Treblinka Camp Secrets: More Proof That The Nazi’s Were Monsters

Forensic archeologist Caroline Sturdy Colls has been granted unprecedented access to excavate one of history’s greatest crime scenes: Hitler’s secret extermination camp in the Polish village of Treblinka.

It was in this camp during the year 1942 and 1943, almost 1 million Jews were killed. But strangely, for the past 70 yeas all evidence of this camp and its victims vanished, Ms. Sturdy Colis plans to reveal what Hitler and his henchmen were so desperate to hide.

The grisly results of this dig are revealed in “Treblinka: Hitler’s Killing Machine,” an hour-long show premiering Saturday on the Smithsonian Channel. But they’re revealed in a way that pays respect to the estimated 900,000 Jewish victims of that killing machine.

“The ethical dimension of the work that I do is really important to me,” Caroline Sturdy Colls told NBC News. The difference at Treblinka, which is as infamous as Auschwitz and Dachau in the hell that was the Holocaust, is that there were no inmates liberated by Allied troops, no photos showing disused gas chambers. The Germans finished their work at Treblinka in 1943 and bulldozed the camp in an effort to cover their tracks. They went so far as to plant crops and build a farmhouse on the leveled ground.

'We're very worried by rise of Nazis in Europe'

Jews in Italy have seen walls smeared with swastikas and had pig's heads delivered to their doors in recent months, but the head of the Jewish Community, Riccardo Pacifici, insists Italy remains a much better place to be Jewish than many other European countries.

His grandparents perished at Auschwitz and his father spent months oscillating between life and death after being seriously injured in a bomb attack on a Rome Synagogue in 1982.

Riccardo Pacifici has also endured years of threats against him - including a thwarted bomb plot - and in January he was the recipient of a pig’s head.

Against the backdrop of an anti-Semitic revival across Europe, the 52-year-old president of Rome’s Jewish Community has leapt to the defence of Italy’s Jews as they face persistent hostility, mostly from right-wing extremists, whether in the form of swastikas being daubed on walls or as the target of online hate speech.

The harassment is also prevalent in football: SS Lazio hooligans have long been notorious for making Nazi salutes and unfurling anti-Jewish banners during games, while late last year they emblazoned stickers across Rome showing Anne Frank, the Jewish teenager who died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, wearing an AS Roma shirt in a bid to ‘taunt’ their rivals.

The memorial day for the victims of the Holocaust - January 27th - is also a time for extremists to make their feelings known: this year, boxes containing a pig’s head were also sent to Rome’s Israeli embassy and synagogue while anti-Jewish slurs cropped up on walls across the city in the days leading up to the anniversary.

In February, a human rights report by the US State Department revealed that 26 percent of Jews in Italy experienced anti-Semitic harassment in the 12 months up to November 2013.

The Untold History of Ukrainian Nationalist Movement and Jews

If you ask an American Jew their background, chances are they will respond "Russian Jew." That is not entirely correct. The majority of American Jewish families came over from the Ukraine. By the same token, the largest wave of immigration from Ukraine to the United States was Jewish. Yet, a trip to the Ukrainian museum in New York will leave you with the impression that there are, and never were, any Jews in Ukraine. Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we?

In the time of the Czars, Ukraine was home to the second largest Jewish population center in Europe, after the Warsaw Ghetto in Poland, and followed by Belarus. The Holocaust changed all that. The Warsaw Ghetto was liquidated after an underdog Jewish last stand, bringing us to the Ukrainian nationalist movement.

During the war, the Ukrainian nationalists were Nazi collaborators. They collaborated in the Holocaust. In fact, the Ukrainians were the most enthusiastic Nazi collaborators in the Einsatzgruppe--the Nazi occupied western front, called the Pale Settlement.

The einsatzkommandos were tasked with, and responsible for, the first wave of ethnic cleansing, according to Hitler and Eichmann's "Final Solution" racialist genocide program targeting Jews. Of course, these were innocents and entire families who were murdered--often times in front of each other. Many were tortured, including Jewish children. Most were simply mowed down with machine guns during the first days of Nazi occupation. It was one of the largest mass murders in history. This was the main Nazi campaign that the Ukrainians participated in.

