hedgehog's JournalWhen you were diagnosed, did you start eating organic vegetables, exercising
regularly, avoiding red meat and gluten; or did you say to hell with it and go eat a juicy hamburger?
AS for me, broccoli will never again cross these lips!
One easy mistake; because we saw images of some young men
looting and setting fires, it's easy to assume that all the young men in the area were looting and setting fires.
I only now saw the video of Freddy Gray getting arrested.
I saw a man on his front with his shoulders pulled back by an officer with a knee in his back. Then I saw a man dragged to the police van whom I think was screaming in pain and who apparently had no feeling in his legs. I think he was hurt before he was ever properly handcuffed.
Why do so many discussions over food safety get caught up in semantics?
Organic patron: I don't want chemicals on my food (clearly meaning petrochemicals)Typical response: Why, water is a chemical!
I want my food to be organic(meaning raised using non-conventional techniques)
Response: why, all food contains carbon, so it's all organic!
I don't want GMO food (referring to organisms that have had genes from very different organisms inserted, ex, fish with genes from corn or whatever)
Response: All food is GMO because it's all been selected from wild stock and/or hybridized within the species
I don't think GMO foods are safe for the environment.
Response: GMO foods are perfectly safe to eat!
If you can't defend your position without twisting words and/or ignoring arguments, then why should we believe anything you have to say on the subject?
Instead of filling a hanging pot to the brim with heavy soil,
I'd like to fill the bottom half with something lighter. Suggestions?
Cisplatin and hearing loss: After two rounds of chemo, I have a loss of hearing in
the high frequency range.
1. Should I expect to lose hearing in this range completely as the chemo continues?
2. Should i expect hearing damage in the lower frequencies?
In other words, is this the damage I'll have, or is there more to come?

Some wild ass speculation posted for further discussion:
1. We know the old recommendation for Vitamin D was based on how much was needed to avoid rickets, an acute disease.
2. Recently, medical scientists have proposed much higher recommendations based on prevention of chronic disease and/or improvement of the immune system, etc.
3. What if Linus Pauling was right about Vitamin C?
