruct his (and the Democrats') agenda and boost the Republican Party after it was left flagging after the 2008 election and the failures of the Bush (mis-)Administration.
