keep_left's JournalAre these based on NFTs or something? Why else would anyone spend $99 on a single card?
In addition, Ben Garrison should be suing over the "Trump fantasy physique" plagiarized from his ridiculous cartoons which show Trump as 30 years younger, 100 pounds lighter, and possessing chiseled superhero fitness.
Edit: Well, post #28 was made while I was typing. It looks like they are a combination of NFTs and limited releases (or one-offs) for a few of the cards. What a fucking grift!
It will be interesting to see what force Putin thinks he can bring to bear...
...on NATO that he hasn't already brought on Ukraine. Thanks to the fact that there are still some brave international reporters, the world knows that the Russian oligarch class in cahoots with former KGB officers like Putin have hollowed out the entire country--including their historically fearsome military. The Russians can't even maintain their equipment, let alone run a military operation.
The only problem is that they still do have lots of nukes. Let's hope they aren't in any better shape than the rest of their military force.
Yeah, it wasn't called "The Hitler Channel" for nothing--and that was years ago.
Apparently, most of the WWII/Hitler footage is public domain, and they sure used a lot of it!
It's really sad to see the demise of so many of the old educational cable channels: Bravo, History Channel, TLC, etc. But I guess that's why so many have "cut the cord" in the last few years. Unfortunately, they're now playing many of the same games with the rise of all the streaming services, so at some point, I'll probably just be left with a bunch of old-fashioned physical media (DVD, Blu-Ray) and the occasional pay-per-view feature. No way will I be going back to paying hundreds of $$ a month for TV.
And Trump continued to consume right-wing TV and radio even while in the White House.
He called it "Executive Time", which is a rather Orwellian title that actually means "sitting on my ass watching Fox 'News' for eight hours at a stretch".

Historian Morris Berman discusses the "hustler mentality" in several of his books...
...in particular, his "America Trilogy": The Twilight of American Culture, Dark Ages America, and Why America Failed. The critique is especially pronounced in the latter. Berman would have a lot to say about the characterization of Marjorie Taylor Greene's family in the article.
Basically, America worships the hustle and the grift, and so we become spiritually impoverished as a result. There are other streams of American thought that oppose this (e.g. Thoreau, MLK Jr, Lewis Mumford, Jane Jacobs), but they are easily marginalized and cast aside. At one point, we had civics education in the schools as an attempt to produce more critical-thinking citizens, but that is now mostly a thing of the past.
I recall Alexander being served with papers for an additional deposition...
...immediately after concluding the previous one! We're talking literally minutes later, as he is walking out of the court building.
So he's been pretty busy with court appearances, and probably legal threats to lay low by the authorities. He also seems to have pretty good legal representation. It doesn't hurt that his mother is a lawyer.

"Crisis" magazine: a favorite of ultramontanist Catholic radtrads. Not exactly mainstream.
Deal Hudson was the publisher for many years (as well as a favorite guest in the GW Bush White House) until his sex-scandal past caught up with him. At one point, Hudson even had a regular show on the execrable EWTN Catholic channel, The Church and Culture Today.

Since Hudson had to step down from most of his public activities, Crisis has been taken over by Sophia Institute Press, an even harder-right group.

What Vance is doing here (abetted by Crisis magazine) is flirting with alt-right conspiracy theories about "Jewish pornographers" who are "destroying the West with degeneracy". Anywhere you find Pepe memes (Reddit, 4Chan/8Chan/whatever-the-hell-they-call-it-now), you'll find this garbage. Often the true believers in this stuff won't just flirt with the anti-Semitism, as can be seen from the kind of crap that Ye and Gavin McInnes are pushing. The "Jew = degeneracy" memes have been a staple of alt-right media since the dawn of the commercial internet, if not before.
This is really dangerous talk. The attendees of this little soiree need to be put...
...on multiple Three-Letter-Agency lists.
I never thought I would see so many elected officials using this kind of language. The constant demonizing and dehumanization of their opposition (teachers, "Demonrats", the "Democrat (sic) Party" ) will eventually have consequences, given enough time. And I fear that time is growing short.
Here's the link from the article, for those who might consider Raw Story "questionable".
https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch/2022/12/11/white-nationalists-other-republicans-brace-total-warThese "Young Republicans" are really using dangerous language. I sure hope everyone who attended ends up on multiple Three-Letter-Agency watch lists.
I wonder if we'll hear about the catfights with Tulsi...
...whose own career has followed a similar trajectory to Fox News. Watch out for the back stabbers, Tulsi!
