What should my wife do with her money?

Both of us are confirmed gloom-and-doomers... and skeptics...and not schooled in money management, either.

We were both high-school teachers, and we can tell you more about the history and makeup of the US debt than what to do with our own money. As teachers, we didn't have all that much money to deal with, anyway.

My wife came into an inheritance, and she/we are wondering what to do with it.

It's sitting in a Credit Union as we speak... earning .5% Both of us - as gloom and doomers - are uncomfortable leaving it there... or in some kind of institution. With the last crash in mind, and the next one coming up, with the derivatives and toxic financial "products" out there, we both feel our economy is a house of cards.

Gold..? We both think the market is owned and controlled, so we don't think so.

Real Estate...? Hey, there was a real estate crash.

Any of you bright souls have any ideas?

Christian violence...

Fox says that Christians kill nobody.

How do you suppose they would respond to the Irish situation?

For centuries, the Irish Catholics and Irish Protestants - and their British Anglican masters - killed each other by the thousands.

During the "troubles" between 1969 and 1997, 3,600 Christians killed each other.

And that violence continues... although at a much slower pace.

Let's ignore the Crusades, which are "current events" in the Middle East. Let's ignore the Inquisition. Let's ignore the European wars of religion during the 16th and 17th Centuries.... which had as much - or more - barbarism as anything happening today.

All that happened long ago, and Americans have the historical perspective and attention span of a clam.

Let's just point to the Irish Christians.

"Amnesty bonuses"...? Anybody got any info?

The Weakly Standard published a piece (POS) that says ..
"Illegal aliens will be eligible to receive the Orwellian “Earned Income Tax Credit” (which ironically, is not “earned” at all) that will give the foreign invaders tax credits. And worse yet, they will be allowed to reach into the pockets of legal American taxpayers retroactively for the past three years.
“By offering illegal aliens new payments under the Earned Income Tax Credit, the IRS may encourage fraud from those claiming children living in other countries. The Administration may have blown open the doors for fraud with amnesty bonuses of more than $24,000 to those who receive deferred action,” Senator Sasse (R-NE) said in a statement on the matter. “By subsidizing illegal entry with four years’ worth of new tax credits, the IRS would promote lawlessness. This program severely undermines the White House’s lip-service to enforcing the law and would increase the burden on law-abiding taxpayers.”

Anybody know how full of shit this is?

I'm not posting the URL... I don't want to give the Weakly Standard the traffic. It's around the web on the usual RWNJ sites, too. Nothing on the reality-based sites.

The comments below the article talk about impeachment and "one bullet". And "He's Muslim and hates our Military because the power of the U.S. could eradicate the ISIS animal's."
All the usual stuff.... but this one is a real winner...."Sorry Peggy I wish he was, but he is not a muslim. If he was a muslim we would not be having any problem with him as he would be dead. muslims kill homosexuals. Actually if he was that would take care of two problems at once . Not only would we not have a problem with him, we would not have any problem with his man wife either. How many women do you know with an adams apple? Take a good close look at his man wife, you will see many other qualities that point to my statement. I'm willing to bet that there is no phone number held up with a fridge magnet in the White House with an OBGYN's name on it."