Nazis organized the so-called Galician Unit of the SS--the Nazi secret police force. Galicia was once a land bordering southwestern Ukraine. In Yiddish, the term Galician refers to Jews living in, or with roots in, the southern region of the Pale: Ukraine and Crimea, as well as Hungary and Romania. Many of these innocents were being protected by what the Jews call "righteous gentiles," non-Jews who risked their own lives to shelter Jews from Nazis. They would have survived the war, were it not for Ukrainian Nazis.

Chicago woman saved family from Holocaust, escaping Germany for Shanghai ghetto

Pauline Cohn was a tigress when it came to protecting her family. She had to be.

In 1938, when anti-Semitic mobs rampaged across Germany, destroying Jewish businesses and synagogues, she was a shaken but determined wife and mother. Her husband was imprisoned in the Dachau concentration camp. Her baby boy was only months old.

After Kristallnacht, the “Night of Broken Glass,” Mrs. Cohn masterminded her family’s escape. Germany had spent the 1930s taking away the rights of the Jewish people and pressuring them to emigrate.

Mrs. Cohn bargained with Nazi functionaries. She finessed and assured them. She pledged her family would leave.

Based on her promises, her husband Walter was freed from Dachau, which was a jail for political prisoners before it became part of Hitler’s killing machinery.

Thanks to her tenacity, the Cohns escaped and sailed to the port of Shanghai, a wartime haven for an estimated 20,000 Jews from Germany, Austria, Lithuania and Poland. Most countries required papers to gain entry, but China did not.

After Georgia Governor John Slaton commuted the sentence from death by hanging to life in prison, a group of influential citizens in Atlanta executed a bold plan to abduct Frank from his jail cell and lynch him in Marietta close to Mary Phagan’s ancestral home.

A Jewish Yankee Comes to Atlanta

Leo Frank and his wife Lucille Selig Leo Max Frank was raised in Brooklyn, New York and attended the Pratt Institute and later Cornell University where he studied mechanical engineering. He enjoyed leisure activities of the upper class such as tennis, chess and bridge and he was a frequent operagoer. He was also well traveled, particularly in Germany where he studied pencil manufacturing. When Frank arrived in Atlanta to work at the National Pencil Company, these activities, his industrialist background and his Yankee mannerisms made others, Jewish and non-Jewish alike, uncomfortable.

Frank met Lucille Selig shortly after arriving in Atlanta and married her despite their apparent differences, such as her disinterest in speaking Yiddish. He was known to be quite handsome and social, even in Atlanta, where he was a member of the Jewish fraternal organization, B’nai B’rith. He was well known, not because he was Jewish, but because he was one of the many Yankee industrialists who had moved to the South for profit. This made him quite unpopular in some southern circles.

The Murder of Mary Phagan

Saturday, April 26th, 1913, was Confederate Memorial Day. That morning, 13-year-old Mary Phagan took a streetcar from her home in Bellwood to the National Pencil Company factory to collect her pay before heading to the parade. She arrived at the factory around noon and proceeded to Leo Frank’s office on the second floor.

Rhode Island Democrat sorry he told bullying InfoWars correspondent to ‘go f*ck himself’

There must be something about InfoWars correspondent Dan Bidondi that invites scorn, ridicule, and profanity.

Bidondi, who is best known for the foul-mouthed fulmination he endured from a furious Boston resident over his website’s “false flag” conspiracy theories, was subjected to more verbal abuse last week from a Rhode Island state senator.

The InfoWars correspondent went March 18 to cover a Statehouse rally for stricter gun control laws and was subjected to repeated insults when he confronted lawmakers.

“How do these gun laws take the guns from the criminals?” Bidondi bellowed in a thick Rhode Island accent.

Putin is against Nazis in Ukraine, but he loves them in Russia (disturbing videos at link)

The Russian government is now claiming that it had to invade Crimea, Ukraine in order to stop “Nazis” from taking over the country.

Russian UN ambassador Vitaly Churkin has been especially vocal about the Ukrainian Nazi threat, repeatedly lashing out at western governments for supporting what he calls “fascist thugs” in the country.

Russian propaganda organ RT (aka Russia Today) was more direct a week ago when, after expressing concern that the Ukrainians were taking down statues of Lenin that were still oddly ubiquitous in the country, “Exit Communism. Enter Nazism?”

It’s therefore more than a tad ironic that Russian President Vladimir Putin, while terribly concerned about Ukraine’s made-up “Nazi threat,” couldn’t care less about his own very real fascist thug problem at home.
