Biden beat TFG at the ballot box once and he'll do it again

Right or wrong, it was obvious that this is how SCOTUS would rule. There will be no "quick fix" for Trump and the MAGA cult.

They must be crushed in November. We did it in 2020 and we can do it again, but we need to be laser focused on getting the vote out. Trump has to lose so badly that there will be no doubt whatsoever that he is finished for good and his name will never grace another ballot again.

Supreme Court rules Trump cannot be kicked off Colorado ballot

Source: NBC

WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court on Monday overturned a Colorado court ruling that said former President Donald Trump was ineligible to run for office again because of his actions leading up to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol -- bringing a swift end to a case with huge implications for the 2024 election.

The court reversed the Colorado Supreme Court, which determined that Trump could not serve again as president under a provision of the Constitution's 14th Amendment.

The decision comes just a day before the Colorado primary.

In addition to ensuring that Trump remains on the ballot in Colorado, the decision is likely to affect similar cases that have arisen. So far only two other states, Maine and Illinois, have followed Colorado's path. Like the Colorado ruling, both those decisions were put on hold.

President [Trump]'s Sister Describes Trump as Liar With 'No Principles' in Recordings

WASHINGTON — Maryanne Trump Barry, President Trump’s older sister and a former federal judge, described him as a liar who has “no principles” in a series of audio recordings made by her niece, Mary L. Trump, in 2018 and 2019.

The recordings were provided to The Washington Post, which published them online Saturday night. In the recording, Ms. Barry can be heard disparaging her brother’s performance as president.

“His goddamned tweet and the lying, oh, my God,” she says in one of the recordings posted by the newspaper. “I’m talking too freely, but you know. The change of stories. The lack of preparation. The lying.”

I think it’s worth reposting this story since she died today.

Does anyone in his family actually like him, other than his spawn? Imagine having to grow up with this guy.

Tom Emmer is an election denier

Yes, he voted to certify the results in Congress, which makes him marginally better than the rest of the deplorable candidates.

But that doesn’t mean he accepts Biden won. To the contrary, he joined Ken Paxton’s lawsuit to overturn the election results in four states.

Millions of Americans do not trust the results of this election. As someone who understands firsthand what is it like to face a contested election, I fully support the investigation into allegations of voter fraud and abuse. I also share the concerns of the many who have unanswered questions about the constitutional nature of the changes made to the election systems in several states.

In case you're wondering how The NY Times is framing Scalise

They’re going with “unifier who has overcome great personal hardship”

Despite an icy relationship with Mr. McCarthy, Mr. Scalise was able to pull together a small majority in a fractious and rebellious conference, securing the support of members from districts won by President Biden as well as the support of members of the ultraconservative House Freedom Caucus.

The elevation of Mr. Scalise, 58, who has been the No. 2 Republican in the chamber, is a vote of confidence for a man who has overcome great personal hardship to rise in the ranks of Republican leadership.

In Congress since 2008, he was diagnosed with blood cancer over the summer and is now undergoing intense treatment, which has prompted him to wear a mask to vote on the House floor and attend news conferences. And in 2017, during a practice for a congressional baseball game, an anti-Trump extremist shot and seriously wounded Mr. Scalise. He still walks with a limp.

No, climate activists are not coming for NYC pizza

Published Sunday by reporters Carl Campanile and Kevin Sheehan, the Post’s story claims that New York’s Department of Environmental Protection “has drafted new rules that would order eateries using the decades-old baking method to slice carbon emissions by up to 75 percent.”

The proposed rules would “ruin” and “destroy” the quality of New York City pizza, the story claims, citing the concerns of an anonymous “pizza restaurateur” who implies pizzerias would no longer be able to use high-temperature ovens under the rules. “You take away the char, the thing that makes the pizza taste great, you kill it,” the anonymous restaurateur says.

The story was all perfect fodder for the political right, whose most effective tactic to delay climate policy thus far has been to turn climate change into a culture war, and to accuse climate activists of trying to “take away” the things they love.

There was just one problem: the story, like so many others, is a lie.

As usual, don't trust right-wing sources like the Murdoch-owned NY Post.

Tom Sizemore, an actor known for his work in hit films like “Saving Private Ryan,” “Natural Born Killers” and “Heat,” has died, his representative Charles Lago confirmed to CNN on Friday.

He was 61.

The actor was hospitalized after suffering a brain aneurysm in mid-February, Lago told CNN at the time.

Sizemore “passed away peacefully in his sleep” at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, with his two sons and his brother, Paul Sizemore, by his side, Lago said in a statement released on behalf of the family.
