What's all this bull shit that the Manafort revelation exonerates Trump?

Manafort was under surveillance with a valid warrant (or two) from the FISA court, according to law.

The right wing assholes that say that this now validates Trump's claim that President Obama had his "wires tapped" is absolute bull shit.

An American citizen CAN NOT commit treason or espionage, even if (or especially if) he or she is part of a Presidential campaign.

What fucking planet am I on? Every patriotic American of any political persuasion should be on the side of getting to the truth of the Russian investigation by any Constitutional means possible, and a warrant makes the Manafort surveillance Constitutional. It's too bad if the orange faced traitor gets caught conspiring on that surveillance tape.

Is it just me, or is everyone else pissed off about this Manafort investigation?

On October 28, 2016, the FBI director, James Comey felt an obligation to inform the voting public that he reopened the Hilary Clinton investigation because Anthony Weiner's lap top could have incriminating evidence on it. The fact that it was bull shit and nothing came of it and Hilary was cleared did not change the fact that her momentum had been broken and the bogus call fed right into the anti-Clinton narrative. There is no doubt in Hilary's mind, or mine, that cost her the election. Sure, there were other factors, but without that letter to Congress, she would have won. The other factors made it close, but that letter made the difference.

Now, we find out that Manafort was not only under investigation for what I call Treason, but that the FISA court issued warrants to put the bastard under surveillance. That there was a case, far more believable and sinister than anything Hilary was suspected of.

I know if that was revealed during the election, I personally could have changed dozens of minds. Maybe not switched Trump to Hilary, but influenced Trump voters to abandon him and sideliners to vote for Hilary.

Remember that last week? We were all on the defensive. Remember what Trump said, "that we shouldn't elect a President that will be under investigation on day one"? As it turns out, that should have been our line.

As a result, I am more pissed off today than at any time since November 8, 2016.

These assholes chanted "Lock Her Up"? every fucking one of them should be locked up for Treason ( I know, it's not technically Treason, but it certainly will end up to be conspiring with a hostile foreign country to undermine our Democracy).

Boy, am I pissed.

I'm A Liberal

If by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people-their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties-someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal", then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.

How can you change the mind of a person who believes climate change is a "hoax"

yet that same person is thoroughly convinced that Noah's magic floating zoo, as it appears in the Bible, is absolutely true.

FIX THAT FENCE!! FIX THAT FENCE!!

DACA agreed to without any boarder wall. Some extra drones, boarder enforcement and repairs to existing fences.

I can just hear Donald Trump's mindless minions chanting at his next rally "FIX THAT FENCE!!"

My late cousin used to say, "the only people who can betray you, are those you trust".

I wonder how his bigoted supporters feel today.

<snip>White House press secretary Sarah Sanders disputed that version later Wednesday, but Mr. Trump on Thursday agreed with the Democrats’ reading, saying that the wall will not be part of the deal.

“The wall will come later, we’re right now renovating large sections of wall, massive sections, making it brand new,” he said as he departed the White House en route to Florida, where he was to look at hurricane recovery efforts.<snip>

Is it wrong to call Hitler a Fascist or Stalin a Communist?

if it's not wrong then how is it inappropriate for an ESPN reporter to call Trump a racist?

Does Trump Have Dementia or is He A Genius?

I have been following the rise of Donald Trump to the Presidency with great interest and horror for the past 2 years.

Let me first state my premise (I know it's an opinion).

I contend that Trump got into the Presidential race with no intention of winning. He spent next to no money of his own, used his celebrity status for exposure, did free media all the time and only "borrowed" his own money to fund his campaign. He had every understanding that he'd lose.

The more outrageous his statements, the more popular he got. While 16 other Republicans all sounded like one another, Trump comes off different to the average voter, and different is good enough to win primaries with 30% of the Republican vote.

Shockingly to every political pundit, himself included, he won the Republican nomination. He knows he can't win the general election, but he is as entertaining as hell to the main stream media and to a large group of voters who "hate politicians and the government". No normal political operative signs on with Trump. The hangers on are Russian political operatives, his family members and extreme crazies. He knowingly colludes with the Russians, not to win the election, but just to keep it close and not get embarrassed.

I firmly believe if Trump was left with a choice on November 8th, 2016, of winning the popular vote and losing the Electoral College, thus Hilary becomes President and he can be the victim of the system, he would have rather have that scenario. He had every intention of starting Trump TV with Hannity, O'Reilly, Gorka, Bannon and the like in his network.

Again shocked, he wins the election. But now, all that throwing of caution to the wind comes back to haunt him. His closest friends, his family and even himself now have to answer for the Russian Collusion they participated in. If he'd lost, it most likely would have been overlooked. But he won, and now the shit hits the fan.

He expected the Republicans, who control the Senate and House, to protect him from any investigation. His hand picked Attorney General, he expects, will do the same. All fail him. Hence, the anger at Mitch, Jeff and Paul.

Don Jr. appears today. Trump finds out that he can't pardon anyone for state charges, only Federal. Everyone he knows and likes is at risk and the Republicans are no help, not even his own appointees.

He knows the Democrats are policy driven. He painted himself in a corner with the 3 month extension on purpose. He wants to play ball with the Democrats. He wants the Democrats to have leverage. He's hoping that the Dems, after getting DACA, Taxes and Obamacare fixes, that we will realize that we are much better off with him for 3 and half more years, than with Mike Pence.

This strategy probably won't work, but it's the only one he's got. It's a Machiavellian, triangulation political move that could only be pulled off by a genius.

Either that, or Trump is suffering from Dementia.

Staggering Proof that the Whole World Knows Trump is a Bull Shitter

Over the past two weeks, President* Trump has threatened to end NAFTA, pull out of the trade deal with our ally, South Korea and stop all business and trade with any country doing business with North Korea. That would include Russia, India and the Philippines, as well as China.

If anyone took Trump seriously, the Stock Market would have gone down 2,000 points, China would have sent out a warning and other countries would have made threats of retaliation.

But, everyone knows Trump is full of shit and he's really in charge of nothing. I'm sure the back channels from many in his cabinet are methods of telling people running large corporations and heads of state to ignore that crazy asshole in the White house. Just humor him, after all, we know he's a dope, so please, don't take anything he says seriously until you hear from us.

It's the only thing that makes sense.

The Political Dilemma on DACA for Trump

All the political alternatives for Trump are bad. He will either further push the Republican Party into a 30%, whites only party or he will fracture his base. There is no other alternative.

Trump will end DACA, but put off the implementation for 6 months, in order for Congress to find a fix. Some of the Republicans will push for a border wall as an amendment to the bill. It cannot pass with a wall payment in it. It can't get 60 votes in the Senate and will be lucky to pass the House, with that amendment.

A clean DACA bill can pass both branches with all the Democrats and some Republican support. If it does, what does Trump do?

If he signs the bill, he fractures his base. After all, what's the difference between signing a bill akin to DACA or letting the original Executive Order stand. It has the same effect.

His base will not stand for his signing this bill.

I cannot envision this strategy ending well for him, politically.
